  1. Wonderwheels - i remember being told to steer well clear of that when we went to a detailing seminar. I used to use it on my old saab and it ate through the dirt. I dont let it near my zed though.
  2. Glrnet named mine and beavis changed my avatar and the name has stuck ever since. Regardless of name my cars have always been female for some reason.
  3. Lol yup he will learn, im still on my honeymoon 3 years later i think i should adopt an oil well in the gulf, it may be cheaper in the long run
  4. Yeah i now know the local garage owner as well as i know the local chinese takeaway owner. Still wouldnt have it any other way.
  5. Dont get haydn to show you the photo of what happened when he went to a stag do...........
  6. Maybe a little too fussy , if i waited till it was over 10degrees it would hardly get used in this country lol
  7. Fixed Many thanks Will ... been looking at that all night wondering whether to say something No problem, thanks for the spot
  8. I know what you mean, 350 roadster roof material is a lot stiffer than the 370 so i can see why you would do that. I used to notice lots cracks in the 350 material and lots used to develop tears in similar places. Thank goodness they fixed that with the 370.
  9. Fixed, i'll blame that one on the stupid ipad autocorrect and me never noticing
  10. They do advise the roof on the 350 shouldnt be used below 5 degrees. Never normally wanted to use it if it was that cold anyways. I remember trying to use the roof alongside iain and his roadster on a meet down south. Everyone sat laughing as we kept trying and they kept sticking half way up. Didnt stop me though as long as it isnt raining i'll give it a shot.
  11. Im sure there will be plenty more sunny days for you to enjoy your zed this year
  12. Yes Its common practice amoungst dealers to only fix cosmetic issues once a buyer agrees to the purchase and request it. Most have a dent fix touch up guy they contract with to do this. Nothing sinister in this, good business logic to me. Why invest more in your stock until its sold.
  13. 86 - this may be of interest http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/56308-what-can-happen-if-you-run-your-zed-on-95-ron/page__hl__detonation#entry835043
  14. Looks great, lots of sparkles Hope you are enjoying your new purchase
  15. Would certainly add the splash of red too ......
  16. You have the right attitude, dont buy on impulse. Its tricky when you hear the exhaust and take a test drive but keep a level head. Prime example my first zed was a roadster, it was in great condition but i noticed some issues with the roof. Garage said np we will fix it all so i agreed and bought it. I absolutely loved the car and don't regret it but with hindsight i should have waited and picked a better one. Those roof issues kept resurfacing and it occasionally leaked when it rained -not fun. Eventually it started ruining the fun so i sold it and moved to a 370. Waited for the right one and never looked back. Funny thing is i look back very fondly On that first zed, despite the leak i loved that car
  17. Walk away and wait for the gem of a car. The bumper would put me off and the attitude of the dealer. Every place ive been to the dealers have been great 'yup we will sort that for you" has been common to every one. If they have their current attitude of 'its a used car what do you expect' what will they be like after the sale if a problem occurs.......bet they wouldnt give a hoot. However you have to accept that no matter how well looked after a 350 is going to have a few marks, chips and some wear over the years as these cars are meant to be used. When i was looking at 370z's last year i was suprised at the number that had stone chips, scuffs and alloy scratches. I waited till i found a car in near perfect condition as they are out there.
  18. Lol, hope you are having a great holiday beavis
  19. Ouch that really sucks. Looks like its gone into the rear wing aswell. Id imagine they would therefore need to respray 2 panels then lacquer into the rear bumper and front wing. Mine was a small key scratch over the back wing rear bumper but paid a premium to get it done properly with the correct paint. Hope you get it sorted. I would imagine you would be looking at anywhere from 250-400 to fix it but im not expert. Good uck.
  20. Yup, great little product. Bought a new meguairs clay bar today, quick whip round the front wing and it shows she needs a proper going over. One thing i was thinking, surely dragging all the dirt and grime out with the clay and continually rubbing it over the paintwork is going to cause further swirls. Yes i add lots of lube with the detailer and i continuously remould the clay but surely its going to mark or am i wrong?
