Pointing out that you are indeed a 'fail' is never a nice thing to do but if nothing else it will amuse you for 5 mins! Much as no one really knows me that well you must all do me a favour.....NEVER EVER EVER let me take charge of a spanner ever again! Dan's (Ekona's) Pop Charger arrived in the week all ready for a quick 15 min installation this afternoon. 3 hours later and just beating the arrival of total darkness its installed. Things were going so well! The airbox came out in a breeze, the heat shield flew in with a minimum of fuss.........then I took the MAF section off the airbox and attempted to bolt it to the charger. Now maybe I'm literally the biggest spaz in the motoring universe...maybe the question should be be raised 'was he offspring of a village idiot and his sister' but I figured that using the original bolts off the airbox should be used for the charger too.......FAIL FAILFAILFAIL Assuming the thread was a little bit tight I applied some good old elbow grease with a spanner......which promptly snapped the head off the bolt leaving the thread snapped in the charger........oh........****. After me and my neigbour attempted to drill the thread out a several times to no avail - we gave up and decided to cut the other bolts down to size and work with 3...it was perfectly tight with 3 so no issues.......until I attatched the stabalizing bar to the car and tightened the bolt on the charger......el-snapola again! So my nice new(ish) pop charger was sat there with 2 headless bolts sitting beautifully flush into the thread of the charger. Luckily my neigbour is something of a hero and disappeared into his shed and returned with what can only be described as a 'war-bastard' of a drill and we managed to drill the thread out. Then he produced a die and tap set which enable me to tap a new thread in the charger, followed with a shiney new bolt from his collection.........a bit of carful bolting and whoooooooooooosh brummmmmbobbbabobbbba...........done Why does it always happen to me!

Nurrish's unit is supposed to be ace in fairness so certainly wouldn't pay over the odds for one with Sat Nav. For that kind of money you should find a good example if your patient. Good luck!

How did you get on mate?? Thats proper gutting in fairness. The fuel seems to be lasting us ages! I've not exactly been hanging round (or thrashing it) but it lasted 14 days so far and still just under quarter left

Wow!! Looking mighty fine. Take my advice and keep paying the detailer......since joining here I've secured a near OCD for stockpiling cleaning/deailing gear! Costs a bloody fortune.

I have done mate - checked all the cubbys and wheel, jack ETC. I'm going to have a crack with the spray grease when I get 5 mins. They were so poor I didn't even have the heart to have a go at one in the office today. Its only got 29k on it but I have everything under their a good yank and everything felt solid as a rock. If my greasing doesn't work I'll whip it in the garage sometime. Cheers all

I haven't checked the shocks.....assume they are accessed via the boot? I'll nip to hellfords and get some spray grease then if the copper slip is no good.

SOME 'DAD' ADVICE URGENTLY REQUIRED! Such a newbie question but hey ho its better than causing a foul up...... I've given everything a good yank and it all seems well and truly fixed (banana bar is a bit rusty but doesn't budge, ARB droplinks, exhaust ETC all solid) so I was going to have a crack at greasing anything that I can get me mitts on. So as I don't have immediate access to a dad who would normally answer this question I need some salty mech to provide the advice......so - cooper slip..... can this be used to 'grease' bits up? Or is there a particular greasy type of grease I need to use. I was going to have a crack after the Derby so you have t-minus 3 hours to reply!.........If you support the redsh*te you need not reply

See Pete I told you all my shelvesworth of cleaning kack is worth having!!!!!! Seeing it in the flesh it wasn't as bad as I thought it would based on your piccies (although it would still of bugged me). Now you can use your engine/machine cleaner on the engine bay Fair play so Chris too......not nice having to name and shame friends and its doubley gutting when your let down by people you've recommended. If your still looking local Autoimage up in Holywell are supposed to be very good - my mates dad has been in the industry for 40 odd years and he'll only take his cars there for body work and the Powerhouse (right next to DPL Auto's funnily enough) for mechanicals.

+1 Just make sure you get a half decent freeview box though.....there are a few dickie ones out there that freeze up and go a bit mental.
