  1. How many threads have we seen with zeds smoking like dot cotton because they use magnatec! It was one a month at one point.
  2. I find the best way is to put them on speaker phone and make a variety of animal/sex noises
  3. Just being devils advocate (ignoring that the item was apparently bucked/twisted) you warranty probably states that the dealer may use used parts to correct any defect. The idea of the warranty being that your vehicle will be put back into a 'road worthy' condition. That doesn't automatically entitle you to new parts. Now say this dealer in good faith bought that part from a breaker who assured it was in full working order. Again I sympathise with your plight and that yes the dealer has a responsibility to ensure the part is suitable for purpose but the fact that it wasn't may be as a result of duff assurances from his supplier. Clutch is also a tricky one. 2 weeks after purchase.....yes that's harsh but it drove perfect on the test drive I'm assuming......you can't 'bodge' a clutch working properly. Sometimes consumable items (of which a clutch is one) just 'go'. Technically (unless a judge said otherwise) my understanding is that the clutch as a consumable item is not covered for replacement by the consumer goods act. He can prove it was fit for purpose at time of sale because YOU test drove the car and it drove fine. Unless the warranty covered the clutch then you can't expect it to be covered by anything other than goodwill. Even then the dealer is entitled to replace it with working used parts. Sounds like you're having a grim time and I'm not siding with anyone. Just giving you a second opinion from the other side of the fence
  4. I get calls telling me I've been in an accident! WTF! I think I'd know about it!
  5. You'd have thought.....and you'd have been wrong! Volvo when they ...go big. I spent £824 replacing an alternator and a MAF sensor on the C70 I just sold. As biccie said the volvo codes can only be 'properly' read by a volvo machine (that said a normal high quality code reader will get you somewhere). I think the volvo licences are something like 5 grand a year as well. Bad times biccie but let's hope they sort it.
  6. Until I read this I was absolutely and totally in agreement with Dans selfless idea. This post has genuinely made me pause for thought. Surprising how such a seemingly generous act could upset or offend so many people!
  7. Looking at their stock they've a made a real effort to specialise in the absolute dreg end of market quality and as such the prices are 'amazingly' cheap. Quite a good strategy to be honest as a wide range of shiny shiny products does suggest 'professional'. I'd hazard a guess it's just a comprehensive selection of eBay specials though
  8. Absolutely love the 6 series personally. That thing is stunning
  9. They are about as much use as covering up your number plate in a sodding advert! God that boils my **** when people do that!
  10. If this isn't dripping with sarcasm I think the stoopid-o-meter just broke.
  11. Well I never knew that!
  12. Chip in the windscreen and aftermarket mods? Or does it mean the trays and covers are missing?
  13. It was back in the day mate. To be fair Carla has had her back in a couple of times this year since I started doing the detailing. Good luck with the sale! Don't buy an Astra FFS!
  14. First sensible response on this thread. Annie you obviously had a disturbing experience there, however I am firmly in the camp of needing to walk a mile in about he other person's shoes. It is very unfortunate he was out with an adult who obviously wasn't in control of him or aware of his triggers. Was waiting for this......you were more restrained than I thought you'd be Vik!
  15. Hold the phone Joan! I think we've got one from that engine swap we did. Fairly sure a conrod bust out somewhere but the block might be ok.
  16. Get in the boot (if you can!) and get a mate to fire a jetwash every which way but loose. Hopefully you'll see where it's coming from.
  17. My friend is running organising a show but I think it's next year for detailing, PDR, Smart repair etc. With detailing you would be surprised at the level of technical knowledge (look at ilogikals threads) and practical skill that you need. Even to knowing the characteristics of each manufacturers paint! Bloody expensive to set up as well. Don't assume it's a bucket and a few bottles of meguiars. Drop me a PM if you've got any questions though.
  18. Had my wheels tracked the other day. Still pulled like hell to the left. Swapped the front wheels left to right......straight as a die now. If you have mixed tyres, unevenly worn tyres etc it can make all the difference with tracking.
  19. My mates are on it. There's so many George Adedguengos joined up as 21 year old supermodels who proceed to ask them if they want a date......followed by the thinly veiled..... "all a neeeeed is ya bonk acccccount and sot cooooode"

    7000 not out!

My posts are both insightful, useful and witty. Sadly they're usually nothing to do with the 350z, cars or any form of Motorsport!
