  1. I'm being PT'd by an mma/kickboxer dude tomorrow.....33-1 record.......shatting my slacks
  2. As said jib the car insurance mate (which is yet another kick in the teeth about paying hundreds out for cover then not claiming!). If home insurance doesn’t cover then get a quote for a respray. Best way to work out cost is to do a dummy quote for insurance on the meerkat or moneysupermarket – stick a claim in and drop your NCB off (if its not protected) – see what damage it does to your premium – times that by 3 (years until it drops off) and add in your excess. That will give you a rough idea of the comparable cost. Shitter

    why so difficult?!

UV worldwide.....they come with a good rep! ..........and I AM joking before anyone scampers off to use them!
  4. Welcome buddy - for a minute I got all excited and thought you were a Chevette nut!!!! Try the Zeds for Sale section - decent budget like that should get you a really nice example so hunt around.
  5. Swikes - there's a bomb waiting to happen! In the interests of international and world peace I'll just say honestly I don't think Neily is really the trolling type.....totally honest I think he just didn't realise who's wanted thread he was responding too. I replied to his post but noticed it disappeared so I edited mine as it didn't make sense any more - I think he just hadn't realised that you were looking to boost a basic stock car up to big power.......his statement is the usual forum response to anyone looking to spend peanuts on a Zed and has little in the way of budget for running costs - just friendly advice to stop someone crippling themselves (and we've seen enough Zeds being bought and slung 3-6 months laters because of costs). Knowing Neil I think it was a genunine mistake..................either that or he was really trying to twist your nuts up
  6. The OP only has to ask - his choice......for the time being Top moderating! This is the most entertaining thread I've seen in months!!!!! Its about time someone had a good old argument. Rainman is fast becoming my favourite forum member - 2 threads, 8 posts, told everyone there cars are worth chuff all and 2 arguments...........I think I'm positively in love - he could be the new Sarnie if this keeps up! If you all behave I might even get some piccies out soon.
  7. Honest opinion Phil - even based on 8 posts - the chances of you keeping the car stock are nil I reckon! I think the reason why people will have 'fuller' values on here is you in many cases get an invaluable background to the car for at least the last persons owership. Service history tells a lot but on here you also get a feel for how many issues they've had, accidents involved in, detailing pictures, parts used for spares and repairs, previous modifications..........its all definitely worth a few more quid than the guides (obviously all subject to someone actually posting up these things on the forum). Generally forum members on here do tend to look after their cars better than the overage Joe as they're more of an 'enthusiast' than an 'owner'.........obviously there exceptions to the rule but there are a large quantity of OCD detailing nutters on here. Keep looking though and with the plans you've got I reckon you'll get what you need - might need a bit of tidying but if your swapping the block out then its not that much bother.......even low milers have the niggling issues.
  8. Plenty passing 100k but I think Phil said he's looking at getting upto around 360bhp..........has anyone taken a Zed up that high on a 100k+ car who can offer any advice? I've not really got a clue but I would have thought it would be a fair bit riskier doing it on a high miler? If your 6k in for the car and another 6k in for the bump in BHP you wouldn't want a nasty engine boom to go with it!
  9. Good luck with the search mate but i reckon your looking at fairly galactic milage for a UK car at that money
  10. Im a spaz (and I go mean proper 'special') and I managed it. Its not a 10 min job but so long as you take your time you'll be alright. The vents were the trickiest bit. I got in a right mess with it and ended up disconnecting the battery to reset it (after I initally reset it the window would drop back to half way!!!!! )
  11. D..d.dd.ddd...ddddefinitely the zed....yeahyeah......d...d....d....definitely the zed.............aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhh.........aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhh
  12. You've definitely got to be a certain type of person for home learning. It can be VERY hard to motivate yourself and like Rich said your very isolated even if you have 'access' to a designated tutor.
  13. Hmmmmm I'm not convinced this meets the true 'shed' credentials here. Its a bit too cool for true shedding
  14. Aye - same shite different desk. Cheap as chips though - we've just got our renewal quotes through from Admiral. Z4 - £750 (4 years no claims) 350z - £750 (6 years no claims - 2 mods delclared) Fiesta - £350 (5 years no claims) Total £1850ish Admiral have failed to add a non-fault claim on to the quote and refuse to move my 5 years no claims from the Fiesta onto the Z4 (spk to them when I bought the Z4 last year and without them saying the words it was clear that they just knew that speaking to customer services in mumbia would result in them wanting to commit hari kari) Insurancesupermarket has returned the following quotes WITH an non-fault addcident and 4 modifications to the Zed (basically all of the mods including spacers which they have classed as 'non-standard alloy wheels' just in case anyone was wondering). Z4 - £550 350Z - £650 Fiesta - £250 ......and who did these quotes come from??? Admi-****. I'm beginning to despise several things about the modern world but more than ANYTHING I hate HATE HATE HATE insurance companies and their legalised racketeering. I'm going to cancel the policy and move to Elephant for 2 cars and Bell for the other (as they are only 5 quid dearer) - for no better reason than I want them to have to issue all of the paper work several times.
  15. The only real exception to the cheap exhaust rule is Scorpion......and even then mines a little wonky donkey.
  16. I say email him back and say 'look I know I said 650 but I've had a chat with my mates and actually I'm slapping another 200 notes on sweet cheeks.....how'd you like them apples'
  17. 800-900 I reckon. Forget the rarity, wheels are wheels....there's usually another manufacturer doing a similar style.
  18. Sounds like a dicky sensor. Search Spursmaddave's posts he had a similar problem
  19. Happy birthday my brother from another mother.
  20. Where's bigbramble when you need him!
  21. Not really that odd a question mate. The difference between a normal 3 series coupe and an m3 is vast. Not really a big difference between 3.0l coupe and z4 m coupe in performance, price or looks! Most reviews ive read have suggested that the extra 10k on list price is simply not worth it. Its probably more like comparing the new 335i coupe and m3. Sorry mate - didn't mean to sound arsey - was on my phone which is a pig to type on so words were at a premium! What I meant was it depends what your requirements are really - are you buying this on a budget (I was and I wanted a fast, reliable, reasonably cheap to run, cool car). However if I had the money and didn't have a 350 to run as well then yes it would be M all the way.......its for your missus isn't it? Is she really going to appreciate the M and all that it comes with? Tramlining aside (just swap them off for normal tyres) its a whole lot of car in standard for and it absolutely flys. The steering is unusual as mentioned above but probably well suited to a lady as its really light (although hit the sport button and it all tightens up). M means higher tax (or not and I can't be bothered checking ), higher insurance (G 19/20 I should think), worse fuel consumption. Are you really going to exploit the extra that you get with the M?
