  1. Because I reallyreallyreally like it and its not just any old XK. Other than this glitch on the face of it, its a nice low mile example with an Arden bodykit. Just seems a shame to walk away if its a cheap fix. I've asked the lady selling to see if she can get it fixed as a condition of the sale. I just wondered if anyone had heard of it if it was some sort of common problem in the world of auto-boxes. I know no one will want to be definitive in case I buy it and it breaks
  2. Well you can razzle dazzle my fantazmagazzle...........they are some proper bo piccies
  3. Ola - suppose I should try and find some dried out corpses in a Jag forum somewhere to ask this question but your a knowledgable bunch Potential new motor - Jag XK (as convinced by Biscuit).......sounds good but the lady mentioned one issue. The auto gearbox sometimes sticks in park when the car is started up. You can override it with a little key thing next to the gear leaver and it drives fine and gear change is smooth (so she tells me). Based on the limited amount of info I've given; - Cheap Electrical gremlin (interlock solenoid maybe?)? - Wallet busting knackered gearbox?
  4. Syringes - meh! Baster is where its at! http://www.wayfair.co.uk/KitchenCraft-P ... tAodVGiypQ

We've got them on the rear and they've never missed a beat - however they're budget and more 'serious' drivers would perhaps refer to them as 'ditch-finders'. I ain't found no ditches yet though
  6. Exactly! I know I pull Ollie from Skys legabout insurance but seriously I just can't deal with it! I can't deal with the fact that someone is trying to tell me I'm more likely to have a crash because someone crashed INTO ME! How can you even begin to argue that point! Statistics may back it up but it literally HAS to just be a fluke of the numbers - its a pure and simple fact that someone being a clumsy ***** is not infectious! It doesn't rub off on your car and turn you into a careless moron too!
  7. Iain your car looks ossum but its also had a large quantity of cash invested in it! Seriously Biscuit may finally have convinced me to take the plunge with an XK and scratch the V8 itch. I hesitate to use the phrase 'cheap to run' when talking about a 4l V8 car but comparatively to the ST it IS cheaper, cheaper insurance, same tax, parts roughly the same and fuel there or there abouts, 4 seats, large boot. I've got my eye on one but there are a couple of little issues with it that I want to price up first before I take the plunge.
  8. Whilst I was busy letting my second goal in I was pondering this exact thought. Also the damage that would be caused by bypassing an immobiliser and tracker perhaps? In that case - wonder if there is an option for 'unlocked and left with doors open in the middle of deserted industrial estate'
  9. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! He's bloody right and I am not joking!!!!! £621 of you put none! I can't deal with the world - I'm going to footy.
  10. Just got a quote for a Jag XK for £668.....changed the details from 'Engine Immobiliser' to 'Engine Immobiliser & tracker' and the insurance goes up to £708!!!!!!!!!!! Come on then - someone please explain the no doubt hilarious theory behind that one!
  11. He is fricking ACE! He's got eyebrows!
  12. Horrible twunts are on the news now reporting from outside his house live.........might go down there and hurl rocks at them!
  13. DAMN YOU BISCUIT!!!!!! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  14. I'm just too much of a ponce to drive one mate I think the problem is I'm in a position where I want a 'sports car' but don't want one too mental as we're still running the 350 (at a cost of about £600 per month). Luckily I'm in no rush so I can bide my time and have a think. Some good suggestions though. Just did a quick quote on a GTR.......£1130 per year - insurance trebled!
  15. You don't need to be found - we know where you are
  16. It had occurred to me to eat my words mate..........the fuel consumption vs power is pretty unreal. Again not massively practical. I am slightly nervous about getting a Focus when considering the chav factor but I keep looking at Ian10101010100101010's an it gives me a near touch on. I did take a peek at the Monaro Lexx............but then I put my brain back it its leaking sponge bag and gave myself a slap!
  17. I'm not too sure how to say it without offending the entire Skyline driving world but for all I can appreciate how technically amazing they are..........fook me they've got a look only a mother could love. I mean seriously that car was shot out of a cannon into a forest of ugly trees and then beaten by a gang of Fiat Multipla's with clubs made from the the branches of the ugly trees. The interior looks like the inside of a 1970's office block.........after a nuclear holocaust..........where an nuclear holocaust survivor lived for a bit and took a turd. ................I'm not keen Also........they're GROUP 20 and do about 10 miles to the gallon and run on super!!!!!! As I said - at what point does an R34 become 'not massive amounts more expensive' to run than a Diesel Lancer! I've got 4 Degus to feed and clothe you know!
  18. The only mods I'm looking to do (no one laugh! I've always wanted a car with a dump valve ) is a dump valve and a stainless zorst. Insurance is bad enough as it is these days (especially with the 350 modded). You know what - the guy knocked £100 off me for the Lancer then I saved him £100 on his insurance as his quote had expired and hadn't added his missus onto the policy or anything! Also left with 85 pre loaded CDs on the hard drive! Bloody steal if you ask me. Other cars..........honestly - nothing is floating my boat apart from the ST but I'm not 100% sure on that either; - R32.....I'd get one but it'd be thrashed. - 3 MPS - not doing it for me looks wise. Running costs much higher - 6 MPS - not going it for me looks wise. Running costs much higher - VXR - sad as it sounds I'm a Ford man...just can't take to Vauxhalls. - Alfa - would always be worrying about breaking down (I know the rep is getting better), horrendous costs for what they are, not sure anything other than the Brera is doing it for me looks wise and they're slower than dirt. - Volvo C30 T5......meh - Renault.......errrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhh - Something totally different.......4x4 (as in a big dobber thing)........I just don't need it and it'll cost a bomb to run (I'd literally just be buying for the experience). - Anything with 2 seats.........why I look I don't know because I need at least one car that can carry 4 people just in case the need ever occurs! - Older 90's sports cars........money pits and cost a bomb to run. - Seat Leon Cupra.........meh - Audi something or another..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - Anything Honda........rev tastic
  19. Looked like one but thats how they look stock these days Stock diesel Evo Not a huge amount in it
  20. Just drove passed his house when the guy was test driving the Lancer - parasitic scum from the press were parked outside in their vans. I understand that its terrible to commit suicide when the guy has a family but you just can't make a judgement on it - you don't know what pushed him or why he did it and anyone who can't have sympathy for him is seriously missing some human empathy
  21. Great minds lexx I was gonna suggest an r34 gtt as well http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3402569.htm Ricey il give u the extra £600.... Once lexx has bought my car Lol - at what point does an R34 become 'not massive amounts more expensive' to run than a Diesel Lancer! Not sure Carla would be too impressed either - when Ian bagged his Skyline her exact words were 'is that a joke - whats he really bought?' Don't forget we've still got the 350z sat on the drive too! I did look at the Maz 3 MPS but same problem as the 6 - bit bland for me. Also even given the big BPH differences nothing seems much quicker than the ST
  22. +1 if he's not on faceplant then he probably doesn't want to be found. Use it as an excuse and travel the world looking for him!
  23. EXACTLY my problem with the MPS - way too bland. You know my feelings on the RX8 (although the R3 looks ) I probably should have added to that list - must be a lazy engine. I hate engines you have to thrash to death (bye bye any thing Honda )
  24. Very nice - the Nismo kit really never wears on me - looks awesome every time I see it.
