  1. I think it's a trick of the light. If I looked at my old one from different angles it was ok. So you need to stand on one leg, lean over, glance at it from an angle of 42 degrees (at just after dawn) and it will look ok
  2. Good luck with this sale. You have certainly done all the critical bits so it's a great example for someone to do the finishing touches.
  3. Having seen these photos I will be sticking with Hastings.
  4. Not me....I recently jumped ship and have a black Jaguar XK8 4.0 auto now...but I'm still on here.
  5. That looks like the car park alongside Walton Bridge? I was there early am the other Sunday. There is a man with a fixed caravan who does a good coffee and bacon roll
  6. Not too shabby It takes a while for your brain to adjust - I think it's the close barriers/banking on both sides in the first section that are somewhat disconcerting, until it opens out.
  7. Or alternatively you could just learn how to post a photo on here. If I can do it, anyone can. I think there is a thread somewhere with instructions that even my mother-in-law could follow. Registering for, uploading photos to and using Photobucket to copy the appropriate links into this forum is remarkably easy.
  8. I thought this until I drove one. The experience is much more involving, the inputs much more precise, the feeling of speed is greater, even full on race cars cant replicate the feeling, you need to give it a go man +1
  9. I'll have another try. I wasn't suggesting a 164 - this happened to be a 164 with a space frame and v10 engine in it. If you click on the link there is a working video down the page. It wasn't a serious suggestion.
  10. How about one of these? I do realise that some people will think it needs spacers. I remember watching the videos at a Birmingham Motor show at the time the 164 came out. http://www.roadandtrack.com/racing/formula-one-v10s-hit-the-road
  11. Even though I currently have a 4.0 V8, I would never rule out a smaller engined very light car. Yes, it's a different experience but IMO you can't beat rowing a smaller engine along at full chat, coupled with the nimble feeling of so little weight transfer. Equally there are times when it's nice to waft along on a wave of torque - neither being better or worse - just different. I guess the latter is more relaxing but not as much fun (I would see the 4C as a weekend car).
  12. Nearly as nice as Jags no longer on the market
  13. The second one had a "breakdown"?
  14. Yes a 1.5 ti - for about 4 or 5 years. What a fantastic car that was. I would find any excuse to drive it. Bear in mind also that my previous car was a Morris Marina - so quite a contrast
  15. I have had two Alfas before and neither of them broke down (I only sold the Alfasud because it was just starting to develop a bit of rust - and I wanted to quit while I was still ahead). From the description I think the 4C would be very much my cup of tea. I reckon it will probably be a bit of a raw/seat-of-the-pants experience but I think smaller engines and lighter is the way to go. The badge is very evocative. Lighter, in particular, benefits everything (steering, braking, weight transfer, ride, acceleration). The driving experience is a very personal thing and I also find that you adapt to a cars individual characteristics over time. I love the telephone dial wheels - had similar on my 145QV.
