Why? Sorry but just because you can find one or two cheaper examples doesn't automatically mean the car is overpriced. Look on PH and autotrader, the going rate for this age and mileage is between £6500 and £7500. Yes it's at the top end but it's hardly 'way overpriced'. Also worth bearing in mind that although you never get the full value of mods, it does have a pretty expensive HKS exhaust on. Annoys me that because someone saw a UK car once for £5500 that's apparently what they're all worth now and anything else is overpriced. /rant DB Fair play I actually read the listing wrong......I thought that was just the first bid not the asking price.

Ok so a clutch is a bad example my point being that a car with 100k nonwithstanding the 'bullet proof' engine has other parts that are going to be worn after 100k.....if your buying on a budget and looming at high milers just to be wary of this fact. There are bushes, arms, bearings, gearboxes, clutches, hoses and other assorted crap that arre not going to last forever (like the engine can) and can still mount up to a whole sack of cash.

I know but my point being its all well and good buying a car with 100k because the engine is sound but dont expect it to be large cost free (well comparativly.....spending a grand on a new clutch is a lot to me

Was it already in the car when u bought it? Trace the lead back or see if theres a serial number on it? Might be a tracker? Ejector seat? Surely he'd know what it was if this wasnt the case? Drat beaten to it!

That's incredible!! Not really. My v6 Alfa did 250K and my 04 GT is on 132K at the moment. V6 engines live for ever if you look after them and spend your time cruising up and down motorways. Oh, and you have looked at the odometer in most taxis? Its a complete myth that engines have to be bought with low mileage, but that worry over mileage makes it better for us buyers who pick up a bargain car Engines are about the most solid thing in a car. The fact that you may have spent 3 grand on 4 clutches over that period of time along with all the other items that do wear out is something else!

But like the budgie.......they're cheep! The discs have always ended up squeaking and squealing no matter how much copper gak I put on them. They stop you though............after a fashion.
