  1. No rasp in my set up, Akrapovic Evo and Berks, just P51 Thunderbolt cacophony Doesn't help I know, but I can post whore my set up
  2. Having owned a RX8 for over 4years, I would strike this of the list, not trying to do Cesc out a sale, but the MPG is crippling, there's also the start up shut down procedure, which if not careful will cause flooding, a nightmare to sort if you are not very technical. The oil consumption isn't really a problem and for a sports coupe it is very practical. Not what your Mrs needs methinks, while you can get them at knockdown prices, if anything goes wrong, it's expensive. Loads of alternatives out there, for £10k she could just about get a split new Seat Ibiza FR, not everyones cup of tea but has reasonable performance and great fuel economy. One of my daughters had an Aygo and that was flippin brilliant, not much of a load space but 4 adults will fit in, probably getting a bit dated looks wise. Leon, Golf, Audi A3, are all good marks and virtually the same engines, Mazda MP3 are like the proverbial off a shovel and very practical.
  3. If there's any saving in fuel in Monaco, you'll burn it in the traffic and mooching about getting parked.
  4. Livigno was designated a tax free zone within Italy to drum up trade to what is essentialy a bleak and sparsely populated area. Be careful though with booze and fags, there are "internal" custom posts on exit
  5. That's just someone who has spotted it from their bedroom window, followed the owner about a bit and decided to sell it "for him" Barge pole, wouldn't and touch come to mind
  6. Epic indeed I didn't have to google Stelvio, was there last year in my Rex We kind of did that route in reverse, started from Santander to Barca though and then through the South of France to Italy and Stelvio, return trip diagonally across France to Normandy and fast ferry from Caen to Portsmouth. I'm not sure whether you will be approaching the summit from the other side, we came up from the Italian side, man that road is scary Lots of little tunnels, single track and black as a witches heart. It'll be mobbed with bikers in July and they are nuts!! Keep your nerve and just make them move over Pic Whore time
  7. Ahhh, our roads are good and it's against the law not to go out and enjoy them I presume you stuck to the mainland?, which is uber fantastic You're close to Wales though, which offers a similar experience, on a tamed down sort of way Your choice of whisky is, informed, but not a patch IMO, on other Islay whiskies, personal favourite, Ardbeg, closely followed by Col Isla, Quarter Cask Laphroaig, Lagavulin (sp), Bunahabhain (sp) then Bowmore Mariner. You have summed up what owning a Zed is all about and where to find that experience, if you like the "wilder" experience, try looking here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=49707,
  8. That thing he's working on needs spacers and lowered
  9. Not lowered and as most are, I'm on 19", still happens though.
  10. Good luck to Mrs DoogRev's son That was emotional to say the least, God bless them all.
  11. Not really, the left followed by the tright hander going onto the back straight can almost be taken flat out in a straight line, it's the dip followed by the rise that puts most off, my favourite bit of Knockers
  12. I wouldn't be happy putting them back in As said, put new ones in
  13. Nice one Neil Look forward to the camera mount ones
  14. Fuel consumption should be the least of your worries, this is taken from the owners manual, in yank speak and probably describing "pinking". That can't be good for consumption levels. Using unleaded gasoline with an octane rating lower than recommended above can cause persistent, heavy spark knock. (Spark knock is a metallic rapping noise.) If severe, this can lead to engine damage.
  15. Caught mine a few times, sounds worse than it is.
  16. The G Man - if you're going to the track day at Blyton let me know - I'm only ten minutes from there and can come along for moral support/mechanics etc. Also a spare bedroom if you need one Wow, thanks very much for the offer Our plans are fluid at the moment, taking my mum to a family holiday in North Wales first week of August, trying to juggle what cars and who's driving on that one, there's 16 of the family going and we've booked a big house, some from London but most from up here. I may need the moral support, the Blyton day will be full of RX8 owners, they love to slag my "Fat Datsun" , but they weren't slagging it at the recent RAF Valley track day, they were mostly moving out the way I'll let you know, thanks
  17. There's a specific instruction in the manual to use 98RON minimum and only use 95RON in an emergency but just enough to get you to a 98RON garage. Abbey, I believe, are developing a map for 95RON. ZedHead in Benbecula only ever uses 95 as 98 is unavailable anywhere in the Western Isles.
  18. That was her the day after , looking rough as ars*holes That was the funniest "tent tunneling" ever
  19. ^^^ Tame My car a few years ago Stikaz!!!!!!! First photo sponsored by Scotch Whisky , as a guest of the Mayor of Mulsane
  20. Good luck, have a great trip But why are you not stickered up? Le Mans tradition
  21. oh lord, you have just brought a new insight to part of my childhood... I take it your dad was a military man who checked your homework? If not I'm intrigued.....
