Just spoke to a guy at the radio code place and he says to get to the reset point, you leave the HU on for about an hour??? Is that right? Will that reset it?? I have never heard of that before :/

On the back of the unit there will be number may start with an m about 5-7didgits/numbers post it with the make&model & i may be able to get the code.

I managed to get the code online, its a 4 digit one... Only thing is, how do I put it in? When the HU comes on it just says "SECURE" and there doesn't seem be an option for entering a code? Or do you just enter it and it knows?

Going to give one of those online code websites a go... I remember they worked for my old focus...

It does need a code unfortunately, first off, go back to the person you bought it from and see if they have the code, if that fails ask for your money back. It also depends what vehicle it came out of and how old it is, some newer manufacturers head units are "paired" to the vehicle and the only way to un-pair them is to take it in to the stealership, on the other hand it maybe worth looking on line to see if you can find a decoding specialist for the unit you have.

I bought this HU from another member and it installed fine. It's not a bose (which is why I bought it) and when I power it up is just says "Wait" then "Secure". This means it wants a code yes?

I did a similar thing with my FTO onto a canvas, I will post a pic of it up on here when I get home

If I were you Chris I would find somewhere to stash the original HU, if/when you come to sell/px the car you can stick it back in the car in 10 mins and keep or sell your aftermarket one. I doubt (could be wrong) you will get £100 or maybe even £50? Just my 2p
