What sort of money are they charging for the under seal? I might use them to 're do' Fords slapdash effort at Zeebruge on my 'Stang, and fit my new exhaust at the same time
-
They give a preferential rate for club members and don't have any apprentices. You'll pay £50 an hour + VAT, an independent will charge not far off if not the same. The senior mechanic is a former head Mercedes tech, and his partner in crime is a Nissan trained master tech. Take it to an independent by all means, ask them for a brand new courtesy car for @ £15, let us know if you get that and from whom please . If it's TLC for your car that you want, look no further
-
Just to update, I've removed my personal plate and it is on the original 63 plate, mine is on retention

Goes to Zeebruge, I know the boat and can track it, but looking at a green triangular arrow for a week or two doesn't fill me with joy

My little piece of Americana has set sail from Baltimore a few hours ago Just saying........ :kicking:
-
Replied now Ace, apologies but I didn't get the email notification re pm
-
Can't see them doing that, they give you a local appointment, then look at your car and agree the price, not seen anything on any fee payable.

might as well give myself a bump

Have you tried WBAC? You might be pleasantly surprised

So, thought I'd give a little update . My Mustang is due to leave Baltimore on the 23 Feb, bound for Zeebrugge where it will clear customs and be under coated . Back on a boat to Southampton then onward to the dealer for delivery week beginning 09 April I've got one or two mods waiting for it when it arrives and at the risk of any traders turning my thread into an advert for themselves (mods please delete if they do), here are what's waiting . The first one is the FRPP by Borla Touring cat back Second is the FRPP Track Handling Kit Third is the FRPP Strut Brace, our UK GT's come with the K brace only because of the pedestrian protection bonnet, similar to our 370's. (I don't know either ) Fourth is a set of 20mm spacers all round, I've also got a set of 25mm fronts and 23mm rears, I'll have a play to see what's best (probably go 20mm rear and 23mm front). I don't have an image of those but you've all seen spacers before Fifth, to complement the spacers and save my paintwork, a set of front and rear RPI Design Stealth Mud Flaps A bit of engine bling now, again RPI Design plenum and coil cover, the coil covers shown are in Race Red mine will be Ruby Red, same as the Plenum, which is, I think very Next is a bit of a departure on a vinyl kit I was looking at, going to go with this one, Matte Black The last thing I've got waiting is my Lioyd boot mat , shaped to accommodate the Shaker Pro Sub in the boot I've one or two other things on their way, Hood Struts and a MGW Short Shifter.

Yes mate, just down the road, Larkhall

Thanks, to all on the compliments, the graphics came from Japan and are genuine Nismo graphics, as I said in my original post, they were professionally fitted by Owen Pilling Graphics (OPG), they do full wraps, commercials, cars, trucks, they could've actually produced the graphic kit in house. Owen put his best man on it and it's flawless . The car is mint, a couple of little chips, nothing really, I only ever used top notch products on it and my regime was quite anal, and it pays off really. Yeah no problem, but if it goes to a dealer, the exhaust, short shifter, GTR starter, Nismo knob and oil filler cap, hell, even the matts are coming out and off . Just sell your car, I'm sure we could do a deal Again, thanks for all the positive comments

Absolutely no problem with speed bumps, my work car park has two before the security gate and a couple in the car park itself, not even close! It was a concern for me before I got the Ark, previous Z was lowered on Eibachs with an Akropovic Evolution exhaust, that was much closer. Bare in mind the Nismo is 14mm lower than stock.

It's only affecting new cars unfortunately Welcome along EcoFriendlyAL -
Same as EH in Glasgow has. There's a few cancelled orders out there, if it's at a Ford franchise, you'll get it at list, although the price has gone up twice now since I ordered, so the new price is what you'll pay on a cancelled order (plus they've probably made on the £1K deposit as well) If it's not at a franchised dealer, you'll pay a premium, there's a few out there that are quite a mark up from list. BTW, that bonnet is flooking huge My Mrs, loved the seats, just as well neither of us has a Hugh Hass , they are 'snug' against the ol' hips

Latest update, 09 April This car has presence in abundance, feels huge but it's not as wide as a Mondeo and is much the same length. Sales dude encouraged a spot of aherm, spirited driving, torque, to me, feels amazing. It's something that I've been looking for since about 2009, ever since my RX8 failed me going up Stelvio on the torque front. My 2 Zeds, provided a very pleasant torque fix Now, this old boat ain't gonna hustle up an Alpine pass without a small but fair bit of fettling on the suspension front, all that is awaiting a 'Stang to be fitted to and lies patiently in my garage. Surprisingly, sounds epic inside the car, a little muted from outside, putting this down to the sound tube from the engine bay, again, a solution is waiting patiently in my garage. There is NO mistaking that mad V8 firing order though, getting moist now in anticipation (bit sad, but I'm getting old and soiling yourself is all part of that process ). Another forum member was next in the line up today for a test drive, you know who you are (he ordered last year as well )

Drove one in the metal today . Very happy with what I'm getting

I'm about 10 miles south east of Glasgow.

Thanks for the comments guys Out of curiosity, I did a quote from 'webuyanycar' today, £24,640, sits around what a dealer offered me, not the Ford one I have my Mustang ordered from, which was £25,000 straight up. For the price I'm asking, this is a bargain. Off to the dealers tomorrow, for a little Mustang fun, where my Mustang is ordered, that particular franchise offers to beat WBAC as a matter of course. Obviously, either of these would get the car minus the mods. Would much rather see the car with a forum member.

Nismo suspension really makes the difference over a stock/GT, straight out the box. Noticeable throttle response and pick up from the increased hp and torque over stock. As with any car, there are a few paint chips on the front bumper, not nearly enough to warrant any form of repaint, just a symptom of the debris that’s on UK roads. Nothing, that can’t be touched up easily. That’s it as far as negatives go! This car gets a LOT of attention, so if you want to blend in with the crowd, it’s not the car for you, there isn’t a day goes by that someone doesn’t gawp, take a photo, start a conversation about it, it’s just an incredible looking machine. My reason for sale is twofold, the impending arrival of my Mustang and the purchase of a VW Camper (with the inevitable small car to tow), I just haven’t got the room on my drive. Also, you’ll notice that I’m doing less mileage, my plans for lots of Euro trips never materialised with my Nismo. The introduction of a 4 seat GT is now my vehicle of choice for a couple of planned trips this year to, possibly Le Mans and a definite trip to Bologna. REDUCED PRICE: £24,4995 OVNO. The cheapest one on Autotrader has more than 10,000 miles more and no mods @ £24950, most start at upwards of £28K I'll answer any questions regarding the car and any inspection is welcome, no tyre kickers and no joy riders, if you have valid FULLY COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE WITH THIS CAR CLEARLY NAMED ON IT, then you can test drive it, I'm more than happy to take any interested party out for a spin. Please try and keep it on topic, serious offers by PM. I’ll leave the pics to give you a better idea (don’t laugh at my attempts).

Last year I so wanted to return to Le Mans, what with Nissan running a Nismo (maybe a good thing I didn't seeing how they performed (rules, I believe interfered), the new Ford GT running this year at Le Mans, is making me want to go. This Ford GT is a beautiful car, from every angle, I'd give Dans left bollock for one
