  1. I went the other way. I used to live in Harrow and then Pinner before moving down to Bournemouth 10 years ago. No I didn't retire!!!!
  2. Faint heart never won Fairlady so I've decided just to go for it. It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission.
  3. *rse! The bloke traded it in instead of accepting my generous offer.
  4. Glad to hear that it works so well. I tried every Portable DAB on the market and the only one that was any good in Dorzet is the the Clarity (IMHO). The Chairman of Digital One lives in Harrow so he is obviously looking after No 1.
  5. What about brake pads and discs? How much do they normally cost?
  6. I'm pretty sure that i tried that one and it's reception was not great. I used to use a battery powered Goodmans Personal DAB in the car but the Clarity that I have got now is much better as it's ready to go when you switch the car on. (no batteries) http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Clarity_CDAB7-AUTO_DAB_car_radio.html You can get it for £50 if you don't get an external aerial. It works really well in my Touran with it's own aerial but for some reason I need the external one in the BMW.

    That looks really good!
  8. I've tried loads of different models including the Highway with the stick on aerial and to be honest I was disappointed with all of them. Maybe the signal is not great on the South Coast. I spoke to the Chairman (a friend) of Digital One (commercial stations) and he promised to get the signal cranked up on the M3 for my commute. Since then it seems to be a little better.
  9. I've got something similar in my BMW . It's a Clarity In Car DAB http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Clarity_CDAB7-AUTO_DAB_car_radio.html that I have got connected to the cigarette lighter and aux-in in my centre console. The aerial is a magnetic job which is meant to be mounted outside but I find that it works quite well stuck upside down to the boot lid. It's a neat install with no batteries or fiddling around but occasionally drops out around town. As the Z has got an external aerial (unlike the BMW) I could probably get much better reception if I used a proper external DAB/FM aerial. If I can find one thats fits. Unfortunately they all seem to be roof mounted. http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/DAB_car_aerials.html
  10. Has anybody succesfully installed a HU with DAB? More importantly did you manage to find a DAB aerial that you can use to replace the OEM aerial? The aerial always seems to be the weakest link when trying to get half decent DAB reception. Yes yes I know that DAB is sh*t but it's the only way that I can pick up Planet Rock in the car.
  11. Mileage is a bit high for me unfortunatley. I do about 20k miles every year and I want the car to last about 3-4 years
  12. In their defence, they have had the front bumper resprayed now. The rest of the car its still a bit shite tho. What is your criteria? 313GT Any age, under 50k miles, Bluetooth if possible, any colour, black seats
  13. David, That is an absolute beauty and exactly what I am after but unfortunately it's about £2.5k over my budget :-( Gutted!! Cheers Boyd
  14. Team, What are Zs like for internal dash rattles? I am a bit OCD when it comes to rattles and have found a lovely car but it seems to have a rattles from the front offside air vent. Anyody got experience of this? Cheers Boyd
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I was going to have a look at this car but spotted that the front bumper looked a bit ropey. Three of the four cars that I have lookd at have been "well used". Do car dealers not know how to prepare cars anymore?
  16. Pop round to Winton and I will do you a really cheap job with my lump hammer Seriously though good luck!
  17. FFS my very sensible and intelligent wife is trying to veto the whole deal!!!!! *rse! She want me to keep the 320 but where is the fun in that!
  18. Guys thanks for all the comments. Worrying and reassuring!
  19. Right I'll check the state of the oil and it looks ok make him an offer. I've got my BMW sold to my mum so "Happy Days"
  20. It is a worry but on the plus side the car is absolutely immaculate and I could possibly use the excessively low mileage to knock them down (a lot). The other thing that I am not totally sure about is the colour which is "grey". I'd prefer Azure Blue, Silver or Black. Again on the plus side the single owner from new is a mature non-smoker who lives in a very nice area so obviously has plenty of money to maintain the car. It has 3 service stamps from Nissan which I believe is a FNSH.
