  1. Blimey - some interesting ones here. Renault Fuego........and what happened to all the Peugeot 504s - there were loads of them on the road at one stage. I haven't seen either for many years, even at classic car shows.
  2. Only other thing re cut-out I could think of is mounting angle of carbs (assuming it has carbs) - given that the engine is not in it's original application? My first thought was baffles in tank.
  3. My best mate had a Mk1 VW GTI at the same time I had my Alfasud - I have happy memories of some B road blasts with the 2 of us. I really loved his VW but my recollection is that the brakes required some serious welly to make them work? Which version of the Caterham 7 was that?
  4. Even though memory can be distorted by looking through rosy coloured glasses, it would be interesting to know which of members' previous cars they miss the most. Sometimes the choice is influenced by other factors - i.e.. it reminds you of a stage of life etc so it is often difficult to justify from a coldly logical perspective. Anyway, here is mine - an Alfasud Ti S. I am really annoyed that I never took any decent pictures of mine (silver with black vinyl roof ) but I have managed to find one on the internet (it was quite a rare "special edition"). I absolutely loved this car - bear in mind my previous car had been a Marina
  5. I wonder whether we will ever get bored with this debate - it would seem not To compound matters, I bought my XK8 with non-matching tyres on - I await my buttocks being thrashed At least I persuaded them to match them across the axles - phew
  6. I have nipple clamps I am beginning to worry about you now unless you are referring to something to hold your greasing devices steady.
  7. My Pops haven't been charged for some time....hmmmm
  8. Having done my calculations, I shall reach this mark when I am only 98. At that point I will be able to seek SMD's views on modifying my mobility scooter. We will be able to trundle to a nearby tunnel and compare the sound of our whining batteries Only a couple of years to go then Neil What a rude man - how did he get this far without being banned? There I was, just trying to be friendly This is what happens when you get a Jag.....oh hang on a minute And I already have a mobility scooter in my garage :o Tempting....

  11. I would also like to take this opportunity of welcoming you retrospectively to the forum
  12. Those wheels look good - I always think that colour combination works well
  13. http://blatchat.com (Lotus and Caterham 7 owners) was very good. This one takes a lot of beating for the mix of general, technical input, general friendliness and activity level.....hence why I am still here.
  14. I've driven a small number of single seaters including a Formula Palmer Audi car - not sure how similar that would be but, as stated above. there is a high dependancy on aerodynamics, tyre and brake temperature and smoothness of line and input to get the car to work properly. The difficulty is building up the degree of confidence you would require in the number of laps available (once you have exited the pits without stalling ). The more you can acquaint yourself with track layout, braking points etc before you do it the better. The best thing is just to enjoy it and hope it's dry.
