......the sweet just ain't as sweet.
Merc back from garage today with an £850 bill to sort the little judder that it had under low rpm acceleration......basically rad had failed and contaminated auto box with glycol.
3 days being told wrong rad arrived blahblahblah. Eventually pick it up and he advises that he's installed the wrong rad to get me on my way but to come back tomorrow/thurs as the correct one will be in (only difference he reckons was a pipe at the top that's blanked on the right one that isn't on this one and he's put a temp blank on).
Drive car home......perfect. Smooth as silk and pulling like a train. No juddering, no slipping just perfect
Get home and then drive to footy.....2 miles down the road it starts slipping and then slips completely (like you would imagine if a clutch totally failed on a manual). then it started whining (which went after a couple of restarts).
Stop and started car and it was pulling again but no changing gear.......then going back to slipping again.
Christ knows what they've done but I don't understand how a gearbox can be perfect then 2 miles later slipping and stuck in first. Also when clutches go they dont suddenly spring back to life when you restart the car.
Paralysed with fear is about the best way I can describe myself now.
