  1. Not sure that anyone on here has done it yet........although some have suggested it and been beaten with sticks. As your new I'm sure they'll go easy on you
  2. Holy Christ ............well done for not pummeling him to death! 1. Are Chips Away any good? Stick chipsaway in google and the results are not good - however even if they are good on 1 chip 30-40!!.....thats going to look like a 13 year olds face 2. Is this something I should pay for initially and then send this guy the bill, or should go through insurance? Depends if you trust the cocksmuggler who did it - from the sounds of it he's not personally known to you - I'd get the money of out him upfront. In fact I'd just go through the insurance and have all 3 panels resprayed properly 3. Should I protect the chips immediately before any work is done?Deffo - you don't want any rust starting. I would imagine a decent wax is enough to do this temporarily 4. Roughly (obviously) how much is this going to cost (him!)? Hundreds, Thousands? I really have no idea.Body shop via insurance x 3 panels could be anywhere from £600 to £1000. Chips away I think are franchises so each to their own - £60 seems to be the word on the street........x 30/40
  3. I'd rather smear the inside of my car with a tramps faeces than drive that foul piece of rectal lining. The only possibly reason I can see for buying is because you own a high pressure crushing machine and you want to see if you can form a diamond out of it.

  8. You've probably been wary (bit like me) because your dad/grandad/uncle grew up in the age where engines lasted 50-60k before severe tinkering was required. Secondly you've probably (like me) owned cars that need the cam belt, brakes, major (whacking great expensive) service at 50-60k........you have a chain on the Zed and your looking for one with the P3 completed so no issues at all. 10k should easily get you what your looking for unless your a bit touchy on the age of the car - we picked up a 54 plate ginger with full history, GT pack and 29k on the clock for £8700 over 6 months ago. Don't be afraid to travel for one either - you could always see if a forum member who's in the local area could take a look at one for you first.
  9. Brokencrack mountain by the looks of it........I reckon a fair amount of 'tossing the salad' went off today
  10. Peugeot is quite sort of.......well........French though isn't it. Personally I'd get her a nice red 1.6 petrol MX5 if I was you.......in fact I know where one is for sale local to you for £2500 as it happens

  20. Most of us have been there mate - problem is when your excited about getting a new car the thought of waiting 2-3 months to find the right one for you is pretty depressing. Bottom line - the right one will land at your feet. We missed out on some right shitboxes when we were desperate and ended up buying one blind (worked for us but I wouldn't recommend!) which was a bargain and a minter. Are you looking further afield or just in your local area? Definitely worth spreading the net a bit.
