That was my point, there's a lot of comment on the 350 Nismo and how the 370 version doesn't compare, it is what it is, a vast improvement, aesthetically, more powerful, refined and attractive. Although it's not a c0ck waving exercise, if you put the two of the variants together, 99.999999999999% of car drivers would prefer the newer model.
The 50 is dated now and, although it would have been a nice touch to have an R version, the market that it's aimed at and, as has been pointed out by more than a few, the said market doesn't exist anymore, if that makes sense.
Having looked at in depth, at a 'premium' make, and whilst it was affordable, to me, the Nismo just had it all, criticism on a comparative note to any other Z or any other marque, just doesn't wash. It is the best of the Z cars so far, not to everyone's taste, but a fact, modern, undeniably more up to date and very, very rare.
I'm long enough in the tooth and worldly wise enough to spot green eyes in some comments directed at the car so far. We'd all be kidding ourselves if we thought that this was not the case.
