  1. For track use, and I’m no expert, I’d expect that the bedding in procedure is more important, different dynamics required by different driving style. I can’t help but think for street use, hundreds of thousands of cars have brake pads and or discs replaced every year for MOT or maintenance purposes and work perfectly well, on that, I’ve never had any real advice from a garage to do any set procedure. Most of these will just be OEM like for like. A lot will depend, I suppose on the complexity of compounds etc. I’ve got a set of StopTech discs and pads (street pads), ready to go on my Mustang, StopTech’s own instructions are quite involved re bedding in, which I will follow as much as is possible. Sometimes manufacturers recommended bedding in procedure is nigh on impossible on everyday roads. im happy to follow manufacturer procedures and or, ‘expert’ considered advice from suitably experienced individuals.
  2. Did you think of any form of hydraulic lift? Looks amazing and what a great job
  3. It’s a bit of an ugly burd, maybe just as well it’s for track only. Good job the wheel colour will make no difference
  4. I got 24.5k on a trade in, sold the extras (Ark GRiP (to Girjeet, who now claims its worth £1700 ), Nismo Knob (he sold that for double what he paid me ) GTR starter button and spare Plenum cover) which netted me 26.5k, 8.5k later I had a 5.0 Mustang GT Premium Pack I advertised it on here for 24.5k (IIRC) with all the extras, so was pleased at what I got.
  5. It was mine, moved on to a Mustang, but I should’ve kept this as well. My Mrs would like to have it back (still keep the Stang as well)
  6. Have a look out for this one. Although whoever has it might have removed the Nismo decals
  7. 3, white, grey and black iirc, all metallic (pearlescent). No clue to how many but very rare. In 2 1/2 years I never saw another one in the flesh.
  8. Make it money you want to borrow
  9. It’s been a great read, I wish I had half of your ability that has brung this car back with a new lease of life, not to mention the space to do it in
  10. Not sure the Mk1 came with an auto , worth checking, if it’s an auto you want I think beemers take a lot of beating
  11. Congratulations, if she does arrive on time, you’ll have your own Remembrance Day life will change immeasurably, sometimes for the good, sometimes not so good. you will be poorer, but richer
  12. Picked the latest runabout/grandkids ferry/ dogs tae the park/beach motor on Friday. Few quick shots, I’ve not had anytime to myself over the weekend to give it a good detail. Mazda 3 2.0GT Skyactive G (?). Snowflake pearlescent metallic white and an massive array of electronic gizmo’s/settings. Anyway, few pics......
  13. I think you should take your partners attitude, with continuity of employment and a better wage, there is no increase in any risk IMO. Isn’t Sarnie a property/mortgage agent type? PM him and discuss it offline. Personally i would plough on.
  14. Yeah, I understood that. Buying in Oz and shipping yourself is probably much cheaper than buying through a UK distributor. my point was, here’s something for your car in the U.K., from your son in Oz from an Oz company
  15. Something from Pedders? https://www.pedders.com.au/catalogue/all/nissan/350z/ DBA’s, adjustable coilovers, Pedders has a good name and VFM reputation and it’s based in Australia
  16. One like this? Can’t remember if it was off the front or back, GT or Nismo
  17. I liked the last series of TGT, particularly good because it’s broadcast in 4K, some of the locations were simply stunning. i also agree with Ponsonby, Clarkson looks like death warmed up
  18. You might get a response in the right section.......
  19. Ditto, me n the ither half had a few laugh out loud moments last week and this week, I think the last time that happened was the US special years ago when Clarkson came back with a dead cow on the roof.
  20. Isle of Gigha is another, small, but beautiful little island for an overnight, short ferry ride for a few quid, it’s even got palm trees on it. Achamore Gardens is stunning.
  21. Have done that route a few times . Folks tend to head north in Skye and circumnavigate back across the bridge, the route to Armadale for the ferry to Mallaig is the fastest A road I’ve been on in my ‘Stang and once in Mallaig, the A830 is THE best road in Scotland in my humble opinion Defo gies a shout, we’re a wee bit bonkers but good bonkers and a very, very exclusive wee club
  22. You might want to consider Islay, beautiful beaches and the finest distilleries in all of Christendom. Port Charlotte is a particular favourite of ours. The drive from Glasgow, past Loch Lomond, Rest and Be Thankfull, round to Inveraray and onward to Tarbert and then Kennacraig for the ferry is an amazing road, one of the best in the UK. if you fancy, carry on down to Campbeltown and it gets better, just round the peninsula is Southend and Machrihanish, wildest beaches bar those in Sutherland, camping galore!
