  1. Good job your paying attention.......I totally assumed OP had a matte wrap! Yes it is designed for matte and satin finishes I believe.
  2. Zed the ex had was listed as red and it was a ginger!
  3. People who wrapped my car recommended this stuff. I've got a 75k limited edition M3 which is one of only 10 in matte blue paint coming in for a detail on Thursday and I asked the wrapping company round the corner for some advice......Swissvax is the only thing they will use.
  4. Obviously it looks ridiculous but I'm giving a thumbs up purely due to the effort
  5. Swissvax opaque mate. Very expensive but equally very very good
  6. Not sure what tapatalks doing to these posts but nothing makes any sense in this thread any more! lol Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  7. That would be me sir! I think it was called 'the pointless question thread' 100 pointless questions Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  8. 6k is about right for a stealership to respray and whole car remember. Chances are the bodyshop have said 'no chance we're blending any paint on a zed.....full respray!' Don't forget the Nissan bodyshop are absolutely not interested in cost.....they just tell the service manager what they think needs doing.
  9. It may be too early in the morning for me, but am I reading that correctly that you've now made the side windows illegal, despite having been pulled for this before? Great thread btw, I like how you've broken down all the steps and given annotated photos to show the engineering difficulties and how you've overcome them ROFL......I saw that bit about the tints started scrolling and thought 'aaaany second now, aaaaany second now' then viola there you were
  10. You didn't happen to see a white Iveco van with CBM Automotive written down the side pulling a fizzing 25 sec did you? Think it was on the Sunday
  11. Needs going on a proper diagnostic mate. Several things it could be really. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  12. Again no offence intended but if you know the difference between polish and wax why are you planning on hitting your car with a rotary and polish every 2 months? Seriously dude unless you're washing it with rocks that should be hugely unnecessary and you WILL be needing a respray in about 6 months if you're not careful. 13. Putting it in some perspective I took a reading off a piece of bare steel with a £5 note over it. The thickness of a £5 note is 100 microns. Freshly painted new cars are maybe 120 to 200 microns. Zed paint is enlarge somewhere under 100. That means you've got less than the thickness of a £5 note to work on when polishing
  14. To be honest mate you've bought the wrong tool and the wrong product. Polishing with a rotary every 2 months will be through a zed's clear coat quicker than a rat up a drainpipe. Orbital on a zed needs a paint depth gauge, experience and care. No offence but it sounds like you definitely don't have 2 of the 3. For safe polishing (that you might want to do once or twice a year) you want a DA so you limit your chances of causing damage. A decent amateur friendly polishing compound like Meguiars Ultimate compound which is chock full of fillers and some decent polishing heads. Then every 2 months you want to be waxing or sealing not polishing Polish = removing and correct paint (unless you're say applying something like a glaze with a DA buffer) Waxing/sealing = protecting and adding gloss. Finally a Silverline machine as a rotary isn't fantastic .....it serves a purpose (I have one and use it for spot repairs but it's way too heavy and not really cut out for complete car polishing.....certainly not with easy at any rate) but as with most things to get a good finish you need good equipment.
  15. Was it not? Crikey I thought it was a right revered motor
  16. You can see it in the pictures, i think theyve tried to smooth it out but not 100% Aye they look tidy but it's a 10 yard job. Good on your for taking criticism on board though......normally toys would be hurled all over the place by now.
  17. They were like hens teeth to start with as well. Focus RS500 is a dead cert. Think I've only ever seen one on the road.
  18. MG's are a classic but they don't really fetch mega money because so many have survived. Minis on the other hand were made out of pure rust and look how much they fetch now.
  19. Probably worth mentioning in the ad that the kerbing wasn't taken out before painting. Just for the avoidance of doubt before someone turns up having bought them given that they're thick money.
  20. In which case I think you're being fairly realistic given the spec you've laid out for the 350 you want if I'm honest.
  21. If rather use my knob as a sundial than wear a fake watch to be honest. But it's each to their own. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  22. Which way are you expecting cash? To you or to the 350z owner? That kind of makes a big difference on this being a realistic deal to be honest
  23. I kind of know what you mean. I've not seen anyone do It but ideally yes it's needs a better cold air feed. Not wanting to seem like a know it all and obv's the OP is driving the car so he knows better but I've never heard of a single person actually adding any power with them. If anything they you lose a few ponies from heatsoak. That said from a sound perspective they are pound for pound one of the best mods you can do.
