  1. I put marks in a mini I was polishing the other week with a microfibre......Some paint is utter pish Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. Used a scalpel kit to carve out the cracked lacquer. Feathered the edges as best I could with 1500. Created a backmasked 'vagina' shape around the damage and flicked lacquer in until it built up. Left it overnight and flatted the blend lines off with 1500 and polished in. If I had a bit more time I'd of probs done the same thing again to further build the lacquer around the damage but the car is off to a new owner come Monday so it'll have to do. 3. Tell you what.....I'm not half bad sometimes. Not 100% but enough to get it out of the door Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. whereabouts you I am in Milton Keynes and my door handles are in desperate need of TLC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Chester mate. As for those parts......thinners and some scotch. Remove the old rubber coating. Then get a can of real plastidip and 4 or 5 thin coats. Brand new. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Skater Girl and I think it's called golden eagle look pretty good. Skater Girl dips beautifully too Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Not 100% for deffo but I don't believe you can just buy the lenses. There is a company that does headlight customs that some of the lads have used. They must of damaged a lens before now so might be worth asking them what they do for replacement lenses. That said I can't for the life of me remember who it was or what thread it was mentioned on Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Definitely a skull theme you want as I think that it could look pony on small parts such as the grab handle recesses. The pattern is too large to make it work in my eyes. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. You can't do jack once the film is on AFAIK. Similar principal to putting a ceramic/glass coating on. You want the underlying surface to be as defect free as possible before doing it. For me you will lose some of what the paint has to offer with a film but the protection it gives is a major trade off.
  9. Never fear I am here! What pattern are you after mate? I'd say 50% of dipping films are dictated by the base coat so if you want it white then white it shall be. For example Snake skin is completely dictated by the colour - White, purple, green and yellow paint would equal white, purple green and yellow snake skin. Blue flame however requires a white base coat as the film itself already has the colour blue in it. The white simply provides a background colour for the translucent blue part of the film.
  10. I know an awesome PPF (basically Ventureshield type film called XPEL) applicator in the north west if anyone needs it doing Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. Apparently they are. Quote went something along the line of "we are aware of this nasty forum" Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. Glad you're pleased buddy Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  13. Or posted by someone who's recently painted a new Hyundai wing Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. Autodata has it at 8 hours I think. Deffo doesn't take that long though! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  15. Cheers Adrian. I had another look today and I reckon we've got a plan of attack Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. Next week really. Cars for sale so he doesn't want any prospective viewers to collar it. Based in Chester. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  17. You are right though. .....Ultimately 3k on a 165k car is equivalent to 100 quid on a wingmirror for a normal wagon. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  18. Basically I do loads of work for him with detailing and leather repair. He thinks I'm some sort of Necromancer now because I've pulled him out of the mither on some cars. Added complication is that he can't drive the car as traders road risk doesn't cover it (think it's 165k this thing) and because I'm mobile for things like this I'm his only option (got a mini compressor etc and I only work/live down the road). Only other thing I can think of is that we take the mirror off and he takes it to his paint shop in Manchester. Problem is I think he'll be met with much the same response so it'll just be a waste of time. I've had some very useful advice from one of the lads over PM so i'll report back with the outcome! 19. Sense?!?!!?.......I can guarantee one!!!! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. When it's on sale or return and it ain't your car I think it's a bum twitching amount! I'm fairly sure the cf is damaged to be honest. He just wants the eye taking off it. Bottom line I've got a no blame situation. He's in the effluvial so he's determined that I WILL do something to it to take the eye off it. How the hell I'm going to do it is a other question! I agree with all the advice though. It basically needs leaving but he's having none of it. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  21. Squib ring. Controls all sorts of stuff with the esp system I think Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. Right boys. 3 grand wingmirror on a Mclaren. Owners dinged it. I've said I can't really do nish but he's adamant he wants me to do something otherwise it's a 3k mirror. Cars being sold. I've told him I can't see us repairing the actual cf but potentially can flat off the lacquer, mask slightly around the damage, blow some lacquer inwith an airbrush in feather off the masking edge with some 1500. Any thoughts? My concern is this will look a bollocks. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  23. Doesn't look like your the first person to receive an email from Graham either! http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/275427-buying-from-wwws2000-4ucouk/page__st__1059 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  24. you could always pick it up if you were coming to the Llangollen meet ...if it fits in your car?! I've got a 400ft long Jaguar and Vito.....It'll fit! Honestly mate I'm not sure I can make use of it. I was thinking about some sort of custom paint job but my mind tends to run ahead of what people will actually buy!
