I've got one similar and I've got to be honest the thought of it getting jammed in occurred to me as well..........the actual thread just screws onto the cap if its the same as mine - doesn't actually have anything to secure it to the cap though Get the strut polished and the engine cover sprayed Col! Blings it to de max ma brudda.

So its revving to 1500 rpm or its ticking over that high? Did it go all at once or gradually. BTW - I won't be able to provide any advice with this information but one of the other mechanicy types might!

sell the 350? If your looking at other cars like the boxster then your Z isnt doing it for you is it? The Zed doesn't need to do it for him, so I doubt it's going to be sold.... I love the Zed to bits but I don't drive it that often really with it being Carla's car.......I just wash, maintain and generally care for it! I just figure that even though I have the Zed as a 'sports car' I still can't deal with the fact that the Lancer costs me about £450 a month in loan and fuel........for a fairly uninspiring drive. I've been thinking of the biscuit route and turfing the Lancer out for £8500ish......binning the loan off and getting something with a thumping great V8......given that I only hold a car for a year before I get bored it won't really bother me too much re the long term running costs.

I got mine from fleabay - they do the job but the argument is that they'll need replacing twice as often.

Drove past a Boxster tonight and I found myself looking at it more fondly but I've given myself a big of a reality check..........I cannot have 12 cylinders and 7 liters with only 4 seats sat on the drive - I forgot I'm supposed to have a car that can be used practically also. I think what I'll do is flog the Lancer, tootle round in my doer'upper Uncle Fiesta for a few months (as I've still got the Zed to cover off any sports car urges) and have a think about what to do. Its gonna need at least 4 seats I think...........unless I go 3 car crazy! You know what - if insurance and tax wasn't such a fricking rip off I probably would too - 2 sports cars and a mule.

Which is an excellent argument for getting one. The problem is (and I don't mind admitting) I am part of the Top Gear generation where everything Clarkson said is ingrained into your psyche and ruins your perception of perfectly good cars. I wouldn't be took concerned about the running costs because I generally only hold on to a car for 12 months anyway.........I just enjoy the experience of buying and driving new cars - I can be just as excited about getting a 2k car as a 15k car I've come to realise. The Boxster just seems a car thats too well made and generally good to pass up on for the price they seem to be up for. I'm guessing higher mileage isn't really an issue either given the engineering heritage (and length of time I will own it).

You know what I think Roo with the first reply has hit the nail on the head...........if it didn't have a Porker badge I wouldn't even consider it which is a fundamental reason why I shouldn't buy one. I can't find anything that really floats my boat but I've got to sling this diesel barge its doing my nut in having all the power in one nasty glob thats next to useful (coupled with having a meaty looking Lancer with what sounds like a tranny van engine)
