  1. Oh, need you to do some gas sniffing for me in a week or so, so stand by
  2. Thanks Neil, those little babies in the link look the puppies danglies Couple of questions, what dimmer switch/rating would suit them and are they suitable for a bathroom as well? Can I get them locally, if so where? Are the ones in your van suitable for a bathroom and are they LED's? Doh!! just re=read your last post The Halogen bulbs are useless, so LED's are going in all lamps.
  3. I'm only going to buy the kit required, so as the "tradesman" doesn't have his usual 20% markup The install will be done by a competent person I can't be trusted to wire a plug
  4. Going through a major refurbishment of my house at the minute and the time is drawing close for lighting fitments. So this is one for the sparks out there. What is required, regards dimmer switches for dimmable LED downlighters, is there a particular rated switch?, does the lights, transformers have to have any special spec?, can I just use normal dimmer switches?. My house is now basically an open plan kitchen/dining room/living room area. I would like the kitchen/dining room area to be run off of one switch, probably around 12/14 downlighters and the living room area off another switch, another 12/14 downlighters. I've had a look on tinternet for some clarity, but it gets way over my head technically with respect to electrics. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated, especially if put into layman's terms
  5. Don't leave it too long, I may throw him a bone
  6. What dyno was that on? Most we've seen have been from Abbey on they Dynapack, 320@hub sounds high compared to theirs. Maybe you have a freak of nature No just a superior car No just on a dyno we know reads consistently higher than Abbey's 300+@WHP is more than enough for anyone, we should all be very happy

  8. This should make you feel grateful My wife has scuffed TWO of my alloys AND put a F*CKING BIG SCRAPE on the front of the bumper!!!!!!!! Not a sorry or guilty conscience, just a, well, shrug of the shoulders and a "it's only a car" remark!! Hanging is too good for her, it's a great BIG kick up the erse she needs PS the bumper is all fixed
  9. I have a similar set up but got slightly better results, went from 306 on the first dyno, to 320.3 when properly remapped. IMO the Akro and Berks make the difference, torque was a tad higher 280lb/ft rings a bell, and the power delivery is night and day across the range.
  10. I agree, it's over ambitious You'll be lucky to average 30 mph from Fort William!! Take a few more days and really take it all in, Scotland is a BIG country on rural roads. Think of it this way, it's up and down from London to Glasgow, TWICE, on a motorway that's a tall order, good luck though
  11. Looks like a fantasic day and a brilliant and novel way to spend it, great pics
  12. Just noticed this I guess I'll ask again in September Fit it all myself mate, I'm slow but I'm rough
  13. Just as well you're my dad Anyone done anything to their 370 re brakes, out of interest
  14. I fookin' knew you'd say that I suppose I'm that much in credit with you that it wouldn't cost that much
  15. I love that colour, can't wait to see the finished product

    Brake Upgrade

Reading Ebized's thread on his brake problems (viewtopic.php?f=102&t=62092) have got me thinking AGAIN, on a brake upgrade. I used to have a set of these http://www.racingbrake.com/MIATA_MX5_RX ... 2131-k.htm on my RX8, absolutely brilliant they were, never faded, performed in all modes, aggressive road or track driving or in an emergency braking situation when pootling around. I don't have a problem with my braking system on the 370, works adequately, but that's the rub, adequately!! I really want something more than adequate, I want sharp, strong and added stopping performance. These are on RB's site for the 350 http://www.racingbrake.com/350Z_G35_FRO ... 2026-k.htm I'm in the middle of a very, very expensive house re-furb (spent 4.5k today on a few kitchen implements , and haven't bought a carcass or cupboard yet to put them in ), so before Alex and Chris start teasing me with products, it will be couple of months before my sanity and wallet recover enough to carry out an upgrade. My question is, who has and what kit have you used to upgrade the brakes on the 370, what are your honest thoughts and do you believe it is value for performance and money spent?
  17. I used to be that rough man, but smooth as silk now
  18. Good outcome and top notch professional service by the sound of it Precise and logical write up as well The Eibach spacers are top notch but I can understand why you went for the original set up. 25mm on the 370 is the max that should be fitted IMO, anything bigger will lead to the wheels sticking out, I think illegally Have you amended the write up on the original set up, as you say, the material in the ripspeed "spacer" extension was not up to the job. Good news though
  19. George I got the FI second hand and it didn't cost a great deal more than the CF tips on your Akro. But it is very good quality. See it's the Welsh that are tight not you lot north of the boarder. And yes your Akro is the dogs danglies. Yeah, ya tight git The tips are Ceramic CF with Titanium internal. gives me 5000 more bhp and makes the car 2 tons lighter so worh the cost
  20. Also the tone will change, for ALL exhausts, when they are properly coked up , so chances are that drone at "labouring revs", will most likely dissapear. For top quality and top gains, Akro + Berks all the way, but it is pricey
  21. Some nice pics there Kim Great to have you guys along on the drive - loved your enthusiasim and passion for enhancing the 370 and look forward to seeing you out on future meets and this one confirms for me the 25mm spacers I put on just before the weekend (instead of the 23mm spacers - more anon) have got the stance just right Glad to see you and screamer have seen the light 25mm all the way
  22. Information update for those wishing to DIY
