  1. Given it's fun rather than absolute performance Alfasud 1.5 ti Citroen 2CV (never failed to raise a laugh) Caterham 1.6 Supersport Evo 6 Alfa 145 2.0QV
  2. Is it a word association game? ..Removed?
  3. Interesting write up - as always - good stuff
  4. Looks like you've sold it. Hope it all goes through ok. You deserve a sale for the work you put into the advert
  5. No-one would want their prize dahlias interfered with
  6. Just wanted to quickly record the excellent service I received from Sly to unearth a knocking problem from underneath, which turned out to be an issue with ARB links - I had convinced myself it was something different/more complicated than that. Even though it turned out to be a minor issue, he struck me as very professional.
  7. I heard an NA 220 driving near Epsom Downs during the week and it sounded really good...certainly not the standard S1 hairdryer sound
  8. I think, on balance, I would also walk away. The service schedule is set for time as well as mileage and it doesn't say much about the previous owner. I bought mine with similar mileage but it had the full number of stamps - i.e. each year minimum.
  9. Selfishly I quite like it when people buy other cars and report back...it can help when deciding what I might want in the future. Good luck with it
  10. That seems like a very appropriate response to me....if they're lucky.
  11. Excellent write up Had I bothered to write up my S1 Elise properly, it would have been very similar...except bizarrely my heater was ok and there was no airbag ..plus the K series engine (by the time I had one the issues were understood and could be overcome). Mine was fine once dodgy temp sensor sorted. It also took a bit of effort to make it sound better than stock. Some of the later, improved seats can be retro fitted in the case of the Elise... I don't know whether this applies to the VX220 though.
  12. The question I find myself asking is would you knowingly associate yourself with or have a friendship with a person who writes the really dodgy stuff? If you found out someone you knew had written overtly threatening comments or similar how would you feel about them? I personally don't think it is like pub banter...that is done with people you know or can at least attempt to read as well as you can through immediate responses, body language etc....adjusting accordingly if you think you are just about to receive an upper cut.
  13. and thanks for the helpful info
  14. Yes...it's a complement...say thank you very much.
  15. Neil your Zed is horrible Do you feel part of it all now I now feel like a fully paid up member of the "we are resented...but we don't care" club - thank you
  16. Good point. So do I - plus I once had an orange 2CV so I am immune
  17. It is easy to see why they just leave them as they are...it falls into the "too difficult" box. On balance, even if I could do anything I wanted, I think I would leave them as they are, given the level of traffic and competence on display. It's only when you return from the Toll Roads in Spain, as I just have, that you realise how claustrophobic our roads are.
