About 30 grand for a start! RS3 got Audis usual Evo review this month: Fast, Comfortable, Great Interior, Lacks some Driver Involvement. +1 I have heard that, someone I knew had one (was an older one tho) and he said his Civic Type R was waaaay more fun?!

I have heard the same with the Amuse exhausts, does anyone know if this is true? I really really want the Amuse exhaust but I wont risk it if they keep breaking. Out of interest what did you replace yours with Alex?

Looks epic... I did notice there was one box already in the back of that van, is that also yours? (or did all the kit have to be split over two boxes?)

I will speak to the garage tomorrow and see what they will do.

*breathes* I got my Mrs to take he car to get serviced a couple of weeks ago. We have always known the exhaust is blowing somewhere. Recently this has got worse and when I have driven the car sometimes I have smelt fumes coming through the air con. So when my Mrs came back from dropping her friend off, I said say in the car we will work out where this leak is. I thought because I could smell fumes the blow might be in the engine bay so I asked Amy to open up bonnet. To my horror the engine oil cap was not on, there was oil everywhere. I told Amy to switch the engine off and get inside as I was about to go mental. After I had calmed myself down I checked the oil level of the car and the car was going downhill and looking at the dipstick it was half empty so I have given it a good glug of oil and I managed to find the oil cap in the lower subframe and put it back on. I took pictures of everything and I will speaking to the garage on Monday. I cannot find the words or the emotions to express how angry I am. I take it this will have royally screwed the upper part of the engine? Would any one be able to give me any advice how I should further proceed with this? The car is a Honda Civic, the cars done about 100 miles since the service. Thanks

I just love the strut the guy has when he gets out of the car before the copper nails him -
This is just my 2p, If you dont care about fuel consumption... VW R32 If you do... Seat Leon Cupra R Skoda Fabia VRS I know some one who had a Civic Type R, Audi RS4 and then a Porsche. He said that the Type R was more fun than the RS4. What are you after? Fun or Comfort? I havent been in a Type R so I cant give any advice, one question I do have for Type R owners is what are they like at motorway speeds? Are they noisy?

I would have said "yeah mate shes yours for 30k!"

hmm I suspect yours might be out of my budget, feel free to pm me a ball park figure. Thanks for the advice all of you I just wanna get a bike sorted and get out there!
-
Haha! Yeah Yeah alright I know all I can say is there was alot of hills! I am looking forward to getting out there once the clocks go back. I did that ride on a old raleigh racer which I borrowed, its a small sprint bike (I am 6"2!) with a reynolds frame I think it was. I am now looking for a new bike which is better suited to my height and something which is abit more modern, however I am on a budget as I have my wedding in Oct. If I am doing a 100 miler does my training rides need to be 100 miles?
-
Are you watching me?! I am just getting into peddling, I did a charity ride last year which was a 100 miles! Which I know for your experienced lot is not that far... but I did it last minute and my training went like this 12 mile, 26 mile, 62 mile then the 100. Needless to say I was sore and I didnt want to look at a bike for a while. This year I am gonna training properly and try and beat my 15mph average speed.

Personally I would wait until you get the car as I have found the BOSE head unit to be rubbish and CD's keep skipping. I would save up for a top of the range double din head unit to replace it with built in sat nav. Just my 2p! Enjoy your new car! -

350Z - "Knocking" / Uneven running 2005 UK model
Dom187 replied to tenchijin's topic in 350Z Technical
LTFT always at 5% hmmm thats a reading from the MAF right? Have you tried an ECU reset? Do you know anyone who has a Zed? I would try swapping out the MAF for a known good one and see if that works. I know from when I had my Golf, the cars dont seem to know when a MAF has gone bad from my experience. Maybe worth a shot? Where abouts are you located? -
I believe if you even attempt to Jam any speed camera so they cant detect your speed you will be grabbing your ankles... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/new ... anned.html I know this is rare case but I think they are going to try and crackdown on these in the future.

I have got a silver Zed and when its clean I get alot of attention, but as other say they do tend to blend in alot more. I used to have a Golf and I spend ages choosing a nice exhaust for it but what I used to find was people would hear the car then turn and look and be like 'oh its just a golf' and look away. Now they turn and keep looking. I had a amusing incident at work the other day... I forgot my car pass for the car park so I parked up and went to the guy who watches over the car park who I have never spoken to before. I said to him' sorry mate I have forgotten my pass is it ok if I still park here?' he replied without looking at anything for even stopping for thought 'Dom...350z?' I was gobsmacked as I had only been parking there about two weeks!

really have you been out in an MX5? supurb handling, great balance, its a treat to drive, if i was buying a cheap track car this would be right up there. like i said car arrogance and ignorance comes from drivers of all cars No ignorance here fella... Yeah I have driven my mates one several times before he got his Z4, very light on its toes but at the end of the day they dont have a massive amount of power and I never said they were no fun. It is alot better than his current Z4 truth be told as its only a 2.0l. I am not slating them they are very good cars and I believe they have won many awards, but most of the models are not that fast. sorry, just used to people who've never tried a car slating it. come across alot on here who believe the zed to be so much more than it actually is and looking doen their nose at other things. its a syndrome i like to call zed tinted glasses. glad to see your not a sufferer No worries fella when I was on the MK4 Golf forums people used to bang on about how great they are and even how well they handled mine handled like a Blancmange! At the end of the day one mans dream car is another mans nightmare so long as we are all happy what keys we pickup when we go out thats all that matters!

X5 = Chelsea tractor As mentioned, take him out on a country road and show him what the 'hair dressers' car is capable of. A 'hair dressers' car is something more like a MX-5, as an MX-5 is more show than go. (Dont get me wrong I like MX-5's) Tell your mate to use the term correctly!

Well credit to the garage involved they have agreed to replace the gearbox oil regardless if it makes the car better, reason being they used 'Autodata' to work out what oil to use in the gearbox which came out as - EP80W90GL4 which is the wrong viscosity! I also put molyslip in the gearbox when the oil got changed to the wrong stuff (it should have been 75W85 for my gearbox and the oil differs depending on gearbox I believe, speak to ZMANALEX hes the man when it comes to getting the right oil for your car) then I had the issue with changing from first to second. I have brought some more Molyslip... do I put it in again when the proper oil gets put in? Has anyone here used Molyslip for a long time? Has anyone here had any negative effects when using it?
-
Check the gearbox is sound, changing from first to second can be abit hit and miss so make sure thats smooth. Check for uneven rear tyre wear. Check the exhaust for rust and that its not blowing as some corrode and need replacing. Also check the rear suspension and make sure it does not clunk. Cant think of anything more. I think there might be a sticky somewhere about what to look for.
