  1. It does look good but that is not Rothers' car ... it's just a picture of a car with a roof spoiler that Rothers posted ... Rothers' car has a veilside spoiler Hopefully he'll come along in a minute and confirm but I think he took his Veilside spoiler off (and sold it on here, too, iirc) +1 on the comments on the look of the car - I think it's Rothers car and the depth of shine on it has to be seen to be believed The picture was off the internet as an example of a Z with a roof spoiler. I've made a few changes in the past months the Veilside has gone and a V1 from Alex mounted and black Rays. Today saw the arrival of a replica N1 from RT-Performance. Im am currently compiling a guide on how to fit it yourself Thread to follow. The below is of how the Z stands at the moment. Still polishing it
  2. I only use the snow foam when i want to remove all of the wax and polish before a full detail. I was told when buying the foam it wouldnt remove any of the waxes as it was polish and wax friendly but found it not to be the case. My advice is once you have used snow foam re-wax again.
  3. And another http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-NISMO- ... 337b458d78
  4. Just my luck. Been waiting for ages for one of these to come along. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nismo-GENUINE ... 4d04174029
  5. Washer jets for the headlamps. Pointless really as all they do is squirt water, and what use is that in England, all you need to do is drive out and it'll rain anyway. Daft if you ask me. Looks nice Rothers, who's spraying it for you? Hi Ian. Not sure who will be doing the spraying yet i have yet to do some research. The first thing is to check the fit. I'm assured that it needs no fitting adjustment but that remains to be seen. The fit will determine where it goes i suppose.
  6. Been a while now deciding which way to go. Couldnt be bothered to adapt a V2 to meet the new MOT requierments for the washer units so opted for this one from RT-Performance.

    New Pics

The V2 looks particularly nice where did you source it from and what was th fit like?
  8. I'm 6-2 and dont have any issues at all. I dont know what your driving style is but you could sit a little more upright instead of in a laid back position this will reduce your arm distance.
  9. I think i may have found my answer. Splicing. Two options. The socket in the fascia has two wires running to it. You need to attach two new wires to these and then to the new socket. Make sure you get the polarity correct! If you have any doubt about this then get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you. 1. Cut the existing cable in two, strip, tin and solder then heatshrink to insulate each cable. or 2. One of those blue crimpy cable joining thingys from Halfords. (sorry, don't know what they are called.). I always solder my connections 1 but if you can't solder then option 2. For socket (15amp): http://www.maplin.co.uk/car-accessory-socket-1055 x 1 For cable (15amp): http://www.maplin.co.uk/twin-power-cabl ... code=XS72P length to suit. For crimps: http://www.maplin.co.uk/snap-lock-autom ... ctors-1073 x 2 The crimps are only 3amp rated. Do you know how much current the tomtom charger takes? If more then these are not suitable.
  10. I have an outdated Birdview 5.1 system and there are no update versions available. So i have decided to fit a Tomtom sat nav instead. My intention is to remove the the original screen and wire it to the existing cigarette socket in the passenger footwell via a second socket. Not being an electrician can someone answer me a couple of questions. 1. Can i just splice the original wiring to the new socket? and run two sockets off the one feed? 2. If so, would there be any sort of power drain from the Tomtom when the Tomtom and ignition are switched off? Thanks Rothers
  11. Frirstly a thanks to the organisers for taking the time and effort to plan and arrage the weekend. These events just dont just happen as anyone who has arranged a meeting will attest. The event this year was very poorly supported the general conversational statement was the same from all attendees " They said they were coming". In my opinion I doubt very much that this event will take place next year. It's just not viable for the organisers to put out the original outlay in a hope that people turn up to recoupe to costs so avoiding a loss. It was said that the issue would be raised at the organisers AGM. A word of warning if you ever get invited to the Nottingham off roading centre (£30 for some 15 minutes not that my body could have taken any more). Make sure your in good shape and your fillings ar securely in. Rough is an understatment, How the vehicles cope with the terrain i'll never know. A visit to Amen Corner Karting would have been a better option. Anyway min rant over. The weekend itself was great. The weather for once was favourable, some nice cars and great company to boot. Speed cameras get every where
  12. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2425512.htm Their having a laugh The below was taken straight from the Ford Rs 500 buyers guide. UK price guide (Sterling) Note: The RS500 is a rare classic vehicle and hence the prices reflect this. Potential buyers would be lucky to find a good example available for less than £24000 Sterling! As with many classic vehicles over time they are prone to accident damage and some may have been re-shelled if so please consider a body shell is a serviceable part and nothing more ,there may be a small reduction percentage in value but the difference is not huge in our opinion as the vehicles get older . Condition Average = £ 19500 - £ 25000 Good = £ 25001 - £ 33000 Excellent = £ 33001 - £42000
  13. Been on a Road safety awareness day today with the Road policing unit. Specifically Drink/Drug driving. Anyway Part ot the imput was some horrific pictures of incidents and injuries sustained by inocent bystanders. I couldnt possibly post such pictures to emphasise the importance not to drink drive. But found this Picture which is quite distressing. Texas, when a drunk driver killed one person and injured 10 others when he fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into a bike race. Ps. just for those interested and are visiting the Z-Fest this weekend a Calibrated Breathaliser will be available for anyone to use.

  15. Far too fast for the conditions. It was an accident waiting to happen.
  16. I would never wash the car in the rain. Just imagine rubbing this into the paint work.
