  1. Don't slam it! It seems from what I can see better to push it down. Doesn't take any effort, just a gentle push lol
  2. Do you hear anything when pushing the stalk? If not could be the pump. Only other way it might not work is when its frosty. Mines froze and wouldnt work until defrosted later in the day. No wonder it took me more than FIVE goes with a big empty plastic coke bottle to put water in!! And I still didn't know when it was full, there doesn't seem to be a way of telling? Last car I could look down the tube but its all tight in there and...black plastic...(awesome.. lol) I too have had the washer blues...Lesson...do not overfill with antifreeze washer stuff....it covers your car with foam and you end up having to pour water all over the bonnet straight away to make sure it doesn't mark lol I like them.. I just wish there was an OFF switch lol
  3. Is the BRZ not sold here? Just the GT86?. Yeah that was along my thinking, as I said not my cup of tea, but as a car fan you know an Impreza is a bit of 'icon' thing in motoring. Didn't realise the sales were that bad, prob people opt for 2nd hand buying now for older ones. New ones didn't seem to have an appeal, although I did come across one of those new Imprezas (unsure if one of the rare cossie powered ones) but it had 4 exhausts and over took quite a few cars on a 60road like it didn't care lol Fast buggers..
  4. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/14/subaru-axes-wrx-and-sti-in-uk/ Not a particular fan of either scoobys or evos, but seen this and thought it was a bit of a shocker. No more Imprezas for the UK after summer next year, just gonna kill it off over here by the looks of it.
  5. I've got three keys and the 'basic - master?' one without the central locking buttons seems to lock and open it. Also confirmed by the manual. Mines is always left open though. Handy to get into the fire extinquisher that the last person left with full emergency kit... god knows what they were expecting to happen.. lol
  6. Aw no I hate that stuff, leaves all the 'gunk' on your window. And even still, doesn't get it first time lol. Bin... thats where you can put your de-icer lol Plus howz that gonna help in tight bits like a fuel filler?....aha... aw god people do realise this is a joke eh? lol
  7. It doesn't... lol Unless you have a poorly sealed car. I had this worry when I got it cos' every Nissan I'd seen had ice on the INSIDE of the windows Didn't happen with my last car, didn't even happen with my £900 99' Corsa I had as my first car... but my Zed.. fine, not an issue. I leave the water in while im in at work, just fine when I come out...ready to save the day....see.. Life saving bottle of tepid water... get one while its hot....er..tepid
  8. Ok, so I'm not one of these people who sit around scraping windows... use a big coke bottle of very VERY cold water lol and it'll still be slightly warmer than the ice, gently apply and wipe..easy. Before leavin, fill back up again and sit in the passenger footwell incase ur wipers freeze up etc. BUT... theres many many other uses for this... Went for petrol...and its -3... mmmm, got to the petrol station, cap won't open... HOLD ON! I'll use my life saving bottle of tepid water! BANG...its open...twist inside cap off, VPower ..in...close cap... aha... problem...the plastic cable bit that spins around the cap is frozen...BOTTLE OF WATER (being careful not to get it in the fuel side of the cap)....works a treat... twist shut, close filler lid.....it won't close... and you quickly glance some sort of stub and assume you've broke something...DAMMIT. Pay for petrol take home, torch out...find its just a support stub thing and the issue is the latch and the hole for the latch has ice...(again being careful where you put it) ...apply said life saving bottle of tepid water....BANG and the lid is shut...so... Always...carry a bottle of water with you... Winter adventures, don't you just love em'! I'm gonna market this stuff....
  9. Hmm wonder if I should try this ...traction control off stuff.... sounds horrific yet, its bad enough with it on mind you...lol
  10. ... The looks, the sound... ohhh god the sound! The grunt, the way it just makes you feel special... you're not in an average run of the mill car not matter what someones tells you lol The lowness! I don't ever want to be any higher in a car than this, feel like your drivin a bus when you have a go in a hatchback afterwards. And yeah, you do the double take... thats mine, oh yes. lol You'll love it!
  11. Thats the minor yet still annoying hill to go pick up my mate in the morning, turned it around at the top. ...slooowww n' steady..especially going down lol. Sheet ice...gotta love it. Its more dangerous going down the hill as slightest little brake can upset it lol My avoidance for public transport is doing not bad so far.
  12. true lol. Prob nost this year but may think about some winter tyres for next year if they were good enough for a normal-ish drive. But its gone for now so... phew. No public transport for me just yet...
  13. ... I did notice when ..helpfully being stuck in my uncles drive for a bit that reversing seems a better way, I may park head on in the snow, although now if its snowing I'll likely be 'enjoying' the train. (Hopefully these will be off if its that bad and I can go back to bed)
  14. Near Harthill mate. Any surrounding area of there always gets snow bad, even bloody gets dark n dreery' when your on the motorway... coming from glasgow?... crap weather in the middle, coming from edinburgh?... crap weather in the middle lol
  15. The rain took most of the snow away, so I decided to go see my uncle. Hes got a not bad house, long drive in up a hill and into a big bit at the back, ahhh, it'll be fine now, the temps up..... I drive in head first, go to reverse ...and all the happens is I slide closer down the hill towards his outside benches and concrete steps.. Got within a rulers length of a bench but managed to gently... god every so gently back it up then turn round. It was only slushy ice like stuff! lol Horrendous Definatley not worth the risk to the car or me, next time ..train. Why do I have to live in a place where every exit out of it is a big hill....lol
  16. Well I made it, the main roads and M8 were fine all the snow was away and it was raining but the road I pick my m8 up in is vile. even in 5th gear with hardly any throttle and going slow it was squirming, but we survived. Picking away in the snow was the most annoying bit, forgot what drive it was and resorted to tiny pick away and quickly up the gears but that doesn't work with RWD lol. So next time I think i'll be easing out the clutch and letting it roll away and then slowly heading up gears, let the car do the moving as aposed to my right foot spinning up the rears. On a 60 road out of my town had a nice line of traffic behind me, including a Focus ST, who kindly gave me the distance behind me as aposed to sitting on my backside. Thanks for the advice RT! Good wee list there Anyway should only be here for today... thankfully lol I now know its limit... not very much. I see a train coming soon
  17. My 58' does this, press the button on the back and it pops it but then again to actually release it. Meh, I'll deal with it lol Hardly use the back bit of the boot anyway, all the stuff gets shove in via the drivers seat (ive got the panel splitter thing on the Z bar)
  18. Nah there actually not bad. The later models done away with the horrid bit on the steering wheel I think but its more up to yourself if you could live with them.
  19. lol Just checked the weather its meant to rain and be around 3C tomorrow... I hope it is...bloody snow. Regardless... I need to get to work and I refuse to get a train for some light snow... (hoping he doesnt wake up in winter wonderland tomorrow)...
  20. Well, my sis just shouted...its snowing, looked out the window and yep, that son of a b****'n white stuff is coming down, lightly but still coming. I've been out in -2C and its been fine, so... Falkens and tomorrows trip to work. I can only hope it doesn't lie ...(looks out window again... yes it is lying ). That bad winter we had, there was a new 3 series infront of me and he did better than most people that day, if he can do it in that, I'm gonna give it a bash.... I'll let you know how I get on ..wish me luck....lol
  21. ..... when they hit you... they hit your hard
  22. Nah you are right, I like numbers and power lol I've no doubt it'll be a good little fun car, but... I'd rather have the big bruiser lol And yeah... TUUUNE!
  23. I dunno about the Supra 'showing its age', if its clean and has the black lenses at the front, it looks good to me (good set of alloys on it tho...standards were guff), its the interior thats not so good. Nice idea with the shape and facing the driver etc, but manuals are hard to find now I think? And a lot I see have that horrid cloth interior with god knows what colours ...spat across the seat lol Same with everything I suppose, my m8s Celica T-Sport has all the bits you want, swoopy dash leading into a transmission tunnel.... yet its made of light grey cheap as hell plastic lol. RX-7... Mmmm, now I hate bodykits ..mostly but a nice wide one suits a mazda rx-7 so well In regards to the GT86, I'm not sold on it yet. Every mag says it drives well, which is fair nuff, but still a bit undecided on the looks and especially the interior. Arnold Clark (glasgow..somwhere?) called me to say they had a GT86 in and to see if I wanted a test drive as they'd been informed (took my name off a previous mailing list) that I'd been looking for a new car lol. So I said to the lady... yes, yes i am... "have you been looking at anything else?".... yep, 350Z, some hot hatches..."oh yes there nice, the GT86 has nearly 200bhp and does 0-60 in...and on on...." well I'll pass thanks "is there something about the car your not sure on...anything we can help with?".... well, you want me to pay £25K for a car thats slower than the car it replaces and even tho its more modern, costs £6K more than a new Celica at the time, when I can buy a Zed for just over half that and have around 300bhp... "oh...thanks for your time..." lol!
