  3. Single stage machine polish and ceramic coating with SC15 is £395 mate. For the APT system it's a bit more but I'm not approved just yet so can't confirm exactly. For the Diamas coating it's more again This is a ceramic coating and not a ceramic lacquer though. If you want ceramic lacquer you need to speak to a specialist bodyshop Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. I did it up at Cholmondely years ago. It's good fun. They've dumbed it down for the masses in recent years though sadly. My missus did it last year with zero training and there were folk just taking a 12 mike stroll and circumventing the obstacles. Seems to have degenerated into a money making scheme these days. Arctic Enema is still horrendous though! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Oooh, interesting! *ilogikal1 does his best meerkat impression* Yeah I won't pretend and understand what the hell a Diamond Nanorod is but basically it's rock hard! He's also been tinting some of the coatings with some sort of pigmented fleck which is an unusual slant on things. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. "Ceramic coating would be a bod like me and can last 5-7 years". As in you do these ceramic coating Ricey ? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1866268156935334&id=1483558688539618 Assuming you can follow the link that's my test car for SiRamik SC15. 3-5 year protection (obviously all the caveats about it being cleaned properly and bi annually coated with SC Mist - which is cheap and you can do it yourself). I'm also about to become approved by SiRamik for their pro range ATP system. That is a 3 stage coating with the latter coat being Diamas......a Diamond Nanorod based solution. 7. This is true. A self healing film will always give better protection that a coating but these coatings are HARD! Gtechniq for example needs to be wet sanded off if you **** it up. Film will probably be the same cost for front end as ceramic coating a whole car. Film may yellow and only lasts so long Film personally I feel must alter the behaviour of the paint (fleck, metallic, reflection, pearl) to some degree (albeit potentially minor). Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. Also worth factoring in that with any of the options the front end will beforehand need repainting to give a perfect surface and will need a month or so to gas off fully before protecting. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. A) yes you can get ceramic lacquers. Some manufacturers (Merc and Audi for example) use it from factory and it's a swine to detail. you can ceramic coat bodywork same way as wheels are done. Modern ceramics are 9h hardness C) PPF like suntek, XPEL and the like can provide film protection. Ceramic paint would be a specialist bodyshop Ceramic coating would be a bod like me and can last 5-7 years. PPF have a shelf life like wrap. Cheap ones can yellow. I believe wax can cause the film to do that as well. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. This is true but you do get all the divwits giving it; 'you can do it yourself' 'Our bob does that' (click on bobs link and inevitably a picture of a missing chromosome specimen appears) 'Eric the pole can do that for 30 quid' (ususally when it's a £300 job) That's half the problem with social media.....its main population is cretinous spuzzbubbles Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. What's wrong with the finish? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. ......when you've just billed out the thick end of a grand and delivered an I operative car you better belive you'll be headed out with a diagnostic! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  15. Tough on Dip as they're very different cars to the GTI. The MX5 is fun to drive and not much of a chore. MR2 I don't know.....heard some stories about reliability but Dan is your man for these. GTI will be a perfectly decent car for 1900 but it ain't going to stir the soul like the other 2. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  16. Think my missus was on $25 an hour answering the phones in some call centre in Sydney. It can definitely help you extend your travels if you can stock the coffers up at some point. I was too old to work ......hence me being exceptionally poor these days Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  17. Lol I thought Col was a mod.....shows how much attention I pay! Congrats mate. Many thanks to the boys taking a hard earned retirement Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  18. Thought I'd better just clarify that as I could of sworn our Pedro was sound! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  19. You really dislike autobrite with a passion don't you mate! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  20. There is a user on here called Pedro isn't there? Just to clarify are we saying it's him or is our Pedro just an innocent bystander. Re the lights......gash! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  21. Autosol then Meguiars NXT. Megs isn't strong enough for heavy build up but refines well. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  22. Now add £3.5+K to the price of that for the inevitable engine build he'll need. That's why they're so cheap and I'm avoiding like the plague. I think I'm stuck between the 206 gti 180 and the 207 gti. Plan is after we're married and we've got our house, I could look at a new Alfa Romeo mito. Love the look of them. Or get a small engined fiat 500 or something and only pay 8p per mile so I get 32p per mile back from them and bank the extra. You're questioning Honda reliability and thinking about an Alfa! Lolz to be fair Alfa are a lot better than they were. Pug wise I've been out in the 140 and it was 'alright'. My mate owned his for years....had a few usual motoring maladies but nothing critical. 180 should be much better but as said far better bang for your buck out there. That's such a nice looking car. Being a detailer I'm a teeny bit disappointed it's not a different colour but silver does hide a multitude of sins on a 13 year old car Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

I had a 156 as an emergency car during my disastrous 6 week ownership of a V8 merc and I loved it. Caused me a couple of fairly chronic moments (like the alarm going off for 8 solid hours......I just went out for the day.....couldn't face the neighbours) and eventually the alternator seized because I left it parked up for weeks in the snow. Can't say I held it against it though......she dug me out of a right rough patch of motoring. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Sadly I'm poor these days so it's a 2l. Still a very characterful engine and handles and puts power down better than the V6 but yes I'm afraid the iconic Alfa V6 has alluded me. Certainly for this kind of money. Plus side it's 30mpg, 3k cheaper and a better drivers car! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
