Sadly I'm poor these days so it's a 2l. Still a very characterful engine and handles and puts power down better than the V6 but yes I'm afraid the iconic Alfa V6 has alluded me. Certainly for this kind of money. Plus side it's 30mpg, 3k cheaper and a better drivers car! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Can i just say 'Maserati' again.....just in case you didn't hear. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

You know those days when you need ebay taking off you? I sort of half arsed bid because I thought the reserve was higher. Can't say I'm not a little excited. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

When you say "well under the speed limit" If for example it's a 50mph road you still shouldn't be entering the roundabout at that speed. Not trying to be condescending but have you considered you were going a little to fast? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

I doubt he'll be stopping breaking cars on the basis of one dicky engine. Christ if selling faulty parts put your business on hold, Eurocarparts would never make a sale! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Don't forget there are 2 states. Inlet clean Exhaust clean. Ideally you need both. Having taken many diesel Inlet manifolds off I'd have to say for the longevity of your engine it sounds very worth it. That said Rich from HDEV has a pretty low opinion of it if memory serves but I can't remember why (maybe something to do with perishing seals). Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Build threads are great for finding out stuff. A mate of mine was looking at an Astra VXR the other year. He found a lovely example of one for sale, low miles, history sounded good. However, through the powers of google he found a build thread on an Astra forum for a guy who had bought a written off Astra VXR and rebuilt it. Apparently it had to be rejigged and all sorts and the guy had endless problems trying to fix the car up and getting it working properly. Anyway, turned out it was the same car. Sounds about right for a VXR......utter junk stock or modified Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Youll be surprised what a decent interior cleaner or apc with light agitation from a soft brush and a wipe with a microfibre will do. Toothbrush is poss a bit too course but a soft bristle one is probably ok The microfibre should wick it away Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Same here. Many years ago i used Albany(?) assistance......useless. Nearly as useless as the 'approved repair centre' who carried out the work Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

1St drive home from dealership and top end is knocking

Whom pray did you purchase this fine vehicle from? I wouldnt mind a guess but lets hear it. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -
I heard that they can cause/accelerate corrosion because they trap water around the rim edge. No evidence to back this up but the theory could stand up. Ive seen quite a few bits of damage caused by magnetic signs on car paint (rusting/lacquer failure) Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Please help with problem with an engine that I supplied recently
Ricey replied to Jon T's topic in 350Z Technical
Will the VQ run with no MAF signal? and if what Ricey is saying is correct and there are four possible positions for the flywheel to be fitted, it would mean that the position could be anything from 45 deg or more out, which would not allow the engine to even run, but even so the sensor will just count teeth, and the ECU will know the relevant position for correlating the cam POS with the crank to determine the actual real position, so in theory unless these do tally up the engine will not fire anyway. I only know because my mech fell foul of it once. Box off again......strewth! He's a cracking mech but thats where being a specialist sometimes pays dividends. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -

There is no crank sensor on the front of the engine. The crank sensor is on the rear of the engine/gearbox bell housing and picks up from the flywheel. I still say that the crank sensor or the fly fitted wrongly is the issue, however you can never legislate for simple silly mechanic mistakes. Wasn't aware of that, thanks! presume its a hall sensor that reads flywheel/starter teeth? makes sense, i am used to hall triggers on the front of crank, Surly the flywheel is pegged onto the end of the crank to avoid incorrect fitting? Yes this was my thinking on the miss diagnosis of the mechanic. Nope. Aftermarket fly basically says something along the lines of 'there are 4 ways to fit this.......one is correct.......good luck' Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -
Spark plug through the glass and call your insurer. Seriously mate polishing glass is extremely difficult. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

See how the weave curves off in the recess on the blue piece? That's the biggest issue with carbon. It goes where the water wants to take it so some little bits like that will curve away. Crap dippers will have it like a dogs hind leg all over the place Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

There's about 50 different films and some are pretty nasty. This is MCarbon which is as close to OEM as I've seen. You can choose the undercoat to suit your coding requirements as well Personally I'd rather chop my self in half than try to dip a door card because of all of the nobbles. Devils own job to sand all that flat. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

I've asked my mech and he's not got any ideas but unlikely it's a sticky valve situation. For all 6 to go it must be timing related. Could of clacked a valve or 2 but hopefully nothing too drastic. Does anyone know if the VVT system is electronic or oil pressure fed? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -

Sorry I misread you there Pedro. Ignition in plenum on all 6 has got to be a timing issue. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -

So what are we saying? No oil pressure Ignition happening in plenum chamber All else is well? How is he reading the oil pressure? Internal gauge? Diagnostic? Has he compression tested again to check for sticky valve? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
