  1. If you want to learn then I say go for it mate but there is a lot to consider in terms of tooling up. Decent spray gun (this makes a massive difference in terms of quality) Reasonable compressor (tiny thing will be a nightmare and you don't want low pressure when you're half way through a coat) About 3/4 grades of sandpaper Primer (don't get acrylic) Plastic primer (if you sand back any parts to bare plastic) Base coat (get it from a paint shop 1/4 litre should do a bumper easy) 2k lacquer 2k Hardener 2k thinners Panel wipe Tack cloths Sanding block Masking tape (low tack) If spraying in situ or nearby dust sheets to mask off the rest of the car (Asda sell them for a quid) G3 cutting compound Rotary polisher with 3inch and 5/6 inch pads and backing plates Outlay for above Budget Asda price standard kit prob 500 quid. Good quality 1000/1500 quid Top quality excess of 2k
  2. It's a lot of money but it's a lot of car. Dans always been about making a car drive better rather than faster.
  3. ^ I'm with him. Grundy had a go but he used a spray gun. It's a tricky thing paint work. You've got to know how to spray, read the paint, prep properly to avoid reactions. Clearcoating is another paint in the bum to consider as well. Grip coats, wet coats, flatting off without striking through. In saying that Blind Pew would do a better job than most Chipsaway guys
  4. We must be seeing an engine kark it once a week these days.......
  5. Enjoy pal. Been there myself. Stunning part of the world. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  6. I'd only make 2 comments bud.....1 never rely on a low oil warning light even if a car has one and 2 if your not technically minded to start with do not for the love of God start stripping your engine. Do what's been advised above. Chill. Enjoy. Your literally can't change one thing about the outcome of this so stop worrying. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  7. Usual insurance bollocks pal.......You could probably put a Ferrari in for a quote and get it cheaper. Where shafting is possible thou shalt be shafted Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  8. Custom job? Plenty of people have them made Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  9. Cookbot! WTF! Husky will be back on next and Stormhorse! Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  10. No arguing with that to be honest I still hate it though! Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  11. See the thing that winds me up about all this (and stu this obvs isn't a go at you.....I love you dearly) is the Facebook mentality. It's the ice bucket challenge of 2015. Another fad of reposts to make mongs feel better about themselves by expressing mock outrage at something they barely know anything about, wouldn't be prepared to give up a single Greggs pasty to change and in 3 weeks won't give 2 dangly willys about. They are the exact same people who will be sharing a Britain First Facebook post the same day they signed a petition to allow refugees into the country. Now obviously this isn't everyone. Some of us are genuinely outraged and clearly it is unconscionably sad but let's face it.......in a month your timelines will be clear and next to no one will care less.......they'll all be taking selfies of themselves in the 'hide your dangler in your friends bum challenge' for the Obese Bastards of Bradfords Benevolent Fund or some other such crap.
  12. Whilst we're on the subject of iron fall out......check this out Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  13. Just had a look. The 4.7 he's got in stock is 46k so prob a bit thick on the budget Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  14. That was the 4.7. World's apart in terms of sound Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  15. And that is the beasty. The 4.7 being blipped on idle emits a rumble at the exact frequency to make you instantly ejaculate......it's a bit of a problem when you're detailing a car. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  16. I'll do you 8k of hydrodipping.....it'll make it look faster Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  17. Oooossh! Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  18. I can hook you up with a chap who will get you a minter of a Granturismo mate. He's the guy I do all the mazzers for and he's about the straightest car sales I've ever met. For the record they are epic as well. You cannot find an angle that it doesn't look stunning from. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk

I have seen far far worse pro jobs mate. Dot be too hard on yourself
  20. Good idea but the only problem is they are pretty much 'appreciation' threads rather than feedback. I.e you'll only ever see the positives. Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  21. For the record thrashing the tits off your car when it's got a knackered cat and has used half of its lil is probably not the best course of action
  22. Not sure why considering I haven't really used them all that much but I really like the look of Gyeon products. I've used Nanolex alloy sealant and it was alright......didn't blow me away but alright. I use CSP products now but Nano hasn't been released yet.
  23. Not used it but Nanolex stuff is generally pretty ok. Looks less complex to use than a proper ceramic coating which is a bonus.
  24. Thomas Sorensen on here also lives in Germany I think. I'm mates with him on faceplant if you don't get sorted with the other guys
