Just glanced over two pages and then skipped tbh, but seems to be about the handling and 'usuable' performance of the Z. I'm quite happy to admit I 'use' the Zed, theres no point in buying something like it and not having fun ..as long as your not stupid. Example.... Wet road, Focus ST decides to hound my backside, quiet industrial estate... so I think, ok I'll give you a bit to bite into... so I floor it down a straight, he chases, get to a roundabout, I'm done...I'm going to work. He goes round the roundabout in the wrong lane to get passed me and shoots up the road overtaking a few cars... Did I keep going? No... as people have said it takes a bit of skill and the Z shouldn't be taken likely in wet weather, I don't think I would have caught him as his FWD is not gonna slide about like a Z when your trying to take off in 2nd at power. If you want to have the same kinda 'fun' like a FWD hot hatch, you won't get that in the Zed. That rampant, high reving mental state does not apply. Its more torque, power, sound and when driving you get rewards from smooth "skilled.." driving. You just let the rear glide round a wee corner and you control it well, there that was fun you kept it in check, you enjoyed it. etc etc... Z's not really a ...fire into a corner and chuck it kinda car. ] God that was painful.... like basically advising the Z is not the car to buy lol!

Todays Spot no.2 Black 370Z Coupe near Strathclyde Park
AMT replied to AMT's topic in Spotted or Flyered
Ah well... someone out their in a 370Z needs to join the forum then and be sad like us lol -
Its a keeper for sooo many reasons; (flashed passed most of the previous so if im repeating..meh lol) -Its got that chunky, big arch, long bonnet (even tho its short), don't f*ck with me look lol Mainly its DIFFERENT and thats good compared to the usual Z4's, Tittys and the like. If someone has to ask you what it is or suggests its something more... thats not bad  -Despite the possible horrendous fuel economy etc, its doable, its not bad on insurance, their reansably cheap to buy for what they are. Put it this way I paid £15K for a last of the line car (jan09' reg'd) and it has 309bhp and the same rough performance of a NEW SL350...they start at around £70K I think... I know which I'd rather have to be honest... even if I had the £70K (certainly not a merc anyway..) -THE SOUND -The way people hover round it.... literally came out the fort and a couple and some others just standing over it Only thing that might cause me to get rid of it in years is the mileage and how its 'worn' it. But i'll be keeping it good! I can't see other cars I want in future (as I need to look at ones out now for used in the future) besides the 370Z (even though I'm secretly not the biggest fan of it...) but will end up buying one anyway if I can still have a car like this in the future lol its a KEEPER!

I too would rather have an Aventador (if you've been watching vids recently its not far off a Veyron with acceleration...which is astonishing ), the Aston is nice but way too pricey and the F12 is the first GT Ferrari I've like since the 550... besides those stupid flappy paddles and I can't mind but I bet it has those buttons on the wheel too....god almighty. I'll have a Silver Aventador please
-
I see your modified Astra...and raise you with......THIS ONE! I really like the 'Aston-like' side gill things...sets it off well I think...
-
Love it...just not in that colour lol Sounds amazing!

I agree theres never gonna be a right answer, you don't know until you have your own self in the car in that situation. The 6 rocket boosters I duck-taped to the backbox will hopefully help me now though...
-
I did find it odd someone just...declaring their income but meh, if so good on ya'.. but at that coming in, I'd be looking elsewhere bar' a Zed unless your not into big spending lol (thats like £52K a year...after tax so god knows what your income before it could be lol) And by chance I've looked at a magazine sitting... you know you could afford a monthly amount for a Gallardo don't you or a GTR....?... and still have ££££'s left lol I'm verging on Ian/Spoonys thoughts lol Sorry! ... I hope I'm wrong
-
Hopefully with Infiniti they could give one and something on equal terms, doesn't have to be as powerful just.... not a crap car lol. I look after my adequitly powered 350... I'll look after whatever I get for a courtesy car...(eg. I'm not putting a fiesta in and asking for an AMG Merc...lol)
-
I think you might be right about the colour. The red it kept being advertised in looked good
-
Thats true, I've seen some outrageously good XKs for superb money. I'd still rather have an F-Type than any Porsche since most are not particularly nice looking or special looking (although I kinda like the new 911 and especially its interior...at last)... yet I still have a 'thing' for the 911 GT3 RS... I have no idea why... maybe the wing?... lol
-
Question!.. When your cars in for a service would most places give you a courtesy car? (tries to think back to any family cars going in etc)... eg. If I take my Z to Infiniti, which I plan on doing, would they give you a courtesy car. Now ignore the 'oooh i want a shot of a car', theres a serious point.. I don't live handy to places where I can get serviced lol. Don't like the fact I'd have to sit in a dealer to wait if I couldn't get a lift. Anyone from Infiniti feel free to answer *cough* Jason *cough* lol

Admiral have been good with me, kept coming down with the Coupe and they quoted me just over £1K for the 350Z (26yrs, 2NCB, 3points). So I'm expecting it to be below the 1K mark next November. Possibly if I'm lucky with this talk of not using male/female as a basis, a good bit less! Can only hope!

 and.. ...I agree with this . No one should look at this and go.... well its ok..lol The normal astra VXR is Chav enough...(love it when they stare at the Z going by... haha... I'm so not being a d*ck to VXR drivers )

I got that little App 'FuelLog'. Although all of mine are always partial fill-ups the more you do the more accurate it should get. But I can give you an idea of the petrol with V-Power from my local. I do 15miles to work and back 5 days a week...(ive been off for over a week for xmas hols). So this is work general driving and messing around (overtaking etc)... So...I work it from the day I get paid til last fill up to the same time the following month, gonna put a last £30 in it tonight, should hopefully last me to the 15th Jan (    <--- note these)...so monthly amount your looking around £300 per month. Make sure you know your running costs lol. You'll love it though!

I'm not a betting man... but if it does come...I want your car...

This thread could go on and on lol But I do see the harmlessness fun we all have in us...(but won't admit it lol) 3rd does you fine usually I find, but depends on the speed of the thing infront of you, the distance til the next car/corner, you might be able to sail past in 5th depending on your speed (and im not talking mega mph here). Just ...if your not used to it, don't put your foot hard down in 2nd when its wet or even damp the back can kick out and the ESP thingy will cut in leaving you in the middle of a manouver with no power...which you don't want, feed the power in. But most of all BE SAFE

Black 370Z, heading up the way from the Carridgeway next to Strathy'(about 2pm), I was headin' down and flashed, although I got a look that said "who the f*cks that...".. so I'm prob gonna say possibly not on here? lol

I sometimes forget how short the Z is too, parked next to a Coupe in Asda few weeks ago and forgot how long my old car was lol. The Jag does look wee, but spose thats a good thing, small but still with presence? Cos' its flat it'll look wide and give it a bit of an appearance but yeah... fits in a space lol
