Ive been youing Meguiars since buying my Z a couple of months ago. This included the purchase of a duel orbiter sander, swirl X, paint cleaner, polish and carnauba wax. you will never look back. some Pics here.
Good to hear i'm not the only cop that frequents McD's.
Do you know of any the Z members who are in the Job. It would be nice to have a triple 9 thread
The only way that your NCB will be affected is if the insurance Co consider that you were in some way a contributing factor. It would be very difficult to see how this may be if you are stationary and on a down ward facing incline.
Dont worry contact you insurance Co for advice before claiming if you are that worried.
I have now seen the photos and it clearly shows damage to the bumper even in the rain. He has no defence, siting he didnt know there had been any accident or damage caused because he had alight his vehcle and said the coments as stated.
On your accident report clearly state that you was stationary and that the only way the other driver could have hit you was that he was driving with out due care and attention and that his driving therefore fell below that of a competent driver.
You have now done the right thing and reported it. It will be for him to satify any enquiries why he didnt think there was any damage.
Your earlier post stated that you took photos of the damage at the time. From a evidence point of view do the photos have a time and date on them and does it show the dmage IE any scuff marks or paint residue from the offending car.
Firstly before even contemplating making a claim Have you reported this to the police? The insurance company will only ask. You have a duty to report the accident to the police if any of the following apply.
Owing to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle on a raod or any other public place and accident occurs by which, Damage is caused to another vehicle other than that vehicle or trailer. The driver must stop and report it and if so required to do by any person having reasonable grounds for requiring it. Give there name and address, the owners name and address and regisration number of the vehicle.
The above is required and if anyone fails to do so at the time they must do so at a police station or police officer as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case within 24 hours.
There is a specific offence under sec 140(4) RTA 1988 where it is an offence for a driver of a mechanically propelled vehicle to fail to report to accident to the police if they fail to give their name and address.
So if the T xxxxx er hasnt done any of the above and you are still contemplating an insurance claim cover your back.
Hi all.
Like many of the members if have met i have jumped on the band wagon and decided to polish the Plenum chamber on my z not for any reason other than i think it looks great.
I have started the work myself and have nearly completed the main top surface to its rough stage and its looking ok.
It is now time to tackle the sides and more intricate areas. Does anyone have any knowledge on what are the best tools to use to tackle this and any metal polishers in the Chesterfield, Sheffield area.
Many thanks Rothers2901
Does anyone who has hed their plenum powder coated advise me on whether you need to polish the plenum before powder coat or does powder coating fill all the rough cast leaving it smooth. Also any problems with the heat or paint flaking.
Thanks Rothers2901
