It's hilarious, someone hit the nail on the head ^^ there, Americans, on the whole, thought this was a game show Just like the way the British electorate are heading. One thing that the Americans have over the UK, at least they got to vote as to who was president, in a peculiar way, a few dozen MPs decided who our PM is. I know, I know, Gordon Brown and the conlabourites did the same, at least you know who you're going to get in America if something happens to the president. I can't wait for the wall to be built, the muslims to be stopped entering, the opposition leader being locked up, the immigrants shipped back to 'their' own country, the generals to be sacked if they don't kick some foreign terrorist groups a4se, I never thought that Brexit voters, sorry the US electorate could be so dimwitted 'Make America Great, Again', has a certain ring in our parallel universe. Back to cars, hope the $ tanks, get back on course with my modding plans

If we hear of another, I'll PM you

Some things are more important than a mere car (however mega it's perceived to be), life's too short, get yourself sorted, then get back in the game. A new car will take care of itself. Best of luck, hope the pain of it all clears soon Oh and GLWTS
-
Undoubtedly going to get cheaper, as any second hand car, however, they are a performance bargain, right now!
-
Nice one Jimmy Here's another from the same meet, just some noise really
-
That is surprising! Supercar performance, supercar bills!, not so surprising though. Yet most owners on here would claim running costs to be 'reasonable'. So what causes this eye watering average cost of repair, if as it seems, most things score high on reliability!?!? When I attended the GTR/370 Nismo meet arranged by Nobles of Edinburgh a few years back, the biggest complaint from GTR owners was the service costs, especially the P2 (£800 if IRC) and P3. I would expect this for any 'super car', but maybe not a Nissan 'super car'. Lots of German cars with 3 Porsche variants, think the Boxter is well reported on but the 911, that was a surprise, to me at least.

You've got the car to do it in , for the most part everyone on here has got the car to do it in. Western European roads are a treat, even the back roads are mostly smooth as silk. It was night and day when we got back in the UK and came back across the A69 on our way home. We need major infrastructure investment in this country. Anyway, if you do it, take a big bag of money Battle scars add to the character, we have no real idea how it happened, its small and the paint isn't broken, I'll look at a smart repair of some kind once I've got my head round going back to work . I get what you're saying re the wheels, I loved the dark grey of the Nismo wheels, but I've no plans to change them or the colour.

After a fantastic trip, ate and drank like kings and queens, saw some of the most awe inspiring scenery and sights so far, in any of my adventures in Europe. 2250 miles, 7 fill ups, probably around £4K in total spent, at least a stone heavier (I've always wanted to be as big as a prop), some great hotels, poignant moments (Mook WW2 cemetery just outside Nijmegen, one of the graves a Private Lover, 19 years old, probably only knew fighting before he could be a lover ), generous, courteous people in all of the countries we visited. Muzzer has a few war wounds, small pea size dent in the bonnet, stone chips etc, more brake dust on a set of wheels than I've ever seen, front caked in insects, 23deg in Italy, wine to die for, pizza to die for, Bratwurst to die for, Weiner Schnitzel to die for, Apple Stroodle to die for, great beer, fantastic roads. Got the opportunity to do 145mph+ for relatively long stretches (was still overtaken by what seemed every Merc/BMW/Audi , well not quite). Completely knackered, what a holiday. Mrs loved the comfort of the Muzzer, I loved the comfort of the Muzzer, smooth as butter at speed, well behaved and capable on the mountain passes, sat nag - once I got to grips with it, was impeccable (we had real difficulty escaping Luxembourg, the country, not the city ), mpg , all in all a proper GT. Looking pleased with itself at Ijmuiden
-
It does not bad for a V6 3.7. I particularly enjoyed the bigger tank, could get 400 miles from it, on a very odd occasion Getting 350+ in the Muzzer, just did 2250 miles over on the continent, not quite counted it up yet, but I'm still on my 7th fill up, smaller tank though. Just goes to show that these big cars aren't as poor on fuel consumption as is perceived. Most of my trip was through Germany and return through Germany, so some of the speeds, on average, well exceeded U.K. limits. Long stretches at 100mph+

After the mention from Ekona re MPS4, found this little article in a post on another forum, http://blog.caranddriver.com/michelin-launches-new-king-of-all-tires-the-pilot-sport-4-s/ Looks like it'll not be available until early 2017??

To help the OP on this thread I was attempting to balance out opinions being expressed and this post below of yours G Man is quite helpful in that it lists many of the pros of 370 ownership but highlights the road noise as well as your misses not enjoying the ride as "issues". My misses was very comfortable in the 370, apart sometimes from when I was, er, testing out the car's dynamics on the twisties . Posted 02 May 2016 - 18:07 I've had two 370s, one a GT and one a Mk1 Nismo. What a lot of people don't realise on here with regards to the Mk1, is the suspension set up. Superior in every way to the GT, a different class over a 350. I did some basic suspension mods to my GT, a set of Eibach Pro's, had an Akropovic Evo true dual exhaust, was UpRevved, but the Nismo would smash it all day long on twisties, fact. (Ask Gstraw on here, he couldn't believe it when I gave him a cabbie, he has a 370 GT) You will get a lot of negative opinion about a Nismo on here, from some that have never even driven one, never mind owned one. The servicing on a 370 is inexpensive. As a track car, I've no idea, but if it's mostly for track, get a stripped out MX 5 like Ekona has, you'll have more fun. As Ebized has said, as for a fast, fun and well equipped GT, it's in a good price bracket. One or two things about a 370, the road noise is pretty bad, not enough steering wheel adjustment (only up or down, no in or out) and my Mrs always complained that, as a passenger, it wasn't the most comfortable of, erm, rides It is a looker, gets loads of compliments and attention and the equipment level is very good. I've no real idea on a Porsche or TT RS, no doubt very capable cars, for me, now a 'redneck', they both have an image problem in my eyes. The Audi, because the company that produces them are cheating bast3rds, and the Porsche, if not the right one, is a wannabe statement. You won't wring a lot of extra oomph from a 370 without spending serious cash and going FI, but as was mentioned, unless you're getting one really cheap, it might be the wrong car if you require that level of power. Anyway, good luck in your search, buy one off a club member, it'll be looked after and not at a dealer premium. Edited by The G Man, 02 May 2016 - 18:09. OK, hands up to being defensive about the qualities of the 370 - my only issue about the car at the end being the absence of 4 seats. For me it has been the best car I have owned/enjoyed and that includes the present car that so many driver aids it kinda takes away from the nut behind the wheel. That is why I still follow the forum regularly and try to help those interested in making a 370 purchase Thanks for the justification, just what I've advocated in this thread. We have tyre roar in a 370 All else is relatively good . Nothing less than I've stipulated,

It's an ugly MoFo, and probably won't work on UK roads

24hr quad bike safari, bit of camping, bit of bonding, bit of drinking, bit of effort

That's not a bad deal, year and a bit of manufacturers warranty, you don't need any approval here. It's bullet proof on the engine and gearbox, so if you want it, get it. There are peeps on here who would advocate an F Type/Cayman/2nd hand GTR for that price, dreamers, the lot of them Went through this when I spent 35k on a Nismo Mk1, even when I spent 35k on a brand new V8 (albeit a Ford ), 'big mistake, get this, get that', complete bollocks. Get what you want, seems reasonable

How's this one Will
-
Yeah, have a poll I had no issue, other than it has tyre roar, what's the issue there? What other posts are you on about? I had 51/2 great years of 370 ownership, stuck up for the 370, through thick and thin and was met by a fair amount of abuse for doing so, even some mild schoolboy internet attempts at bullying What I sense from your post, is a defensive stance, that any owner would take about owning their present or past cars. Get a motorbike, you'd love it I'm too old as well

MPS4? Not put them in the equation, and to be honest I don't know anything about them at the mo, will have a look though Are they particularly soft as in getting low mileage out of them? I am interested in an all weather tyre, but at the back of my head I'm thinking too much of a compromise? Don't worry about the stalking, I'm not allowed (self administered) a Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat/ account, too many people would end up wanting to stab me in the face

Erm, no your not quite correct there. AFAIK, there hasn't been a single TOC had the franchise taken away from them, there's been a couple that have walked away (East Coast, which was taken back under, effectively state control, started making a profit and then was handed over to Virgin). On a 12 coach train, you just can't see the back of the set, no matter how many monitors you put in, put in poor light/weather, curvature of the line and it gets worse. Virgin have two guards and local station dispatch staff to monitor door opening and closing and their biggest sets are 11 coaches. It's the thin edge of the wedge to take away responsibility from guards, on longer sets. There are DOO trains all over the network, all on shorter trains (except the Stanstead Express, which is a shockingly long train). Drivers make mistakes, they're only human, 9 1/2 hours into a 10 hour shift from 0500, sometimes earlier, in the morning and there's a fair bit of fatigue there. The public are under the misconception that a driver just jumps in a seat and presses a button and a train goes and stops automatically, on the mainline, this just isn't the case. The decisions and concentration that's required from even the shortest journeys are immense, when to brake, what aspect of signal, curvature of the line, gradient, PWay workers, permanent, temporary and emergency speed restrictions, rail adhesion, set braking characteristics, platform length, passengers too close to the platform edge, stopping place, size of set, which side to open the doors, I could go on and on and on. Add into this, more safety responsibility that you, ultimately are not happy about and it's you that will go to jail, not the TOC execs, if a tragedy takes place. If this one aspect of that safety net is taken away, guards, what aspect is next? Shorter breaks for drivers?, the longest PNB is 45 mins depending on shift pattern, 20 mins minimum break, which doesn't have to be given until 5 3/4 hours of driving? Trust me, the public might not know that they need these people, but we in the industry do. It wouldn't matter who is in government, Ghengis Khan for all it matters, the TOCs are still going to put profit before safety which will inherently produce conflict, which will impact on the punter. Rail staff don't want that, they need TOCs to be onside, phew! Took me ages to write that, still a bit Shakey from eating and drinking all day yesterday:lol:

It's a fact based on my opinion
-
You should've got a motorbike then Despite getting your life story there, the 370 has tyre roar that will make anyone below petrolheadidness greatness, deaf, on a long run. I've said that its great on hooning around town and country lanes, where tyre roar/drone doesn't come into it. On a Grand Tourer (GT), it does get tedious on long Mway drives, I'm not talking from no experience here, this is a fact
-
You're probably deaf anyway Colin The drone is secondary to tyre roar, that's a fact. I probably did 100+ X 300mile + journeys between both 370's, they must've had a fault

Hang on a cotton picking minute Are we really blaming some back bench MP, that just happened to be in the right place at the wrong time for Southern Rail's strikes?!? This is an ongoing, deeply ingrained dispute, that's got FU£K all to do with politics, it's about tax dodging, benefit scrounging, train operating companies, (TOCs), trying to shave 20 or 30 seconds off an already crowded rail network timetable at the expense of passenger safety, which they don't give a Fook about, to receive more state handouts. If you research BR efficiency against privatisation efficiency, guess what, BR was the golden age of rail, honestly, go search on time trains, rolling stock on the rails, staff satisfaction. The guard is there for many different functions, one of which is a double check that the WHOLE train is on the platform, secondly, the doors are not opened on the WRONG side, causing carnage, thirdly, if there is an incident on the line, he is PTS trained and can actually go on track to place track circuit clips to stop oncoming traffic piling into a derailed train, that's just a few instances where guards are invaluable. Feck all to do with Corbyn, more to do with TOCs increasing profits for investors to the cost off passenger safety. The 300 odd jobs may seem insignificant to the ordinary man in the street, but to an industry, they are crucial. Strikers should be shot!! Just recognise that there are industries where the workers do care, remember, this dispute is not about money, Fook me, train drivers could bring the country to a standstill in minutes if it was about money. Apologies for the perceived rant, I work in this industry now and Joe Public has no conception of what is going on, only what is fed to them through a biased media.

That's a sore one my friend, I can't even bare to take any of my two to the vets, for even the most basic procedures ( I do though) RIP Monty
