Sounds like there might be an issue with a switch or sensor but it is possible for them to work one day but not another! If you get anyone to look at it you are much better to find an independent with experience of the roof issues. Dealers don't have a great track record with them. I don't know your area but maybe someone else knows someone near?

Yes...cold conditions can affect it and isn't supposed to be used under 5c. Am assuming foot on brake all the time and safety catch fully released? Hopefully if it warms up and you try it a few times it will be ok.

I should say my above philosophy is based around the possibility that I could be run over by a bus at any time. You only live once. Nothing sensible there then. Good luck.

I'm sure you be able to something reasonable for £5k. Even though it's sensible I couldn't wait a year to get a car I wanted. I have to have them immediately and most sense goes out of the window. Lucky so far (in the main). I wouldn't worry too much about uk or import at that price....just get the best one you can condition and history wise.

never should of joined the jag crew!!! I was being a bit unfair on it. Had a troublesome issue which took a few days to crack. Solved it now but I don't think I have the patience for car problems any more. They should just work like my ancient Toyotas do. I hope you're wrong?

Errr .......... I dont think you are right mate. Ive regularly dropped pressures in snow for increased grip, although narrow tyres are defintiely better raising them isnt going to make the tyre any narrower, it will just be harder. I remember getting totally stuck in one of my old Deltas, dropped pressure as much as I dared and it was like a different car, the snow that had stopped me now wasnt an issue at all. Id add that the construction of an MPSS means it wont get much more of a footprint, but anything is better than nothing Must confess that I thought the same but was temporarily deferring to the judgement of the resident tyre guru This would tie in with the logic of winter tyres being softer as per my earlier post.
