I dont think anyone else is running my setup
19 inch GTR rear et20 275/35/19 10j
18 inch GTR fronts (which is actually the 19 inch rear GTR) 255/40/18 9.5j
im not 100% sure on the offset of the new fronts I think they are et30
thanks guys its the closest ive seen maybe a shim is the way to go as the inside rim itself is pretty close so im sure just putting 245 on it will still see it fairly close, are there any branded shims or shims that are better to use than others?
would 3mm be ok or shall i go 5mm just to be safe?
Funny thing is I was worried about brembos rubing and there is bags of room
So ive got 255 on the fronts and it looks pretty close for the tyre and the upper control arm (I think that's what it is) it free wheels fine in a straight line and on full lock and also took it round the block and couldnt hear any rubbing noises and the tyres hadnt scuffed on the trip when I came back and checked.
Question is under heavier loads will the tyre expand and rub it?? or is it enough to cause a problem? will going down to 245 solve the problem though will only buy me another 5mm on the inside or shall I add a shim??
Any input appreciated
im sure we've all done it before bud, just a lesson you have to learn. Most likely you had too much speed to wash off in time, and as a result lost traction.
But could be a number of related things including tyres and brakes
good point I have thought about that but have always felt quite confident on the pirellis on the front so just went for them, im just in test phase anyway to see if the TCS would mess up and thankfully it hasn't yet so at least I know I have the right tyre sizes front to back.
Once the main install happens (hopefully in a month or so) and its off the dyno il prob swap the fronts for the same as the rears just as you say to keep things balanced
so put the day aside for wheel fitting/testing day....its gone wrong 20 minutes in and im done
Take it this is no good
I do have a 20mm spacer hidden behind there so according to my calculations when that comes out ive ended up with correct offsets all the way round with no spacers cant get spacers off as my mate has my breaker bar so testing day over
so Rota GTR 18 rear alloys are the correct offset for the front and not the rear and the original Rota fronts are the wrong offset too
Anyhow im happy now I don't have to run any spacers and went with 275/35/19 Michelin on the rear and 255/40/18 Pirelli Pzero on the front (I like them)
I drove it in and out of the garage and the TCS didn't play up do you think il be ok?
Anyway for anyone thats interested Rota GTR 19s on the rear and 18s on the front with Concave all the way round (pictures dont do it justice and car is filthy)
yikes Cal thats a bad one ive done it many times...4th gear all the way to wales? Hope it gets better soon mate just keep the weight off it.
Looking good, glad the spoiler is playing ball now too
I use the net to watch films and some series etc and I got my mate to add me as a device on his sky go account so get all the formula 1, films and other channels to
ive got nothing to prove
that is one of my chosen views GM. im going to buy some go pro mounts though as don't trust the cheapo ones, i like the rear spoiler view aswell
As in NO FRS
Technically they are semi-correct - car works fine with stock rails and basic FRS - but it's starting to look a bit ugly. Worth spending a few more quid I think
Is there a fuel return on this
AAM basic
about the only thing basic with this build...the rest...the mind boggles! pretty interesting stuff though
I know ive got a few! initially I wanted front and rear but 2 x go pro is a lot of dollar.to shell out, so happy with what I got.
I should have front/rear/outside views now an one can go in the scooby.
I think 3 out of the 4 are 1080hd...im going to be a youtube warrior now....from multiple angles
been toying around with getting in car cameras or a go pro for a while mainly as many incidents happen on roads and for some track day fun. Havent been able to justify spending the money on one go pro so this bargain came up on ebay and now I have four no go pro ones at least I will have every angle covered now, just got to figure out the big box of mounts and accessories
