  1. Japan are scaring the bejesus out of me
  2. Last nights game does not inspire confidence in the England squad, for 70 minutes they were rubbish, couldnt event start the 2nd half strong and got lucky on some of the calls (IE. disallowed try, very very close to being missed). I don't think that's quit fair, Fiji are no pushover and to get the five tries against them was a good opening result, England were strong when it got wobbly in spots, but first night nerves played their part. Don't forget, Fiji are ranked 9th in the world rankings and the vast majority are playing high end pro rugby. Brown, who annoys me in the extreme, was outstanding, if he remains injury free, he'll score against anyone.
  3. I hope England reach the final, don't care who against
  4. No Stu, if anything it'll strengthen her hand. Kezia Dugdale, the delusional labour leader in Scotland was quite anti Corbyn in the lead up to his election (another own goal by Scottish labour, not knowing the 'mood' of her own party). So it just strengthens the infighting perception that is actually, very real in Scottish Labour. I feel empathy for Corbyn, he was never going to get a smooth ride by the right wing dominated press, even the BBC 'luvvies' are giving him a hard time. Totally and utterly unelectable, which will be another major trigger up here in the independence debate. He will, of course, seek support from the Nationalist Westminster party, who are right of centre compared to Corbyn.
  5. interested in the thoughts of my southern cousins on the election of the new Labour leader today. At the minute here in Scotland, he's relatively inconsequential, but, would he make a difference to how you vote in the future? I was quite enthused by the rejection of the Blairites and the press reaction.
  6. Another 'also' why is that comment never advised when something like the 'Tartan Tarmac' or similar is posted? Just trying to clarify the clubs stance on this. There are many members that are now non Z owners, indeed, members of 'The Team', that this affects. Would this constitute a constitutional fundamental breach of some rule? Genuinely, I think the statement requires clearing up
  7. I'm not kidding here, not me obviously, but I know lots of others who would love to take advantage of you, offering a decent price, that is. Or is it, all mouth no trousers? Seriously, this could be an earner!!
  8. Maybe, but it's a very ugly car! I'm selling mine and buy a "Stang" Wise decision, you'll get yourself a reputation for having a modicum of style
  9. Made me laugh I know it's been done in many formats/leanings, but it is funny
  10. Just to clarify, 'cannot be backed or supported by the forum', does that extend to running a thread with the meet details? I understand that the 'club' has a form of insurance, don't quite know what that means in terms of someone running a meet that's attended by non members ( bearing in mind, if I take my wife on a club organised meet, she is a non member) as well as members. If the 'insurance' is null and void, when a non member attends, does this constitute things like hotel block bookings, obviously using the club name, but is of no concern if members/non members make their own private arrangements? Or does, as I've intimated, using this platform to organise the meets details/information, make it something that would be, in the case of this thread, deleted or similar. I'm sure it would help if Wendy had the issue explained in full, as it would me and others. Not trying to be problematic, just slightly disturbed that this may be the case. The insurance, is not an issue surely if it's at an individual's own risk (with their own travel/car/personal effects/home insurance)? Or is it way simpler than this
  11. No probs, happy to help fellow Z trippers
  12. Wendy, thank you for organising this. I'm sure it'll be a great success. I've organised quite a few trips in the NW of Scotland for other car clubs and have driven just about every square inch of the NC500, several times. My eldest daughter and her partner have a holiday cottage in Applecross, lots of contacts and friends there. Solid contacts round Oban and Seil Island (bridge over the Atlantic). Between me, my daughter, friends up Oban way, there is hardly a hotel or restaurant that we don't know in the north west, some of the best eating to be had. I've extensive knowledge of the very northern coast, from Cape Wrath (well Durness really) to Thurso and all in between. My wife has all the contacts on the east, Golspie/Dunrobin/Black Isle area. Skye is a good shout, however, the quality of road is not the best, if anyone is concerned about road rash on the front of their car, Skye is best avoided. Anyway, you get the drift, whilst I may be on a different meet a week earlier, if you need any help, recommendations or suggestions, give me shout, happy to help any members meet up in that area
  13. Don't believe you, picture or it didn't happen.
  14. Keep your clothes on, safer I love a challenge, can you not tell? I suppose that's why the team gave you your nickname
  15. Was just wondering this myself. Couldn't be assimilated probably, don't know myself, he was going to be my Mustang guru
  16. That's quite a lot of money to throw at your car, or have I missed something? Surprised at the spacers, don't really know why, I suppose that I've always seen them as purely aesthetic and performance hindering. Is it to eventually be a track thing or just to spruce up?
  17. Yeah I get what your saying but this is not really a forum meet just a bunch of people who met up on here, there are more non Zeds than Zeds. We have posted up threads before and got mixed responses but at the end of the day it's more to show people how much fun can be had, not to gloat or anything. Posting routes and plans on an open forum before we went could cause all sorts of problems unfortunately... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You could pm them. Only to those that you'd like to join you of course, missed opportunity really. Still, have fun!
  18. You won't regret it if you do We do get weather that's good you know. If you go up Applecross way, this'll be the week that happens every 10 years or so that you'll see the Torridon Range peaks! Climbed every one of them, get out the car, go climb!! You might even catch sight of the SBS roping into the sea and join a sub!!
  19. On the A816, there's a cracking hotel called the Loch Melfort hotel, spent a very tranquil few days there on R&R from my last 'Stan tour. Got great gardens, SNT, but worth the admission, the food in the hotel is amazeballs Views right down the loch from every room, very romantic, all of the rooms have balconies
  20. *nodding very slowly* Double post, no? Oh I see, that something is something none of you are probably capable of naughty boys
  21. Right, now that the juvenile internet bullying things out the way:). I'll make a positive ( mine have been positive comments so far) contribution If I were 'allowed' to come along, these are some of the suggestions on routes/slight detours that I would love to show you. Not knowing your route I've put together a couple of options If you are going up the A82 and planning on a west coast route North, may I suggest hanging a right onto the A817, this is the old military road that the nuke convoys used to take for Faslane. It's fast, very fast, sweeping and suited to all types of performance cars, you will all do well to keep up with Adie in a GTR on this, wider than normal rural roads. At the end turn right onto the A814 to Arrocher. A much tighter road, but stunning Loch Long views, you also get to see some interesting military infrastructure. Not suited to SMDs Jag, more the Wills Zed, the GTR will not struggle, however the Zed will keep apace with ease. You then have two options at Arrocher: 1. Turn right on the A83 to Tarbert and pick the A82 up to continue north along Loch Lomond. 2. Alternatively, turn left onto the A83 and head for Inveraray, a good stop off, atop the 'Rest and Be Thankful', tea n bun wagon there, or onto the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar ( this is where Blair, Brown and Prescott had their carving up meeting), food is simply better than anywhere you'll have eaten seafood before. Continue to Inveraray and again, you have two options, take the A819 back directly North, to the A85 ( two options there again) or go a bit further down to Lochgilphead. This route has open stretches from the 'Rest and Be Thankful' and beautiful winding, excellent surfaced roads, I've driven an M3 and an R8 on this route. At Lochgilphead, turn right at the Crinan Canal, onto the A816, head North to Oban. I've got fantastic contacts there that will make your stay, if you did very interesting, bit of a punchy town so if you're a bit of girl, it pays not to start an argument The A816 is challenging, for the most part it's very winding, suit the GTR and Auti (I presume) of the Jag, can be tiring in a manual. If you have the bottle, it's a tremendous road to hoon! Once up in Oban, cross the Connel bridge onto the A828, again, twisty and in some places tight, not passing place tight but more suited to a hot hatch/Zed. Once across the Ballachulish Bridge, on the A82 again, there's the Corran ferry, take it, then head North again. I need to get to work now, so can't post up any more at the minute, but suffice to say, have a great trip, enjoy the roads, my country and stay safe
