  1. Its not quite that simple. I can't just leave without being paid. My plans are rather precariously balanced and losing around 5k in wages puts a rather large hole in them.
  2. I'm sure it will mate. When I highlighted the stress problem in the department and recommended a risk assessment was carried out (as per the health and safety course we had just been told to complete) my boss forwarded my email onto HR backing up the recommendation.......they immediately contacted the head of site......he called my boss over and asked him if he 'was a ****ing idiot'. I quit 3 days later to the tune of a 2 page resignation letter begging for gardening leave as I was a risk to the business and felt that my health would not hold out for the duration of the 3 month notice period (I offered to do a short handover to my replacement though) Not one single acknowledgement from senior management or HR.
  3. Germans Actually it's a uk company with a German client. I used to work for the Germans and then was offloaded to this lot. My captions was 'refuse gardening leave eh? Let's see what our German client makes of this on Monday :-D'..........anyone would think I clubbed a baby seal to death whilst goose stepping in an SS uniform!
  4. To be honest they would be absolutely mentol if they try to sack me - Walk away with notice period wound down - Dismiss and have potential unfair dismissal claim headed inbound. Not rocket science is it especially given the total dereliction of care that I've pointed out time and time again regarding ill health and stress in the company. Regardless I feel sick to my stomach at the thought of even setting a foot over the front door so I don't see me returning to that office before the end if my notice.
  5. Exactly what I wrote on here near as dammit
  6. Meh.....just one of those things. I still don't really see what the problem is?! I haven't made any defamatory or derogatory comments but fair enough if that's the interpretation of it. Probably and idea if I edit this one really.
  7. Exactly. Excellent, excellent point sir. More to the point, that shows very poor management on their part. Why give something that important to someone who's leaving? It's just a massive risk they don't need to take, especially if you don't finish it before you leave. I would relax and not worry about it so much, as long as you are working 9-5 then there's very little they can do or expect. Are you relying on a good reference? Potentially when I get back from Oz next March. Apparently they only give very basic references anyway. Re what Vik asked I rather naively out that pic on FB with that caption......apparently what I deem to be a light hearted joke they deem to be gross misconduct. I'm off sick at the moment because it's tipped an already stressed out head to full scale anxiety attacks etc. Got docs on Friday......I don't see a return to the office at any point at this point.
  8. All good points. Pretty tough with a quarter of a year notice period though. Bare minimums difficult to do when they fail to acknowledge any of the stress your under and subsequent impact on your health that you've laid out in your 2 page resignation letter and instead give you a high profile, high pressure project to finish right up to the day you leave.
  9. No but they are threatening to sack me and I'm not joking!
  10. Provided the family consented it's about the best idea I've heard and good on them for having the balls to do It.
  11. The correct answer is, of course, to bin it as you are no longer 12 years old and at school, and to buy something with a single strap that goes over the shoulder. Notable exceptions to this rule include any sac designed to carry fluids for those marathons, or dressing up as a Ghostbuster with proton pack for parties. Tell you what......you show me (with your back) you carrying round 30kgs of worldly possessions round the highways and byways of Oz, whilst desperately running away from rabid koala's for 4 months ..........on one shoulder .........and I'll admit that I'm a big bufty for getting a proper one!
  12. Meh bottled it and shaved it off. I am going to have to just shat meself in work soon though......get sent home on medical grounds or something. Longest 6 weeks of my life this is going to be
  13. Christ that'll be a fecking anti climax for someone!
  14. Working out how the feck to wear my backpack. It's got more straps than a bad night a SMD's house!
  15. The first pic reminds me of an English actor from the 70's but I can't think of his name!
  16. I think someone referred to it as a young Michael Palin!
  17. I was but I shaved it for the toothbrush then I bottled it with that one too I think I might keep this style for a bit once I have sufficent facial hair again!
  18. I think it's more like the fact that there is a Mitchelin on the left front, Conti on the right front, ditchfinder rear right, Goodyear rear left! 4ws may have a problem but it drives so for the next 6 weeks I'm not arsed! It's just a nice car to drive. Off to oz until about March next year........time to enjoy a bit of life methinks
  19. 'Two' many clicks. Hahahahaha.......said like a true member of my generation
  20. It's the 4ws version.....bloody weird feeling trying to back into a space!
  21. No mate it was just something to potter around in for the next few weeks. I think it's just a normal 2.2 VTi, 200bhp jobbie. Lovely engine. It's done 113k but it absolutely purrs. Not seen it in daylight yet.....thing the bodywork is a little battle scarred. Will get tracking done tomorrow to try and fix the pull.......if that doesn't fix it then it can just stay pulling for the next 6 weeks! lol.
  22. Couldnt get the 'free car' taxed as the girl who owns it that I'm meeting in oz only has off road insurance so I had a quick auto trader squiz for something to knock around in for the next 6 weeks. Found a honda prelude 2.2 vtec 200bph with one lady owner (72 year old!) for the last 13 years. 9 months mot and one months tax.......picked up tonight for 700 sparrows! Bad point is that it's pulling to the right quite hard and when it does this the wheel wobbles a little but hoping it's just tracking. Good points......pretty much perfect engine which pulls like a fricking train!!! Eleccy everything, cruise control, vtech yo (broke my vtech cherry) immaculate interior. Few lumps and bumps external but I'm not too fussed for 700 notes.
