I am now after my second Zed, problem is all the ones that meet my criteria are too far away for me to look at. I am very fussy about the body work, is there anyway I can get the body worked checked before I go there? I see the AA and the like to inspections but they seem to cover loads (more than I need TBH) and are quite expensive, has anyone used any other companies they would recommend, I only wanna find out if its been chipped scratched etc etc. Thanks Dom

Are you based in jersey? It would be a bit of a trek. This car could well be what I am after but its too far away, also 15k is too much IMO. I have just seen exactly the same car in twilight blue sell for 13k at a garage today

I came from a mk4 golf turbo to a 350z, first thing I notice was how much better the handling was! But I know type R's are alot better that golfs in that resoect. Petrol wise I get 20mpg but I do most of my miles in the city. I did notice the loss of practicality in terms of space but I have got another car for the 'practical' stuff. The change to RWD is very enjoyable but it becomes a pain in the winter as driving is the snow and ice becomes more difficult, also I find with a FWD you can get away with alot more than with a RWD when your finding out where the limits of car are. With the golf is was a case of ooo oversteer I better back off, with the Zed it would be a case of hmm why are there branches poking in my face! Just treat the car with respect

Nice Setup, do you find it boomey on the motorway? I would have thought you would be running lean in the upper rev range? Just a guess TBH, I think you need to speak to abby as they are more in the know or see if you can find a AFR graph and only drive it in the rev range where it was quite rich?

If you decided to branch out from Jap cars you should look at the VAG (Vw, Skoda and Audi etc) tuning scene, there is alot of young lads who have got Mk4 Golfs out there with money to burn... I should know I was one of them! If you look at it from a stock perpective you could have a part which is suitable for a Golf,a Fabia, a A3 and a leon all because they all share the same engines. I would think stay away from servicing parts for the 350z & 370z as there are alot of traders on this forum already doing a great job? Just my 2p

How often with a stock airbox + filter do we need to clean the throttle body?

I would say you would be lucky TBH to get it under a grand. Also as your doing it you might as well do the clutch as well. Soon adds up to a big bill

Just out of curiosity, with the DE Zed at what point is it best to change gear in terms of rpm to get the best acceleration?

I two have had this with a corsa VXR. You will find after 60 you will start to pull away slowly. Thing that makes me laugh if he said he had a little more left on the throttle why didnt he use it? Has anyoe here tracked the two? I have tracked a VXR corsa but not a Zed, just curious what the race would be like if you added some corners in? Even if the corsa beat the Zed I would still have a Zed any day of the week!

And I thought I was in a rush home from work on the late shift! There were some proper snug passes going on there, good skills but in the long run its only gonna end one way...

Dont hold back! +1 I am 26 and for the money I was spending I could have got an EVO or a Scooby but I didnt because I wanted to be different. Loads of people round where I live have Scoobys to the point that they are the norm, no one looks at them. I can drive around slowly getting people pointing at the Zed because its a classy car. No one takes any notice of the 10th scooby they have seen that day, the only time I see people point at them round here is when they start driving like a muppet in a 30. Not the same car, money means nothing. For a decent 15k Zed you could also get a M3, Corvette, Mustang, Monaro, Evo, Scooby etc. Different cars, if you want a fast I mean real fast you buy a Evo or a Skyline. If you want a bit more luxury, style and less bothered about speed and handling etc you buy a M3 or a Zed. Very different cars for very different reasons. The only comparable thing is the price tbh. All excellent in their own right. You're right, they are completely different cars I never said they were Just more what fell into my budget. For me its was more important to have something different and suited to my needs. I do see some frustrated owners of other cars because they think their car is special, but so do the other 10 people of the same street who own one. I know EVO's etc would be better suited to track work, but I dont hit many tracks on the way to work

May I ask what speed you set your cruise control to?

+1 I have heard this as well, maybe give the guys at Abbey Motorsport a shout as they are very clued up on this as I suspect you will find your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Yes i saw that. Thats Crunch,Marks No1 mechanic. I couldnt really believe it myself to be honest,was abit shocking. But hes entitled to his views and opinions. Not being funny but if you wanted to cheat I sure JB could have thought of something abit more effective than that, especially when that **** up lost JB the lead at that point in the race.

From what I could tell they both made the same mistake! Spanking the power when cornering!
