  1. +1 on that. just had the Akra fitted, going back later to pick up my stock exhaust and put it in my garage. Unless you have cash to burn (you can give me some ), then store it
  2. Fech me Martin You are bored aren't you (I remember them all )
  3. Vid probably doesn't do it justice, should sound nice on the track
  4. Just a tad too far for this wee jobby, not to say I won't use his services in the future Gotta try and fit it all in the Z, 5miles with all that rattling about inside will be traumatic enough She's gonna get it when fitted
  5. Cheers folks Who's your first choice then? just for future reference
  6. I know chippy has a thread on one of these, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to post some piccies of the fitting. It's being done at a place called the Garage in Motherwell. They specialise in Skylines and a few other Jap cars. Spoke to the boss Mark today and he seems a very nice bloke, we're gonna have a good old chat while it's being fitted, he seemed to understand that I didn't want to wait till next week to have it fitted , "Are you gaggin to have it fitted", me "Yeah", him "Bring it in, in the morning and we'll put it on a ramp first thing" Bit excited now
  7. One of my daughters and I went to look at them when she first passed her nursing training, the dealer, Arnold Clark in Springburn Glasgow, or rather the salesman was a knob, wouldn't even give her a trade in price on her 3 yr old Aygo (great car and not much smaller than the Fiat, probably too small for your needs though), anyways she disregarded it after the dealer experience being sh1te and plumped for a Mini Cooper S instead. This is a different class, build, power, gizmos, you name it. I felt there was too much metal exposed in the Fiat and it is very cramped. I realise that there is a price difference here, but you can pick up a nearly new Mini One with the TLC pack (4 years free servicing) and they're relatively bullet proof, stylish and the ladies do like them.
  8. I got three from Rich, two small and one large, I had a thought only today as I've not put them on yet, I was going to put the small ones on the rear quarters and the larger one under my rear number plate, just checked them and they're all for the inside Oh well back to the drawing board
  9. Here's Lexx's old 350 (well part of it) with his wishes being written. It was on a ferry a few days before and he was made to keep that on until back in the UK
  10. +1 they are holding prices very well. When the missus wanted a new car, we test drove the new shape and it was great, and I had an old shape FR (1.8T) so knew they were good inside and out. But looking at prices, for one only a few years old it was north of £10k. In the end we got a little Ibiza 1.4 which returns ok fuel consuption and obviously no where near the power, but it was a lot cheaper for a brand new car with warranty etc. I'm seriously considering a TDi Leon in the future for a "shed". Good news then for my Mrs FR, won't be sold anytime soon only 40k on an 05 plate, great wee car, a bloke at work is selling an 05 plate yellow with the Cupra kit for £5.5k, so that's where I based my guesstimate Mrs had a new Ibiza 1.4 as a courtesy car on a recent service and I swear I thought she was going to buy one, she loved it The 150PS FR from 05 had the later Golf TDi engine a year earlier, apparantly, ok the aesthetics on the inside of the Leon may not be of the same quality as the Golf, but essentially they're the same car.
  11. My bad mate, I should have made it clearer the Eagles Nest I'm on about is in France, here's a link http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe ... 104966.htm, it's in th Alpes Cote dAzur, in the south
  12. Next time I'm heading off to Europe via Plymouth I'll drop by Have a great trip, and watch out for the French rozzers, the rural ones are ok and can be quite curious, the motorway ones are after your money via speed traps. The Millau Bridge has a great visitor centre and is worth an hour to mooch around and get photo's, there's one either side of the bridge Here's another piccieor two, one of us three fat barstewards in a little village in the valley at Millau. And a couple in the Alps, BTW all the stickers were mostly from that years, 2009, Le Mans trip, and of course my old RX8, Again have a safe and enjoyable trip
  13. We've the same as GT4 Zed, you can also adjust the water temp for the radiators, winter setting, and the hot water but no need unless you want to be boiled alive. Great hot water pressure and yes the wireless control is

  18. Ok, a MUST DO road is the one that goes round the Gorge du Verdun (Clarkson raced the freestyle climbers in the RS4 here) to Castellane, thn onto the Route Napoleon south to Monaco, another detour on that route is to a place called Gourdon, lunch in the Eagles Nest was the best on our three week tour last year. We also went up to Stelvio from Lake Como, very busy with bikes and quite a tiring drive. More piccies You can just make out the road on the north side of the gorge, the southern road is just as good but higher Mate I could write a book on our last two years tours, Spain has the best coffee , France the best roads and wine and food, Italy has the most stylish lake drives and ALL THE ALPS are fechin scary Chamonix (again spelling ) is another great stop off, oh I couldf go on and on, but I think I'll just plan one for this year
  19. Torque eats front tyres on them though. Stop being so heavy footed then They are also ripe for re-mapping for some blistering performance, you could probably pick up an old shape one (far prettier) for around 4-5k on a 05/55 plate, just make sure the timing belt has been changed
  20. Done a few Euro trips, Pamplona was a dissapointment but will surely be better or more exciting running with the Bulls. Once you've got the Millau bridge out your system, drop down into the gorges heading east, can't remember the name offhand but simply stunning scenery and driving. Montreaux, nightmare to park and very busy with traffic, there's a nice little market right on the lakeside that's a good place for a coffee, it'll take you at least 2 hours to get in, parked and have a coffee though! We headed from there up to Cologne, through Heidleburgh (sp?), 7 hours of torturous motorway driving that was very, very busy the whole way, wasn't even a Friday either, so pick your route north carefully. Nearly forgot, when leaving Pamplona, head for Ainsa, brilliant driving road, we cut up into France about 30/40miles from there and went round Toulouse to Millau. Bridge was @ 16 Euros one way!!! We did it three times , oh and avoid the Mont Blanc Tunnel when heading up through the Alps, that was 38 Euros one way!!!!! Here's a wee piccy or two
