I seem to spend my entire life buying and researching cars when I should be working - I now have an intricate matrix of car values in my head! The value and what you can actually sell if for seem to be very different things at the moment. We're trying to sell our immaculate MX5 for px value just so we can buy private - selling for PX price and not one call!!

Jezus!!!!!!!! sorry to hear that. From a purely financial perspective that car is costing you £500 per mth to sit there doing nothing - you might as well get rid and get another when your better. If it takes 6-12 months to get better then your looking at 3k to 6k that you save up and put towards a new Zed - you sell now you might actually end up with a better spec Zed at the end of it? However before you do this and given the massivley demoralising situation with your health - will you feel like your giving in to the big C? If so the car might actually be more of a motivating factor to help you pull through (depending on how attatched you are to it). Either way keep your chin up!

Its surprisingly difficult to say mate. In a normal market you seem to be able to say 'this is what its worth' but the prices are all over the place at the mo. I went to look at one othe other day - same spec as yours but 54k on the clock and it was £8750. Turned out to be a TOTAL shed but it literally sold within 16 hours of it going on autotrader (and I was the first to view at 9am). Unfortunately your sometimes up against buyers like my missus who is looking for one but will overlook your amazingly well looked after car because they believe the milage is 'too high'.......instead they'll go and view endless shedders for £8750 with 54k on the clock believing its a 'better car' only to be confronted by a steaming heap of turd. Some sweet cars on the forum for 'firesale' prices too......not a sausage selling. I'd hazard a guess to be competitive you'd be about £9500 (and I bet you were hoping someone would say around the £10500 £11k mark) Keep it and look cool instead!

I had the same problem with the gear stick on my RX8 - according to the RX forums the rather perverse reason is something to do with the gear stick being directly attatched to a tranny!!!! I would assume its the same for the Zed. Its not as bad in the Zed though........RX was like shifting with a Rampant Rabbit!

Or combine the 2 and have pets with tats......there's got to be a few estate dogs out there with a human and union jack on its shoulder with mum and dad next to it.

Slightly less extreme situation but take Demolition49's recent incident with the bump he had and the tool jumping out telling him to get back in his car and then driving off......if everyone who goes round doling out threats gives there way they'll just be able to get away with anything. Your mate who's bottled it is not testifiing against your other mate to say 'that didn't happen' but it won't do the case any good and the defence lawyer will probably latch on to the fact that the statement was retracted. Not that its your problem but your mate who you live with would probably appreciate some support though this too...bolting back to your ma and pa's may seem a little harsh but obviously none of us know your situation and how bad these scummy gits are.

It was the bad winter thats really made it noticable. All the little nooks and crannies filled up with ice and burst the tarmac. The road to our house is back breaking now! Looks like we'll have to wait until Feb/March when all the local authorities have to get their budget spend........low and behold up springs roadworks in every direction.

Private plates are a right bloody con! We've got 2 both purchased for £249 from DVLA.........over £700 I've spend transferring the damn things from car to car. All I can say is I'm glad I'm on holiday when this is happening because I'd probaby be in the process of buying the first shedder Zed I can lay my hands on right now!!! Its not fair!!!!! I drove through Snowdonia in the summer.........jaw dropping.

Getting it delivered safely isn't really the issue I guess............more which cretin is going to get hold of it at the garage. If your going to send it I'd call before hand....get someones name that can be held personally accountable and send it directly to them. Alternativly if you've got a mate who lives anywhere near you could post it up to them and ask them to personally take it in for you? Bloody dealers! 3 times I've had a car serviced without the book being stamped......usually noticing as I'm 10 miles down the motorway from picking it up

As I'm still Zedless I'll keep myself confined to the 'Off Topic Discussion' Were any of our order at the Muse concert at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground last night? T'other half and myself went and it was without doubt it was the most immense concert I've ever been too (well apart from U2 but there's not really any point comparing any band to U2). They must be one of the best live acts around at the moment.
