I wouldn't say it was anything to do with the clutch, (28k) is hardly run in. It is more likely to be a fluid or slave cylinder issue. That said. I cant see what effect the engine RMP or load would put on the salve cylinder. I'd change the oil and bleed the system before doing anything else. symptoms, A per the Nissan service manual. unless you are experienced in car polishing I would stick to the orbital type polishers. It is too easy to burn the paint if too much time is spent in one spot.

Couldn't find a guide for removing the gear knob.

Sounds like cold oil in the gearbox/Diff to me.
