Daily Mail, missed the point blah blah blah Just saw some cyclist, the best in the world apparently at sprinting, blame the Aussies, the rest of the world and wanted a fight with a BBC "journalist, just because he was beaten by someone faster , laughed my head off at that. Brilliant Oh and there are 26 hd channels, actually Frankie Boyle rools Good to see an that there's already an investigation into empty seats, some government minister has said it was due to "corporate" ticket holders not turning up, hope none of you were disappointed by failing to secure any tickets. Anyway enjoy, it can only get better. Probably nice in Portugaul

Sounds like it was a bit of a spectacle. Missed the lot, through choice as I can't stand any longer the BBC presenting team (watched Cowboys v Aliens instead). Most are a waste of taxpayers money (as is the Olympics IMO, when most of the UK infra is falling apart and we are filling The City's rich pockets with no regard to the poor in this country, we find £10 billion for a BBC fest!), and another tour of the Olympic park by mostly weather girls/boys, is just wearing. Nice to hear that half the "British" team, couldn't be bothered tearing themselves away from the luxury of their Portuguese training camp to attend the opening ceremony, if Chris Hoy can (I'm sure he still managed to put in a few training sessions) surely a bunch of over rated and over pampered can. As someone commented earlier, "now we know where all the NHS beds have gone", yes, cash in the pockets of the political and TV elite, to dupe the rest of the world and this country into thinking we have a perfect idealistic system. Personally dealing with an issue within that system, and it's failing miserably, as has past issues, this is another matter. However I wish all the athletes and competitors well as they are the real stars, having trained for 4 long years just to compete, never mind win, good luck to them. I have no plans to watch any of the Olympics, as I fundamentally disagree with the waste of money and privelage that is bestowed upon the IOC. Having seen an interview earlier in the week with the IOC's president claiming that the IOC were working class people, yes, being wafted from your pad in a 5 star Mayfair hotel in chauffeur driven limo in a dedicated lane on the roads I pay for, was the final straw, I want that type of "working class" lifestyle. I do understand that my avoidance of the games will change nothing. Back to the BBC fest, 22 HD channels!!! I never knew there were that many staff at the BBC, time for a cull in personnel and a cut in licence fee. I do hope all those interested in the event enjoy it to the full, and I'm glad that it's brightening up the majority commenting on this page's life. Have fun, just not for me

Crossed only the once, you only really get the true scale when you are underneath it though I found. Yup, certainly did go to the Cafe de Paris, 30 Euros for 2 drinks and an ice cream but worth it for the people/motor watching! Agree with you on the underside view We spent 3 days touring the area, explored the valley that the viaduct straddles, beautiful area
-
Nice trip The Millau Viduct is something else, how many times did you cross it? We did it three times in a morning when we were last there, cost a fortune but well worth it for the videos Hope you had a coffee in Casino Square at the Cafe de Paris I love trips like this

Jeez, that's utterly horrendous then! Do you leave it in 1st all the time? No, but I would be as well too, my commute is only 6 miles, and car is only just getting to temp on arrival which does not bode well for consumption, both ways
-
No mate it's a 2l turbo diesel
-
In the sense that on a mostly low mileage commute that sort of average is comparable to most "family" saloons petrol or diesel. Our FR doesn't get beyond 30mpg on my particular commute, the 70 comes pretty close. RX8 for example, 1.3lt, 2.6lt swept capacity, 231 BHP equaled 16mpg or less. Our old Accord, 2.0 nothing fancy petrol was a low 20's figure, so the 70 is up there with the burb mobile's. So in conclusion, superb for a car running well over 300bhp! 3.7 and relatively heavy , not average
-
.........not for a 3.7 my friend

I've had hundreds of hire cars over the years, ranging from Nissan Micra's to to the best "ecoshiftdiesel's", and all have dissapointed in fuel consumption. The worst ever has to be Kia! Had one of these and had to get a "slipstream" from an arctic to barely get 300 miles out the tank!! I haven't ever had to pay for fuel as most were business use, so I suppose I didn't drive in an economical style. The 70 on the other hand, for a relatively heavy 3.7 NA car is superb on consumption, most of my miles these days are commute and some leisure. Very rarely get under 400 to the tank and even then it only takes around 67 or so ltr to top back up to full. Have to agree that the UpRev makes a difference, both to economy and enjoyment. My Mrs Leon FR is not bad on consumption but rarely reaches 50mpg except on longer journeys. I find that filling the tank right up everytime and running till empty or yellow light on is a better way to judge consumption than relying on the "trip computer" and/or just throwing in £20 or £30 every now and again. Also have to agree that the last thing on my list of requirements when I was looking at cars to replace my RX8 was fuel consumption!! Have a look on their OC at fuel consumption threads, most are now suicidal

Intake, won't add much, except noise, if anything that a good panel filter would (cosworth). Bonnet Stay Dampers, are available from the US but some modification (don't know exactly what) is required, ssounds like too much of a ball ache. Spacers, 25mm front and rear works, CS, ZMANALEX etc can supply, Eibach was my choice. Exhaust, The ones you mention are tried and tested though I think some have had fitting issues with the Stillen, some not, the options are endless, Akrapovic again was my choice, but consider a custom system. HFC's, you will have a ball ache of a time if you try and fit these yourself without a ramp, you need access both top and bottom, a reputable garage will have this done in about 45min, the intake needs to be moved out the way for fitment, but is returned to its original position. They sound fantastic IMHO, coupled with an aftermarket exhaust. UpRev, will tie in all the mods and give a reasonable increase in hp along with smoother fueling and more torque, a must when modded IMO. Anything else other than serious internals and/or turbo/super charger is purely cosmetic and entirely up to you, your budget and taste. Oh, nearly forgot brakes, this may be something you might want to do, depending on your style of driving

Using Colins calcs, I now have 368.348bhp, (the .348 is very important ) damn!! I wanted 370, oh well back to the drawing board

There's no one more enthusiastic than me, all I can think of is that someone has messed about with the settings in the connect system that didn't know what they were doing and put in a stupid number which has thrown up a service due type thing, reset it maybe

9K miles or 12 months whatever comes first.

Agreed Even with an UpRev it's not that hot. Best take Neils advice, I am

Make up!, if the lady in your life uses the car, then as with other (well my manky mrs) women, most don't wash their hands after using make up, destroys all finishes, perhaps a previous owner

At over $2k new from the States, that's a very expensive second hand exhaust, is it a type you've had before? For less money you could have a new or custom system. But if it's what you want

Anyone travelling down to Le Mans?
The G Man replied to The Bounty Bar Kid's topic in National Events & Shows
Very, very jealous I was going to organise a club orientated trip this year, but a daughter who announced her pregnancy late last year (gave birth yesterday) and the chance thereof, of doing my house refurb, meant that it wasn't to be!! It would be rude not to sticker up the car, that's a must! Good luck and have a great time, next year I'll be trying my damnedest to organise a trip -
