  1. Looks like Brillomaster and I are going to have a fun year.
  2. Early to tell but road noise does seem less and theres definitely less tram lining. Will let you know more after a few more miles
  3. cheapest on line for me was £928 (thanks again colin for the link) but didnt want the hassle of organising fitting. Sly would get them and fit for slightly more but couldnt get them in time. All other places were a lot more than 1020 so im happy i got a good deal with tyres that i could get a good turn around on at a place that would look after the wheels. Good luck with your tyres, post up how you find them.
  4. Dont know much about the sessantas im afraid andy. From talking to sly, local suppliers and the usual suspects it seemed clear you couldnt beat the super sports even though they are dear, so thought if i was going to fork out for tyres i may as well get the best. Crazy that the original bridgestones go for the same price nowadays too
  5. Ummm, well i got a cracking deal........£1020. They used to be a fair bit more but now are competitive with the bridgestones.
  6. All this hard work keeps you two out of mischief lol. Great work
  7. Was funny as he was talking to the customers. He said to one chap - "look its wet out there and these are brand new rubbers - the car will understeer be very very careful" - to the next guy " you have bigger tyres its going to be a nightmare take it very easy" .... then he looked at me " as for you with how much rubber you have on the rear you better crawl around roundabouts until you've done 30 miles lol" . Out on the road i was acutely aware of what he meant.....oh boy " You are right dave road noise was lessened too
  8. Had some Michelin Super Sports fitted yesterday morning at a local tyre specialist. http://www.merrow-tyres.co.uk/ Have to say, after you ignore the very strange address name, what a great place. They were able to get hold of a full set of super sports within 24hours at a price that blew most places out of the water. Very knowledgable and they took great care of the car. Snuck a look in while they were working and good to see protectors were placed over the wheels to ensure absolutely no scratches. Great place and i would definitely recommend them. Well what do i think of the tyres. Well for starters you can now get the super sports at the same approx price as the original bridgestones so it was common sense to give them a try. I wasn't expecting a big difference and i admit i've not been able to push the car as im just taking it carefully given new rubber and wet roads (talk about understeer ). Initial impressions are very very impressive. 1) Steering feels much much lighter - not sure why but i like it feels more fluid 2) Less tram lining but will need to confirm after experience of more roads 3) No grinding whilst cold and on full lock. One thing i hated about the bridgestones was on a cold morning at full lock the tyres were rock hard and it would just slip and catch making a horrible grinding noise. No issue with the SS's they are a lot softer. Time will tell but so far love them, car feels much much better. If anyone wants tyres quickly at a great price where they will look after your car check out merrows. Will
