Not so local, but an awesome route that’s fast, challenging and utterly beautiful, Invergarry to Ullapool via Gairloch takes some beating.... for a mor local run Strathaven - Muirkirk is my go to thrash on a boring evening or afternoon..

PI’m no expert by any manner of means, I run MPS4S on my present Mustang, I’ve used MPSS on both my 370’s, GT and Nismo, as well as the Mustang. i Don’t think you can get them any more but I ran Ultrac Sessanta (Vredstein) on the GT as well. The Nismo came with Bridgestones IIRC but in any case I only ever used Bridgestones on my RX8, they were superb (REO55), many haters off them on here tho, but my experience on track, multiple alpine passes, Euro roadtrips was a good one. Still an expensive tyre. Bear in mind, no matter the tyre, if you don’t drive to the conditions, even Lewis Hamilton will end up backwards in a hedge, I think that’s the key with any choice As to pro’s/cons to a wider set up, playing about with ratio or width won’t do much harm if it’s minor, example, going from a 275 to a 28 or 95 width, I’ve run spacers on 370’s and Mustang, purely for stance aesthetics and with my limited ability, I’ve experienced no negative side effects

I ran MPSS for the last two years before replacing them with MPS4S @ October last year. The MPSS replaced P Zeros, which on or in a warm climate were a fantastic tyre, get close to their minimum temp range and I mean within above 7 or 8 deg and they were a danger to life! The MPSS performed superbly, again in dry/warmer temps and were only marginally better than the P Zeros but there was a significant improvement over the P Zeros in colder, damper weather. The MPS4S are no doubt a great summer tyre (not ran them in the summer yet), but over the winter that’s just past they’ve only just very slightly been better over what I felt with the P Zeros, not a great improvement at all. i know they’re all primarily summer tyres but when the question is “ wallet friendly” who can afford two sets of wheels with summer and winter tyres? I think there’s probably better, cheaper all rounders out there that don’t suffer the catastrophic fall off of P Zeros and or the MPS4S. unfortunately when you’re talking 19” with the type of width and profile that the 350/370 requires, none of them are that ‘wallet friendly’ for this category. Just my most recent experience, I’m no tyre guru.....

It’s the only way to go very nice car Doogy. As I’m well aware, not the fastest toy out the box but a lovely place to be and I can only imagine what nice roads this’ll see in the spring - autumn in Canada. precisely what I’ve said all along re the Mustang with regards to ‘driving should be an event and an experience’, nearly six years in with mine and and it still is, even on a cold damp winters night after a long late shift. There were many detractors back in 2016. Mach1 is a big improvement by all accounts (I’ve not driven one), and I had a wee look at a cancelled order the other day, £57k, I’d imagine yours would be that but in dollars you lucky man! Jealous of the Tremac, but my old Chinese gearbox is still happily trundling along Have fun

Och, wee Lewis got a nice badge from her Maj, nice day oot for his mum. Poor wee Max gets some Lewis fanboy hate forever

Perez did a great job all season, great partnership, where both understand the principle of a ‘principle’ driver. Hope it’s Russell giving Max some real competition next year. The King is dead, long live the King, and to survive, F1 need to crack the US, combative racing is what’s going to do it not whiney sullen fans and drivers.

Well done Max, great to get it right up Sky F1’s utterly biased commentary all season.

Oi! Ma Mrs resembles that remark! (except the poverty spec bit )

When Your Pension Pot is Imminent (sort of) (Porsche Content, Mibees)
The G Man replied to The G Man's topic in Other Cars
Probably 4WD Dan, and I would like a modern interior. Would I have to raise my budget? That’s not out the question, would also like it to be current, I’ll have a look at the numbers you suggest. On the depreciation, I’m thinking on my side, as in what’s the drop off from new to nearly new, todays market is very unpredictable. needs to be special, needs to be modern, would like it sub £100k. I’ll take that on board Dan, re driving one, would ideally, on a near £100k car want an extended test drive, off to Braehead on Monday -
When Your Pension Pot is Imminent (sort of) (Porsche Content, Mibees)
The G Man replied to The G Man's topic in Other Cars
Jesus Christ, £225k! Lovely looking car but ma pension pot wouldn’t look at that, well the kitchen would need to wait -
I’m pretty sure there are a whole range of people on here that are in a much more beneficial position than myself, with regards a large pension pots and lump sums. Im also sure that there are a number of Porsche current and former owners who know their sh1t! So, over the past few years I’ve been tempted by all sorts of stuff. With that in mind, in the not too distant future, as well as financing myself relatively comfortably with a relatively good income and some sound investments in my 42yr working life, when I retire, I’ve come to the conclusion that I want a very, very special car, before I shuffle off this mortal coil. This will be a Porsche 911 There are a few ‘caveats’ with my Porsche needs, set out below: 1. Nearly new with less than 3 or 4K miles on it (I’m open to advice on depreciation, if there is any?, solid facts on this please) 2. Needs to be a 911 3. Budget £80-90k (maybe more) 4. NOT track focused, comfortable, high optioned (adjustable suspension, seats, things like programmable keys, adaptive cruise (?), heated and cooled (?) seats, fully electric everything in fact. Proper GT. 5. Nothing garish, no neon pee pee colours, no ‘decal’ type sh1t that tells others and me what I already know. 6. NOT convertible, solid roof, none of this wibbly wobbly chassis pish. 7. Capable of not embarrassing my 9 year old granddaughter, but capable of making my two 5yr old grandsons the proudest wee boys in school when they get dropped off. 8. At a push can, I could increase budget 9. I have no idea, other than I want one, what they are like to drive, enlighten me. 10. Must compliment our imminent M340D Touring

Living extremely north of the “liberal elite”, I’d rather not have any propulsion than run one of them Wonder where the V8 petrol beemer sits in the “liberal elite” London still you n Dan can walk together tae the bus stop Get an Aygo

Don’t rule out a 335d either

+1 on that, an awesome vehicle in every way. Bonus is that normal sized adults or huge 9 year olds fit in the rear seats no probs One of the best cars I’ve ever driven

Bring me one back and I’ll tell ye I would imagine that you’d pay tax on the new price for starters as well as tax on every other aspect of importing, mostly made up percentages. sorry can’t help and I envy your position but I’m guessing your biggest problem will be support in getting it re-mapped (?) if that’s the right word to not talk and operate in Japanese, considering how new these are. Unless of course, there’s massive import demand. Emissions ? I guess that’s why it won’t be available in the UK

If it ever did come to the U.K. (moanty fck brexit ), I’d add one of them to my drive

Mine was 0075, be interested if anyone on here had it, 2013 Pearl White, traded it in April 2016. SN63 AAV

Chris Harris Says “All The Car You’ll Ever Need”
The G Man replied to The G Man's topic in Other Cars
Cheers Dan . Practicality in a small/medium estate was the priority, to be honest all beemers look the same to me , but that statement by Chris Harris a year or so back stuck in my mind and the Mazda, terrific little hatchback, wasn’t going to cut the mustard on our ‘newest’ dog adventure. Lockdown and all the difficulties along with it has, I suspect, changed a lot of folks perspectives, certainly mine. Packed full of tech (well enough for my Luddite mind) and, roomy in the rear for grandkids and an elderly dog, coupled with a more than useful boot for two young terriers, with room to spare, will suit our revised lifestyle. Things I miss from the Mazda, memory seats aligned to each key, which made life easier when getting in the car after wifie, radar cruise control, fantastic on boring, long motorway/roadwork journeys, HUD, which was pretty trick in the Mazda. Big euro trips are off the cards for a while and the Stang would still be first choice on that (minus dogs of course), staycations (I’m now a ‘mercan’), feature more prominently now for us. First Auto we’ve ever had as a family, I had an old Volvo 144 DL back in the day with a column shift auto box, no incidents so far and wifie is loving it after her initial fears of an auto box. Onwards and upwards, let the adventures begin! (again ) -
New Mazda 3 is gone, to be replaced with the new pup mobile (following on from ‘Fran & Anna’ reveal in the pet thread) BMW 3 Series Touring, M Sport X drive (and no, The Muzzer stays, it’s a car thang!) couple of jobbyish pics, but you’ve all seen them before!

Today, near Galston, I was heading eastbound after the best fish supper at the Wee Hurry, in my Stang. Stunning colour and paintwork, but jeezo, that looked an uncomfortable ride
