P.S. Andy - your exhaust sounded awesome on the duel carriageway -
I'm still loving the Stillen exhaust. Its not the loudest out there but its a nice quality fruity noise and it looks awesome. Here's a little video of my recently at Prescott: And heres the car after the stillen was fitted and then the berks added. Unfortunately the berks came off as they were just too much and did my head in, spolit the pure noise of the stillen too

Rockingham track day - come have some fun

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for all those that turned up today, what a great day and we had some cracking weather. Stayed up in a local hotel with Darren the night before for lots of beer and some pub grub, best way to start a track day weekend. Up at the crack of dawn and head over to Rockingham. Awesome track and i must admit more than a little nerve racking seeing that huge wall right next to a very fast lefthander on the oval. Definitely the most technical circuit i've been on. Was great to see see my track partner in Crime Andy arrive shortly after in our trusted BMW, then came Andy, Lydia, Phil and his mate Dave and then Andys girlfriend. But star of the day has to be Ken, our biggest fan at this rate as he's coming to all of our track days thus far, but this time he came with a huge feast in his boot. Tables, chairs, salads, pies, quiches, potato salad, coleslaw, sandwiches, crisps, cakes, muffins, ............. huge big thankyou for that, you must come again Thanks for takign me out on the skid pan Lydia, Ken and Darren. Was a lot of fun BMW was decidedly off at the start as she kept sliding out on all the left handers, swapped tyres and it improved then disappeared. Thank goodness as i did lose confidence on some of those bends but at the end of the day it was awesome. Some nice machines there today and lots of friends so wasa great day out. Will post up vids later but heres a few quick pics The start of the feast - this was only a small part of what came out of kens boot The zeds vs Rockingham -
Aye i pay more and get less metal lol. I get your point with the cost of mods etc and a body kit taking it up to the same cost as the nismo but the nismo bodykit doesnt do it for me, just a matter of prefernce. Also the jismo is very quiet. Now if it had the amuse kit and a fruity exhaust then that would be a different story. But i acknowledge ive not seen one in the flesh so may pop down to the dealer just to see.
-
I wouldnt be paying for that, very shoddy for a professional. Good luck 2nd time around

Not a fan and too much of a premium. Prefer the look and sound of yours andy tbh

Intesting point and i get what you mean. On one side It's human nature, we like to show off our new toys and get confirmation from others that they like it too. When i pop over to see my 2 year old nephew the first thing he does is go grab his new toys and show me, toy after toy. I didn't study psychology it must be some inbuilt behaviour to share and build a bond over something he values. I remember when i used to do something similar with my uncle, trying to impress and see if he liked the latest christmas present i got. Now im sure there are loads of similar presents out there and he may not be too bothered but to me it was mine, i loved it and i wanted to show it off. His acknowledgement built a bond between us, a recognition. For people buying zeds they chose them as they want to be different, its clear they love them, from the amount of time they clean, detail and look at them from their house windows, as they walk off to the shops or look in reflections as they drive along. Posting pics of their cars on a related forum is a natural extension of this behaviour, this is my car, i love it and want to show it off to others. There may be loads of others out there just the same but to me this one is mine, its special and i want to show it off. Theres a hope others will agree and thus a confirmation of what you have bought or chosen is right and a bond is started. You then feel comfortable and accepted and contribute more to the forum. I agree some may say," lovely car, nice example "and yes they may be saying it to be nice or polite, as in of itself it may be something pretty normal. But the important thing is we say it, to them we can see it is special, they've invested significant time and money to get it. We recognise how much our car purchase meant to us and congratulate them as much as we wanted others to congratulate us. Its all part of the process of being accepted and accepting others i guess. We see many people on this forum doing just that and its a relection of the type of person on this forum. When i joined in no way did i expect to find so many like minded people who would go out of their way to help if i needed it, who would work so hard so others could enjoy a meet, a meal, a hoon or a long weekend away in wales. I've met some close genuine friends from this forum which i never expected and it's because of that thought for others thats shown by the people here. Anyways im getting sidetracked but thats my 2 pence. Interesting question though.

Read the whole thread please! Umm i just read it again to be sure and read this in your opening statement. "If you don't take the car offered, tough, get the bus!" That suggests no choice to me.
-
So now you want us to make broad sweeping assumptions without all the facts too?
-
Haha saw pics of that car via the zite app. Link did work btw

How to Smurfadise a Zed......**Yellow Brembos** P29

Looks lovely and knowing tgm it will be a top quality job. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh -
Using your example, how would eliminating choice for the vast majority of disabled people who use the scheme and who would like to contribute alittle more to get a vehicle more suitable for their and their families needs, allow others with disabled children to receive benefits for appliances they require. The two are completely unrelated. Now if you were discussing the finer points of how the scheme approval system works and identifies those entitled to the benefits and how those benefits are calculated then thats a different story. That may indeed be correct, such as in the case you put forward for your friend. But if that was your point it could have been put far more eloquently.
-
I can understand both sides of the argument, having friends who are disabled and pay extra to get a car they would like on the scheme and parents who are disabled who given their situation should be allowed on the scheme but weren't for one crazy reason or another. But stuart i really don't think you did yourself any favours in the way you expressed your point. Im a relaxed person but even i got wound up by the way you made your point. Your anger at your friend and resentment over his taking advantage of the system then turned into a blanket statement that disabled people shouldnt have any choice as to the type or colour of vehicle they drive and should all have big stickers to highlight the fact they are disabled. Rather than put forward a logical argument the only outcome of your post is to wind people up - which it did.
