  1. I was in an ancient Toyota with a sun-bed on the roof rack on my way back from Biarritz.
  2. You certainly get a lot of different variations of "Dich" for your money
  3. Like the sound of the Clio. I drove my niece's Cooper S and found it quite disappointing (mainly lacking in feel for my tastes) but I know many people love them.
  4. I think (!) the things I have learned over the years are: - it's ok to take a small profit quickly - set limits and stick to them (a bit like auction strategy) - if things are going a pear shaped it's better to take a small loss quickly than hang on doggedly - go with your instinct (much harder than it sounds) - spend us much time as possible studying/watching the thing you're investing in so that you develop a better feel for patterns and potential oversold/overbought situations (admittedly difficult with something as broad as an Index
  5. Irrespective of the fun argument, It think it's mighty impressive that these cars are capable of that level of economy if so (or ever) desired.
  6. Just a few too many negative signs for my liking so I bailed out today in order to be able to fight another day (it's never wrong to take a profit). Much of what has been seen hitherto has been the product of various government/central bank interventions so we are still a long way away from "normality". It could get nasty (but maybe not - what do I know). I feel like Del Boy - "One day etc".
  7. Great stuff- thanks. Also I always liked the old photos from places like Brooklands - particularly the ones behind the scenes.
  8. I lost interest in doing my own after my last Caterham (which was easy anyway). Have gone to independent specialists for Elise. 350Z and now Jag. I have to be honest that, as much as I am impressed by people who do all their own work, when it comes to buying one I would prefer a car that had a good specialist/independent/dealer history - assuming we are talking about spending a few thousand pounds. This may be irrational but it's what I've done so far. I like to make quick purchase decisions - I get bored easily. I don't have a garage anymore - but that's probably not an excuse
  9. "Sewer Protection Officer". I think the official title is Sewer Health Inspection Technician .
