  1. I used to be totally relaxed around the constabulary whilst driving, given that my father was Head of East Surrey's traffic department......until......one day....... The traffic officer who taught me how to drive caught me in radar trap. He rang my father saying "something rather embarrassing has happened sir". My Dad's retort was that I was a stupid **se and "throw the book at him". In consequence I received a fine and endorsement. All this was achieved in as series 3 Hillman Minx, column change, bench seat, acquired for £40 So, I am simply aghast at your doing 63 in a 60 in the presence of one of HRH's finest
  2. to Surrey. We are currently in Chertsey once a week because that's where Caroline's Physio/Re-hab place is. I also know Weybridge because I went to school in Ottershaw (plus a year at West Byfleet). You will also be near to Brooklands - lots of events on there Good choice.
  3. Bentley Continental GT for you next then Maybe a budget issue there Would have to be a Silver Shadow or Bentley T1/T2 (so perhaps not).
  4. Also try Jack Smith trimmers in Swansea (I think that's right). They have done a roof for someone on here and appear to have a good reputation and arevgood value for money.
  5. I am also working my way up the weight scale - Caterham (546kg) then Elise, then 350Z - now Jaguar

  7. That is a proper tyre problem
  8. I agree re 309 - I think it was even better than the 205 because it had a longer wheelbase.
  9. Heading into Coulsdon on A23. I was heading out towards Dartford to go to Dartford Transmissions for precautionary auto gearbox power flush, filter and oil change. Your Zed looked great

    The R33

Saw the car very briefly today and I have to say it is very impressive - condition is outstanding
  12. No worries Jeff just a bit of banter I had a single mass clutch / lightened flywheel on my Zed it would have stalled in 6th at 1,200 rpm, not burbled You should look at exhausts, there is everything from refined and burbly to what sounds like an elephant farting into a tuba SMD - I would be most interested to learn where you heard an elephant farting into a tuba? Is it on Youtuba? Oh...and a Jag forum...what a good idea...or maybe we could have our own section on this one? With my new Adamesh rear pipes I can now hear what a V8 sounds like
  13. Sorry to hear about this Katy. I share your pain as I managed to exit my driveway a little too rapidly a few years ago and gouged my passenger sill on one of my own rockery stones Sounds like yours will be fixed soon, hopefully
  14. Me either Neil which is why I stir them up, we are both ex Zed owners with a combined age of over 100 but didn't stop us giggling like schoolgirls when I gave you a demo of the miltek/berks & pop charger did it Sent from the golf club... Giggling like schoolgirls...how very dare you. Any vestige of street-cred that I had is gone in an instant (a net loss of precisely nil).
  15. I agree with NeilP about not necessarily judging - but if people qualify they will be displaying the proper blue badges with a photo card incorporated. I suspect our 1.2 Clio friends weren't displaying a badge It is frustrating. My wife has a blue badge. At present she can only travel as a passenger for short distances. With her latest setback she has been largely housebound for the last 2 months. Yesterday she felt well enough for us to drive 10 minutes down the road to Starbucks, who have a car park (she has to have the passenger seat reclining at 45 degrees). All she wanted was to lie back in the car, have a coffee and a bun and to see the world outside for half an hour. As usual both disabled spaces at Starbucks car park were taken by cars not displaying a badge. As is happens, after a few minutes we were lucky and got a "normal" space (the car park was full otherwise).
