Been to Mallory today. It's been the Classic car and Super Saloon car meeting. Brought back some great memories from the 80's when you could squeeze 6 & 7 litre engines into a Vw or a Imp. Harsh very harsh. I'll do some digging tomorrow and see how this stands with displaying a vehicle reistration plate to the front. For some reason i think it has to be in a place in which it can be clearly read.

I've since cleaned it and painted it Black. As with nearly all used back boxes the locating lugs have had to be drill out. The picture doesn't show the flange area.

Perfectly fine. I can take some pics and PM them if you want.

I have a used back box in very good condition. It's off an 05 plate with 26k.

Most definately the one i would have if not a Z.

Thanks to all who had a hand in organising this years event. Camping Friday night was an experience to say the least, thanks to Martin Mac for giving a hand in putting up the tent Liz wasnt too happy though when she found out having been left to put up their tent on her own . Martin's twisted ankle, too much i think. Some lovely cars on show from all eras. just waiting for photobucket to upload.

That statements just knocked about thirty minutes off my journey. But seriously. hope you make it mate. Pretty much anyone travelling tomorrow which doesnt include travelling through any major city will save 30 mins. On the other hand if you have to drive through a major city you could be excused for saving 45 mins

Toutch and go at the moment, PM and Home Secretary has tried to imposed a leave embargo due to national problems . Here hoping it quietens down tonight.

Been doing a bit of moding in the engine bay getting it ready for the weekend. Polished nuts, bolts and a bit of gloss painting. The last item to be finished was the engine brace. Painted and lacquered, then resisted the urge to fit straight away and left for a couple of days to go off. Been today to check on the oil levels and found 2 large scratches on the top edge of the brace . I was so careful when refitting the brace not to damage it i was left stumped as to how it could have happend. Then found the offending little bliter a small rubber vibration protector on the underside of the bonnet. No time to re-do for the weekend now so will have to do.

Dont worry, there will be plenty of buckets, soap and cloths to use. But be warned if too clean there may be a bucket of mud about
