  1. C'mon, be honest, how many of you thought, "I would"
  2. Most disappointing car I ever owned! V8 fuel consumption for hot hatch performance. A LOT of car for the money if you can ignore that though. Mazda reliability though.........all I had go wrong in 18 months of ownership on a 2 year old car was all of the alloy wheels needed to be replaced due to corrosion, the Bose catastrophically failed, both rear light clusters filled with fog, the handbrake leaver broke, the oil cooler pipes were recalled due to chance of catastrophic failure, it flooded and had to be taken back to Mazda on a low loader to have half the damn engine stripped (not my fault - body shop fecked it after I warned them about the 'rev the @*!# out of it' rule) and finally started to lose power between 3-4k rpm before I got shut. Also as a treat if you left it for more than 48 hours it would refuse to start and had to be bump started (after speaking to Lexx on here some years after getting rid he said I probably murdered the poor thing by bump starting it). I hated the little whorebag though and it was the worst I have ever treated a car in terms of giving it stick. Complete opposite end of the spectrum for me, bought one new ran it EVERY day for 4 1/2 years, 4 massive tours of Europe, Bose played fine everyday, consumables only and routine maintenance, never flooded, drove it like I stole it, great track car, can be run at 10/10 on the limit, controllable, comfortable, fantastic spec, practical, rearwheel drive fun. Only downside was the lack of torque which, only showed up on forays up the Alps. As I said, some owners didn't have a clue on start up/cold close down procedures which could cause flooding, leading to cat failure and not starting, though there is a well rehearsed routine for starting after flooding, so Lexx would be right in your case Ricey
  3. You have PM, so may see you soon after all, might even see if I can cobble up a meet I've gave you a few options re days but most of next weekend is ok for me Let me know
  4. http://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p Not bad http://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/vi ... 15&t=46778, better
  5. As I said, get the seller to have a compression test done, there are a few duds out there but mainly because at some point the owner didn't know how to look after a performance rotary car There's a lot out there with 100k miles on them and only maintenance costs to keep them running. They also come with a very high level of kit
  6. rx8, don't believe that they eat oil, get the compression checked and if you can live with the poor fuel consumption, you'll get a usable 4 seat, 4 door, 228 BHP (231 model), 57 0r 08 plate less than 30k miles for under 4k. Handles better than a Zed, but doesn't have the torque for straightline stuff Much, much better than a Celica I'll wait for those that haven't owned one to now slate it
  7. Sorry mate but unless you're Edinburghish north east, I'm afraid your a bit too far away I have the full Akrapovic Evolution with Carbon Ceramic tips and Berk HFC's Pricey, but if you shop around, continent, as UK distributors are on the dearer side of pricey, may be what they're paying that adds to the costs. Check out German or Polish suppliers, this will bring it in close to the Stillen cost, oh and pay less VAT There are some fantastic systems out there, but the Akro is class Sounds the biz as well Good luck with the search, and no doubt there'll be a plethora of advice coming your way
  8. Only experience I've had is with the Simoniz stuff, it was sh!t!! Elbow grease and warm soapy water FTW
  9. Tut, tut! No forward assist when cocking his weapon
  10. The Eibach spacers I have on are hubcentric, no need for stud change. Under ALL driving conditions, hair on fire, track, to the limit (well my limit), absolutely no rubbing anywhere, under compression (very little if any roll when lowering springs fitted). 20mm on the rear or front are NOT perfectly flush, 25mm are about 1.5mm under the flush, fact, see piccies.
  11. "Tank Commander" is indeed a leg end , "Tank Top", is the slowest Karter around (and the strangest dresser ), I'll leave you to decide who "Tanked Up" is
  12. Tyre deflectors and front chin have both been removed. I was scraping those before lowering! Think I might order just 1 set of 25mm, try them on the front if they fit without rubbing - job done, if not at least I can use them on the back and then get 20mm on the front. The 25mm only come with one type of fitting system whereas with the 20mm you have a choice of two fitting systems with one being a bit more involved than the other. Give Alex a shout mate, he double checked with Eibach direct on the correct fitments I'm sure you'll be ordering a second set straight away George, have you had the wheel alignment done yet? I've read loads of posts on the 370Z.com forum saying it needs doing after lowering to try and recover the camber back to OEM settings. Yes I did, I had "tyre scrub" on low speed full lock turning, turned out it was the tyres that needed replacing at the front (uneven wear, but I put it down to a track day I'd done), replaced all four but there was no issues with the geo set up, this was carried out at Infiniti in Glasgow a few months ago. Recently had the P2 done and all the tyres were showing even wear all round and no geo issues found. I would have it checked AFTER the spacers are on, as even after your springs were fitted, it'll still need a few miles on her to "bed" them in, so now would be good time to fit the spacers, as your springs are relatively new on.
  13. Me and Jay are bosses!! Craigs our bitch, mainly because he's now 30 and classified as old while we're still young studs :kicking More like "Tank Commander", "Tank Top" and "Tanked Up"

  15. None at all mate, and mine is a similar drop on the Eibachs, Ebized has no probs either although his isn't lowered I believe. Biggest prob is the tyre deflectors rub if you so much as drive over a fag paper
  16. I bet his arse dropped when he read that £200 + VAT at Infiniti Glasgow, including all parts, but PM'ing Alex is a good shout

  19. Check out Ebizeds thread, first post updated recently viewtopic.php?f=103&t=34297, not recommended to put 20's on the front. 25mm all round
