power for garage - project solar garage
jumping350 replied to jumping350's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I did look at piecing all those together, lights not to much of problem, its tools really when you piece all the cordless stuff together it really adds up and I have the equivalent already though corded. Plus as I do events as well so wanted something I could use for that to power a LED clock for a couple of hours max, so if I could get something that is portable would be better so would have dual use to it. -

you paying the deposit Dan? I thought the battery was bad enough the inverters are a joke, sounds like you had the one that does the job GM. Need to figure out what size battery and what size inverter I need along with what charger to use that's not extortionate and not blow myself up im buying a headtorch -

Its a pain isnt it Humpy, current tech levels are crap, we can fly in space, we can split atoms, we have a watch that you can play candy crush on, heck I even saw on the news there flying a plane round the world on solar panels (though it does take 15 months ) So why cant I turn a light on in my garage without dying of fumes or noise or having 27 batteries piled up -

it really is not that far at all, the picture makes it looks worse than it is its not actually 50 metres away its much less but thats the extension lead I have id say max 20 seconds and your there from leaving my door, literally cross the road down a small path and your there. Thanks GM looks ok but for price I think a Leisure battery may double the usage time I would get. its all very confusing and all the amps/watt/volt/ah references are just confusing me, not to mention the inverter seems to be more expensive than the battery -

hmmm tell me more about these solar panels, just want something with a bloody plug socket on the end of it heres the worse sketch ever of my problem, its not quite opposite but is kinda as its really quiet cul de sac. orange line is proposed cable route and the red bit next to it is where it crosses neighbours path -

il try sort a sketch out of the locations, I was thinking about those rubber wire protector things for the road (would need a fair bit though ) I wish I could buy a house with a garage but to be honest the financial outlay and struggle to have something next to my house instead of opposite my house doesn't work out at the moment and probably wont for a good while now. I was thinking of a leisure battery and inverter, it seems like the only way at the moment, any recommendations? -

not sure if I can do that? I live in a maisonette and the garage is across the road, would they be able to run it across the road? -
having a bit of a tricky time trying to figure out how to get power for my garage, mainly to power a few strip lights and a heater/kettle/some tools from time to time in the garage. I also am in events so would need it to come with me and power a led clock for a couple of hours I was going to get this http://www.eurocarpa...75501&0&cc5_824 then read how crap it was so that's out the window, also had a generator but too loud and too much fumes so not going down that route. Would like something I can charge and use outdside, is this any better? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item339d6fe27a not very clued up on this so anyone with any experience or knowledge much appreciated I can always run a 50 metre lead across the road (cul de sac) but not sure on neighbours views on that one

unfortunately no, but as I bodged the wiring to see if it would work I know need to go back and do it properly in the next month or so, so will try get some photos for you

cant answer the bits about bumper but my fog light flashes in multiple ways so it is possible but not legal, mine has the option to turn it all off so its just a normal fog light and can make it flash when ever I want at shows or track etc via a remote. I have also rewired my reverse lights so have two lights (really proud of this mod) so answer is yes to those two questions though would stray from the flashing fog light, not sure if the bumper comes with light or is just a lens?

Thanks Brillo and Kyle R, thought as much and to top it all off, like a douche I sold the 255/40 as I thought I wouldn't need them will keep the old fronts on then till I get the right tyres for the rear to go on front.

Happy Birthday all

Just reviving this. The 19s are covered now with 275/35/19 so no problem there. With the fronts as mentioned above I would have to reduce profile to 40 though am i able to keep the 45 profile on short term whilst other stuff gets done to the car? So driving wise would it be ok? Surely the rolling radius is the same as its going from the rear tot he front? Not fussed if it looks ballooned as it will be changed to a 40 later on here is that tyre on the 18 (rear) and how it looks any help appreciated

Jumping350 Build - Reborn 17/4/2018
jumping350 replied to jumping350's topic in Member Build Projects
So here it is, wrapped in some Michelin (Ekona will like that one ) Turned out I put too much lacquer on it and dulled it too much, but close enough match Now gotta match front left to rear left and front right to rear right now or lacquer the shinier wheel Didn't realise how wide the tyres were -
rip it out and throw it in the bin (im doing that this summer) explored every avenue, better off getting tablet install, tomtom or double din
