  1. We use normal 2k lacquer on calipers and haven't had any problems :-)
  2. If you do make sure you get a decent quality vinyl. There is some right crap on eBay that to the naked eye looks ok but it's really terrible. It's a 2 man job really and you'll need a lot of patience if you're not used to doing it yourself. Heat gun or hair dryer is essential and you'd really benefit from a proper wrapping squeegy thingamabob (felt edged).
  3. I've of the most woeful films ever put to celluloid with 60 seconds at the end that redeemed the whole thing. Very sad.
  4. Cleaning the plenum is not an easy task as it's cast alloy. Really it needs a light sandblast but you can poss make some inroads with a steamer and some carb cleaner as Paddy said. Be very careful steam cleaning ......make sure all electrics are well rapped in cling film. Also the 350 engine bay is notorious for transport wax which is an unholy turd to clean off. I used some cellulose thinners on one years back but you need to be VERY careful as this obviously dissolves paint. Autoglym machine cleaner is very good I found.
  5. Purge canister Reroutes the gases back into the intake.
  6. Really great news. Wasn't all that long ago poor old dip was desperately looking for 'the one' .......just goes to show how things pan out when you're least looking for it
  7. Diamonbrite/supergard are not even close to lifetime. Sales pitch snakeoil You really need ceramic for that. Have a look at Opticoat
  8. Nissan dealers almost universally have no knowledge or experience of 350 or 370s mate. The best you can hope from a Nissan dealer is that they are honest, tell you as such and send you elsewhere
  9. I'd have taken his arm off personally. But then again very low milage so likely to be highly desirable as a private sale
  10. ^ that was the slightly less amusing thought that led me to my conclusion. To a degree I've no sympathy for people like that though. Ask Annie round for a cup of tea if you're lonely don't just create mither for someone......she doesn't exactly strike me as the type to say no.
  11. For me Annie the neighbour is almost certainly; - old and or retired - bored - probably a bit mental If she hated chickens I'd say you've got to sort it out. The fact that she loves the little bugger suggests to me that she's one of those people who will be going to bed satisfied with a hard days moaning but in actuality has bog all to moan about. So yes I think she is being unreasonable in this specific instance.......regardless you've got to try and keep her in though otherwise she might go full bonkers and you'll see her wearing Ethel as a headpiece
  12. Fairly sure a decent diagnostic will find a code in the BCM guiding them almost immediately where the general problem is. I don't know how dealers get away with it. If I said to a customer 'yeah I had a look at your car and I'm @*!# out of ideas.......£40 please' I couldn't sleep at night!
  13. Ruptured ACL. Had a rebuild on the NHS and never looked back. Ran 3 half marathons, 2 Hellrunners and a Tough Mudder since
  14. Am I reading that right? Over 900 to supply and fit 2 lower arms? We fitted a clutch and DMF on a 350 for less than that!
  15. Yes very useful, removed a complete set of locking wheel nuts from my Sons Golf when the key got lost. I soaked them in WD40 first, as they were a bit like yours. make sure you get the right size one as there is also a 1/2 drive one. Provided you go easy that should do the trick. We've got one in the garage.....worth its weight in gold provided he nut is small enough. Should be ok on yours though
  16. Depending on the paint you use it'll need etch priming
  17. If Wales deffo happens this year I could have a word with Brian the dent bloke to turn up again provided there's enough people with dents to be removed. He was there the first year I went. How I met him actually........never out of our unit these days with all the sodding dents people pick up! Me and Chris might be tempted to turn up and have a natter. He's a master tech so could perhaps dish out some free advice to anyone suffering with mechanical issues
  18. You might find that the black needs a lighter base coat. If you use a dark undercoat it will be harder to see the carbon. Make sure your tank is deep enough for the centre console so you can get the dipping angle right
  19. I spend something in the region of 18 hours over a weekend and it looked ok......but just ok.
  20. I've done it before. Here's my guide: - Pay Wasso Mate it's and unholy git of a job
  21. One word of warning.....can't remember if it's the flywheel or the clutch but you can install it 4 different ways and only 1 is correct Someone confirm that's correct? I just remember the mech who works with me having a frigging nightmare sussing it out
  22. Someone else posted a photo with advisories for 002 and 003 a while ago...same garage maybe? Pete Glad you said it! I thought I was caught in the twilight zone!
  23. Going to Sunrise Festival down Somerset way with Jenna in our new campervan and also having a hoon around in the Pontiac I've just bought before I sell it!
