Your job has a bad reputation which I think some people find hard to let go of as well. I can't see that a sales man from a dealership or any garage he has no shareholding in would really give much of a toss about the margin being made but never the less has a formula that his boss wants him to stick too. Then we all get really offended and think its the salesman himself who's trying to fleece you! I hate getting a low part ex price but I hate even more the god damn 419 scamming hassel of flogging a car privately.

More interesting is the length of time a car is kept for in conjunction with the owners age..........I bet that would paint a more interesting picture. A lot of 20 somethings pick one up and ship it out within 12 months whereas the geriatrics tend to hold on a lot longer.

Unless your car is on 150k+ miles, you practically stole that. Decent low-mid mileage 2005 cars are between 7-8K normally. DB +1.........you must have galactic mileage or lots of moggies lurking in the VOSA history!

Ahhhh. I wouldn't worry about that chief. Perhaps he just wants to clear it out before sinking a ruck of cash on tax and taking the risk on the MOT (might not think anythings wrong with it......just doens't want the ballache). If the money looks good for it then give it a good going over (or get a mate who knows his stuff to look at it).
