So Annoyed & Disgusted in some Low Life Traders!!
Ricey replied to Easty's topic in Off Topic Discussion
After 5 years on this forum I can on honestly say I've never disliked anyone as much as I do certain members these days. The fact that I'm a trader makes me behave with a semblance of reservation but I could honestly explode when I see some of the unpunished, unfounded mudslinging and goading that goes on. It's bang out of order and it should stop or be made to stop. Being friends with people of influence does not give you free range on the chicken run. -
Agree with Colin. Normally you'll hear a bearing even turning by hand if it's thst knackered. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

^ this I know it's different situation but my nephew is learning to drive. We did a quote for him 18 years old Licence less than a year (but assuming he'd passed) £250 15 year old 1 litre micra Postcode right slap bang in the middle of Manchester £1000 excess Only 4 companies would quote from MS.com £7500 £10500 £13500 £15000 Thst simply has to be his postcode. It can't be anything else otherwise no one would drive a car Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

I thought there was going to be a picture of a scrapped metro or something here. I totally agree with you mate.......the first whilst not the strongest will always resonate. Would you go to the funeral or is that a bit too much?

We'd be quoting around 250......we're good but we're not a full time body shop with a booth etc. I'd say 450 for a fully fledged full time body shop is about right Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

You need to do a reset of the throttle body mate. You've disturbed butterfly valve. No dramas Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

So no throttle at all but your dipping the clutch? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Funny i was only talking about this with Rich the other day. I can get the decals from a member on here if you want them dipping or spraying. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

I was told when I first came on the forum to pm the seller if you had a helpful opinion on the pricing rather than to put it on the thread. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

What colour primer is best for the 350z orange paint?

I wouldn't personally mate. A trade supplier will still provide you the paint but charge you a bit more. Where are you based? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk -

Rattle can will be a disaster. You need a HVLP gun, unless you are filling any damage you only need to scotch the hell out of the panel. Primer isn't required. If you sand through to the panel anywhere then you'll need to flick a bit of primer over it. Normal grey primer will be ok but don't use acrylic. Get the paint mixed by a decent paint shop. You'll need about a quarter litre. Chances are it'll still look different......zed paint is a bugger to get to sit right especially between plastic and metal panels. That's why you often have to blend out into the wings and bonnet which makes it a very expensive job. -

How are you respraying it (rattle can or gun?). Has it already been sprayed before or it is a virgin panel? -

URGENT - Passenger Door Lock (will not lock)
Ricey replied to Mikey Thompson's topic in 350Z Technical
Almost the exact same problem on a Xsara I'm working on today. One of the rods had become detached because the mechanism had seized up and generally was buggered. You might be lucky and a rod has become detached but it could be the mechanism has worn to the point where something isn't returning properly. You need to take the door card off and probably drop the latch mechanism out but it'll be a sod of a job if this one is anything to go by! Make sure you carefully note where all rods, pins and leavers line up to -
Tried my hand at hydro dipping AKA water transfer printing...

Not sure what your garage set up is bud but if you have a small air compressor you'd be better picking a cheap HVLP gun up and delivering the activator by gun rather than can Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk -
For the love of God if you use silicone sprays do it AFTER you paint. Death destruction and pain will ensue if you don't. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Utter swine of a job isn't it mate!? Honestly I go from loving it to hating it every job we do. Problems I can foresee: - Rattle can activator is quite difficult to apply in a uniform way with sufficient coverage. - Activator costs us something like 30 quid for a litre so it's likely to be bobbins in a £50 kit. - Same with the film. Cheap film is like using cheap vinyl wrap to learn with .....you won't learn because it's harder to work with to the point of failure. - Your 'tank' isn't giving you enough room to really play with even for a small item. I know it's a ballache heating up a bigger tank but I might be worth it. - rinse gentle, quickly and thoroughly with as little touching of the part as you can. - we don't bother taping up anymore as it gave us more headaches than it solved. Problem with that is that you need to ensure your film is otherwise 'contained' to stop it just expanding off into the water. We use a floating grid system. Bottom line we use a cheap tank that we've built. It gives good results but I'm fairly sure only because we use the best products (all from Aquagraphix). Our problem is efficiency. The tank is thermally inefficient and the drainage isn't automatic. Buy a fish tank heater, stacker box sized 'tank', good rattle can activator from Eve, films from Eve and rattle can base coats from eve then I think you'll see very good results pal. Also remember that activator has thinners or something similar in it so certain paints should be avoided. -
My dead Zed and the garage who've ripped me off. Advice welcome!

I tell you what.....to murder a perfectly healthy zed engine in 2 weeks would take epic proportions of spazness. How they can even try to argue it is beyond me! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
